PDD Friday, Stampin' for the Weekend and some other Challenges

Good morning!! There is nothing quite like a crafty package to wake up to on a Friday!! Wooot!! I got some fabby goodies from Marti this morning, including the Black Tuxedo Momento ink that is proving nigh on impossible to get here!! Have you seen these gorgeous little craft buckets by Ranger yet? Well believe me they are even nicer IRL!!

Anyhoooo.... this is my DT project for Pezzy's Playgroup and I'm also entering into Whiff of Joy's challenge which is a colour combo of Red, Cream and one other colour of your choice. I decided on black :) This card was also made for PaperPlay challenges and our theme this week is to use any other language apart from English on your project (this was a toughie!!, lol)

I coloured my image using distress inks and added stickles on Willows wings. I cut a circle using my circle nesties and embossed it with the 'Thank You' cuttlebug folder, then I sanded back the 'Gracias' to make show up more. The tulle is from Tabby Crafts and the button & flowers are from my stash.

Stampin' For the Weekend

PDD Tuesday & a Whiff of Joy

On Sunday I had myself a crafty day and I promised  my 3yr old daughter that I would do a tag with her. Somewhere in between taking out the materials and finishing the tag she had left me to watch Strawberry Shortcake and I was making a very Tim Holtz-ish tag, lol. Of course when it was finished she was devastated that there were no butterflies on it...

This is the first time that distressed just happened for me. I don't think I even thought about what I was doing. It started with the gold embossing, as my daughter loves how that works and everthing just fell together after that.

I used 2 of TH stamp sets, Life's Possibilities & French Market. The music paper came from a little pack I bought from Etsy and I distressed it with Antique Lines and Vintage Photo distress inks. I also used Vintage Photo to stamp the diamond shapes and edge the tag itself. I used Tuxedo Black Momento to stamp the man, then I cut him out and stuck him down! All of the metal embellies are TH - game spinners, washers & hinge clips can be found on Pez-A-Doodle's store.

Whiff of Joy Challenge

It's been a while since I got to do a Whiff of Joy challenge. This week there is a sketch by Heather to follow.  I used Kneeling Willow & BG Bittersweet for this one.. it's a bit... erm... PINK!! lol.

OK, so it's LOT pink!! I tried to tone it down  using cream ribbon and plenty of bling (like bling was gonna help!?!?). Of course, then I went and stuck a pink/white flower and a pink pearl brad, haha! So it is what it is.. and it's PINK!! :-)

I'm having a stash clean up today, which means pulling everthing out, sorting it, labelling, etc. so if you don't hear from me in the next 48hrs call in the rescue squad!!

Happy Crafting!!

Crafty Angels meets Just Magnolia & some Challenges

Good morning. So who remembered to change their blogger settings when the clocks changed on Saturday night?? NOT me anyway.. haha!! I couldn't figure out why my scheduled post didn't publish *rolls eyes*  Anyhoooo..... onto today's cards. Apologies in advance for such a long post :$

This week our challenge on Crafty Angels was set by Caz and she wanted to see charms - handmade of bought, while on Just Magnolia there is a great sketch by Martine to follow.

I am also entering into Magnolia Down Under Challenges who asked for Distressing. I think I've distressed just about everything on this card, lol.

I've had these Magnolia papers for a couple of weeks now and I really didn't want to cut into them, lol. They are delicious and if you're a fan of distressing these papers are PERFECT for that.

I used one of my Magnolia Tilda's from the Yummy for your Tummy collection and coloured her using both copics and distress inks. I distressed my papers using Antique Linen and edged them with vintage photo. I crackle painted the heart circle and rubbed Aged Mahogany over it to let the cracks take in the colour. I then cut Tilda out and 'sat' her on the end of the circle.

The big white flower is one from a very inexpensive range of embellishments, however it does have a huge silver glittery centre that I didn't like so I covered it with a white button threaded with scrappers floss. After inking the little chipboard heart with Aged Mahogany and adding white dots using a gel pen I stuck it on top of the button using glossy accents. I dotted some self adhesive pearls around the card and finished it off with a Studio G sentiment.

I have 2 cards today for the Anyone for Anya Challenge blog. This week there is a lovely sketch by Dawny P to follow. On both of my cards I used the first Anya's I ever bought and they are still my favourites :)

I used Kaisercraft paper with bazzil card for this one. The border punch is MS Checkerboard. My gorgeous flowers are from Tabby Crafts, and the bling is by Prima. The ribbon & brads are from my stash and the little spacers are from The Hobby House.

This next card is the one I made for the AFA challenge LAST WEEK! lol. I just couldn't get myself together enough to post on time. Thankfully I'm feeling sooo much better, and the kids are off school for mid term so no rushing in and out to schools! I'm hoping for a chill out week :)

The theme was Autumn Colours and I used a great sketch on Papertake Weekly. I flipped it to the left but the sketch is unchanged. My papers are MME Bloom & Grow and Bazzil cardtsock. The roses are spritzed with Copper glimmermist but as always it's so hard to pick up the sparkle on camera.

The beautiful jewelled top pin is one my friend Dee Dee sent to me. I'm sure it's a Maya Road but I'll leave it to her to correct me if I'm wrong, lol. The sentiment is from Magnolia's Summer kit. The big button, adhesive pearls and pearl thread are from my stash.

Phew, well I think that's it for today... what a long post, lol!! We are off into town soon, as it's finally stopped raining. TFL and have a great bank holiday Monday :)

Stampin' for the Weekend - PDD Friday

I can't believe it's been a week since I posted last. I've been sick, still am, and very much mojo less. I did, however get a DT card done.

I got some some wonderful new goodies in the mail from Marti this week. Check out the new Holiday Skittles here, they are super cute. I can't even pick a favourite from them, I love them all!! Tim Holtz products are 15-25% off so now is the time to stock up. There is also some Studio G news on Marti's blog.

Over on Stampin' for the Weekend  we have a 'spook'tacular (corny or what!!lol) challenge this week. We would love to see Halloween themed projects.

The sponsor this week is Donna's store, Bearly Mine Designs, and the prize being offered is Designer Extreme Vol. III

We have 2 new guest designers this week, Tracy and Lil Sis - plus our very own Donna is playing along for this one :)

Be sure to check out the other DT blogs and leave them some love :)

Magnolia-licious meets Friday Sketchers

There is a great challenge over on Magnolia-licious Hightlites. They are asking for an Easel card, and you have the whole month of October to do it (thankfully, as I kept forgetting about it *blush*).

Hubby came home from work today and asked if I had a card that he could give to the lady leaving the office where he works. As I was in the middle of making this card I just added the sentiment and now he has his card :)

I followed the sketch on Friday Sketchers for the front of my card.

I just love this MS zig zag edger!! The wonderful flowers and tulle are from Tabby Crafts, I can see I'm gonna have to slow down on using these or I'll be breaking my stash ban AGAIN!! lol.

Since this card won't fit in a standard envelope I made a 6x6 box for it and used the same dp to decorate.

Ingredients:
Papers: Heidi Grace Frost Boulevard
Image: Magnolia Tilda
Distress Inks, Copic Markers, MS Zig Zag Punch
Flowers & tulle: Tabby Crafts
Ribbon, gem brads, Prima swirl, Glittered skittles.

Basic Grey meets Just Magnolia & Stamp Something

3 posts in 24hrs.. no wonder I've been getting nothing done in the house ;) ha!

I'm cutting it really fine with this Basic Grey Challenge, which is a wonderful sketch by Martine. Just Magnolia are asking for "Bright and Zingy", what better papers to use than BG Urban Prairie & Lemonade. And on Stamp Something the challenge this week is "Bling It Somethings"

Again this Tilda was bought from Magnolia Sweden, I love that I can get all the past collections from there. I coloured her with both distress inks and copic markers. I used the copics for her skin & hair and the distress inks for her clothes and for distressing the background.

The flowers, tulle & jewel topped pin are from Tabby Crafts. Seriously, if you haven't been to that site yet, you NEED to!! The supplies are wonderful, the prices awesome and the customer service is second to none! Thanks Tab, I'll be back again soon :)

Ingredients:
Papers: BG Urban Pairie & Lemonade
Image: Magnolia Tilda
Flowers, tulle & pin: Tabby Crafts
Glittered Skittles: Pez-A-Doodle Designs
Crystal Swirls: Prima
Copic markers, TH distress inks & adage tickets.

Stampin for the Weekend meets PDD Friday

TGIF, lol!! Today's card  is my combined DT entry for PDD Friday, PaperPlay Challenges and Stamping for the Weekend.

This week on SFTW we have a wonderful sketch by Amy for you to follow

Our sponsor this week is Whiff of Joy who are offering the winner one stamp...

Again we have 2 wonderfully talented guest designers joining us this week, Tracy and Jerusha. Be sure to check out their blogs along with the rest of the design team to see what they've been up to :)

On PaperPlay Challenges it was my turn to set the challenge and I went with one I'm sure everyone will like.. Favourite Embellishment!! My favourite has to be RIBBON (and flowers, and charms, and... lol )!!

Our sponsor this week is An Siopa Bui

and the prize this week will be a Whiff of Joy Stamp of your choice from the Henry Mouse Christmas Range.

For my card I used Tilda with Tinsel image that I bought from Magnolia Sweden. I've coloured her with distress inks. I've shaded the background lightly with Pine Needles. I then added Star Dust stickles to the tinsel.

I used 2 grungeboard snowflakes from the Seasonal collection and painted them with Picket Fence crackle paint. Instead of being patient and waiting for it to dry I used my heat gun, haha, so that I could add the Frosted Lace stickles. The thing I find great about the frosted lace is that is seems to have more texture than the other clear stickles and it is brilliant for things like snowflakes and icicles. I finished off my card by using a little sentiment from Studio G Christmas collection.

Don't forget to hop over to the other Pez-A-Doodle DT member's blogs to say hello!! Have a great weekend :)

Pez-A-Doodle Designs & some Challenges

Good morning. Well this card was supposed to posted yesterday but it literally took me all day to make it. Of course most of the day it was finding the energy that was the problem,  but once I finally got started I just went with it and was pleased with how it turned out. Being sick sucks when you're solo parenting 4 kids for the week. Roll on Friday when hubby will be home.

Anyway, onwards and upwards.. My card today is for...

2) Magnolia Down Under - who asked for Halloween
3) Friday Sketchers with their fabby sketch.
4) Papertake Weekly - with their theme "The Dark Side"

This month on Pez-a-Doodle Designs the product focus is grungeboard and inks, so I've used both ;) I coloured my Tilda image with TH distress inks and inked the grungeboard lamp post with Black Soot, then I added Black Diamond stickles for some dimension (and of course some sparkle). I also gave Tilda a black sparkly bow.

OK, so you've probably noticed that Tilda is not of the Halloween kind, lol. I didn't have any Halloween Magnolias *shock* so I had to do some improvising! I thought the sentiment with this particular image tied it all together to make a 'cute' Halloween card ;) I made the sentiment using the Dymo label maker, I love that thing but keep forgetting I have it!!

Ingredients:
Papers: BG Eerie
Image: Magnolia Tilda with Cat
Grungeboard, black satin ribbon, black & orange adhesive gems,
Nestabilites oval & scalloped oval, cuttlebug, dymo label maker
Brad: Imaginisce

Well that's it from me for today but I will be back tomorrow with another challenge project. I hope you all have a very pleasant Wednesday :)  I'm off to blog hop....

Just Magnolia meets Crafty Angels

Good morning!! Brrrr it's a cold one today. My Tilda is dressed perfectly for this weather ;)

This week on Just Magnolia there is a wonderful sketch by Mina to follow, while on Crafty Angels the challenge was set by ME this week and I chose Buttons & Bling!!

I used this ever so sweet Tilda and coloured her using distress inks. I gave her  a little highlighting on her cheeks with an opaque white gel pen.  Then I cut around her legs and used the circles nesties to make her 'sit' on the end of the circle. I distressed the background very lightly with Broken China and then added my little bling hearts, and a bow to make the circle look like a tag.. I think it worked, lol! I threaded the large buttons with scrappers floss, love that stuff! I finished off the card by adding more bling around the edges, as you can never have enough sparkle ;)

Mina's sketch:

Have a wonderful Monday!!
TFL :)
