Stamping Bella Bellariffic Friday - Photo Inspiration

Hi!! For this week's Stamping Bella Bellariffic Friday we had a photo inspiration.

Soooo, pulling my stash apart I realise that I don't have any SB stamps with flowers and the colours didn't really appeal to me - so basically my project is a far removed from the inspiration as you can get, LOL. But, hey, at least there's a couple of flowers, right??

The backing papers are from Prima and I added loads of texture with some bubble wrap and Blueberry embossing powder

I stamped the image - Life is Good - onto some kraft card and coloured her with Copic Markers.

The tag had been gesso'd and spritzed with glimmer mist before stamping the sentiment. I added some washi tape around the pages.

The hearts are chipboard and they've been covered with Prima paper and inked with Brushed Corduroy ink.

Check out the rest of the Bella Babes makes over on the blog. Don't forget to drop in Stamping Bella Facebook pagefor all the latest news, and the SB Sisterhood group to share your wonderful makes with us!!

This week we have a sketch for you. If you want a chance a winning our monthly prize, just email your entry to Em by Thursday so that it can be included in the blog post :)

Have a great day!!!

Chi Chi Memories GDT

Hi! Today I am sharing my last GDT card for Chi Chi Memories. This past two months have really flown by and I can't believe they're over already!!

I am featuring one of my favourite images - May Girl. I just love that hair and I promised my Princess that I would do pink hair, as I've previously coloured it blue :)

The papers are a mix from my scraps/leftover pile, and are matted with black, white and pink cardstock. The sentiment is from Lily of the Valley - haven't used them in aaaaages, but they are just fabulous.

I've used just a few pearls and a large bow to embellish!

Thanks for dropping by

Stamping Bella Bellariffic Friday

Hi all!! For this week's Bellariffic Friday we had a fabby sketch to work with and this was my take on it

My card features Faith the Fairy and she's been coloured up with Copic markers, trimmed out and adhered with 3D foam dots.

The papers are from Kaisercraft and they're matted onto white and blue cardstock from Papermill Direct. I've layered on a large white doily and used nestabilities to cut out the classic and scalloped circles. I've added a die cut birdhouse, some flowers and pearls to embellish.

Next week’s theme is a fabulous inspiration photo.. use any element in this photo to inspire you for your card or project! If you want to play along just email your creation to Em by Thursday - you could be the lucky winner of our monthly prize!!

Molossi Mood Board Challenge

Howdy!! I recently hosted a crafty swap and today I want to share what I made for my swap partner. I actually got the idea for this from another swap I'm participating in, which I am working on right now... I'm typing in between drying layers, lol. I also took inspiration from the Molossi Mood Board challenge. All of the supplies will be listed at the end of the post.

I was lucky enough to find some large Papier Mâché letters in my local art store - these are approx 8" in height. I prepared the surface with a layer of gesso and then added loads of texture with modelling paste and stencils, along with chipboard pieces.

I did all of the background colours before adding flowers, and gesso'd chipboard butterflies/birds/leaves. I used various Silks to add colour to the raised areas.

I also applied Silks to the edges of the large Prima flowers. Finally I adhered a Prima Typo Bulb over the birdcage (Tip: use a hot glue gun for this step, wet glue takes aaaaaages to dry. Ask me how I know :/ )

Supplies:
Papier Mâché Letter
Claudine Hellmuth Gesso
Stencil - Prima Sunrise Sunset
Flowers - Prima & Wild Orchid Crafts
Sprays - Tattered Angels: Tattered Leather & Dylusions: Campso Teal
Silks - Emperor's Gold, Chestnut Brown, Persimmon & Moss Green
Liquitex Modeling Paste
Chipboard - Lattice Background, Butterflies, Bird & Birdcage
Ingvild Bolme (for Prima) Typo Bulbs 2

Thanks for popping by!

La-La Land Crafts Inspiration Friday - Twine/String

Good morning!! It's all excitement in this house today as Princess and her Bestie are finishing school early to go to the One Direction concert. Of course I get to go too because they can't go alone... and yes, I've admitted to being a 1D fan so I'm pretty giddy myself, lol. Lots to do before I head off so I'd best get to it.

This week our Inspiration theme on La-La Land Crafts is Twine and/or String. My card features Heart Cupcake Marci and the following dies - Birthday Flag, Lotus, Booktabs and LabelsStitched Scallops Border

The papers are reeeeeeeeally old ones by Basic Grey, they are the Oh Baby Girl collection. Never ever ever grow tired of these papers.

I coloured Marci up with Copic Markers:
Skin: E000, E00, E11, R20
Hair: E50, E51, E53
Dress: RV10, RV21, RV23, RV25. Y11, Y13, Y17
Cupcake: E41, E42, E43. Y11, Y13, Y17. RV25, RV29
Shoes: C5, C9, RV21, RV25
Ground: E41, E42, E43

The card is for my sister-in-law's niece so I hand cut some pennants and stamped her name on them - Doireann, and I added some buttons threaded with Scrapper's Floss. (yes, I still have some Karen Foster Scrappers Floss! lol).

That's it from me but you can check out the rest of Team Friday's creations over on the La-La Land Crafts Blog, and you join in all the La-La Land Crafts fun by adding your creations to our Facebook Page and Twitter.
And for more inspiration, we are now on Pinterest
Have a wonderful Friday

Stamping Bella Bellariffic Friday - All Stitched UP

Howdy all! It's Bellariffic Friday again and this week we were getting All Stitched Up (use real or faux stitching). You may notice that my photo is not good, not good at all.... apologies for that, I forgot to take pics before I sent it out and this was the only one I had, taken on my phone :/

Anywhoooo, it is what it is, lol. On my card I featured Posh has a Present and I've coloured her up with Copic Markers.

My papers are a mix of My Mind's Eye and I stitched them down with both black and white thread. To embellish I added a few pearls and a bow made from white seam binding.

This week we have a sketch to follow along to and if you want to play along just email your creation to Em by Thursday - you could be the lucky winner of our monthly prize!!

Here's the sketch -

Steampunk Mixed Media Journal Page

Good morning!! Today I am sharing a mixed media journal entry I made recently. In line with this week's Inspiration theme on La-La Land Crafts I am using left over pieces of the Steampunk Shadow Box Kit, the Steampunk Frames and Shapes and some Steampunk Clock die cuts. The sentiment is from the NEW Beautiful Day Sentiments

I started out by layering on some gesso on the page and quickly drying it with a heat gun. I then adhered some Steampunk Clocks around the page and applied another layer of gesso. On top of that I added some texture with stencils and modelling paste. I repeated the process with cogs from the Steampunk Shadowbox Kit and the Steampunk Frames & Shapes

For background colour I used Dylusions Sprays - Crushed Grape and Dirty Martini, drying with a heat gun in between applications. I then added some Chestnut Brown and Wine & Roses Silks over the raised areas. Once it had dried I applied a thick coat of Transparent Viva Crackling Colour over random areas on the cogs.

I stamped out the sentiment and cut it up with a scissors. I used a sharpie paint pen to outline it and adhered it to the layout. Then I rubbed some colour over it to blend it in.

Finally I added some white dots on the cogs with a white paint pen.

Happy crafting!

Chi Chi Memories GDT

Hi!! Back again today with a quick GDT post for Chi Chi MemoriesI made a tag featuring May Girl, which was the freebie for April. She is no longer a freebie but IS available to purchase.

I used Kaisercraft 'Marigold' papers and layered a little modelling paste on top with the Sunrise Sunset stencil by prima. Then I layered on some flowers, leaves and pins before adhering my image with 3D foam. I punched a hole at the top and added a grommit and then threaded some ribbon through. To finish off I added some coordinating 3mm pearls.

Blog Post Catch Up

Howdy all!! I'm starting to come out the other side of this illness/virus/whatevertheheck and finally have enough energy to concentrate on what I'm doing! Rather than cram my blog with posts I should have published over the past few days I'm going to cover everything in one fell swoop..

GDT project featuring Prom Girl, one of the new images for May. Such a sweet image. My papers are a mix of odd sheets I have in a box that I'm trying to use up. There is some My Mind's Eye and Kaisercraft in there - not really sure what else. To embellish I added some feathers, flowers and pearls.

**************************

which was this sketch -

and this is my take on it....

The stamps are from a new Mixed Media line but I think the Floor Plan is just perfect for New Home cards, so that's what I made. The papers are from Kaisercraft and My Mind's Eye. I added a key tied with twine and some black pearls to embellish.

This weeks' theme is Stitch it Up - Use real or Faux Stitching. To be in with a chance of winning the monthly $50 prize just email your entry to Emily before Thursday each week.

************************

Our Inspiration Friday theme this week was For a Special Lady and I altered one of the new Hinged Trinket Box (Small) The papers are again Kaisercraft and I cut the tickets from one of the papers.
I die cut some Cherry Blossom flowers and the Cherry Blossom Branch, inked them and layered them down with a large Prima flower and a Key charm. Using an alphabet stamp I spelled out Treasures on the banner and adhered it with 3D foam.

********************

This week's special offer is White Leather Embossed Card and I made a cute pair of Baby Shower Favour Shoes using a PDF template I got online. I cut it out with a scissors and rubbed Fired Brick distress ink into the card. Tucking the tabs underneath I then heat embossed clear embossing powder. (it's hard to adhere the tabs if you've heat embossed them.)

For the bottom of the shoes I rubbed Brushed Corduroy ink into the card. To secure the straps I added pearl brads.

Phew... we're done and I managed to keep it pretty short and sweet. Now I am off for a hot date with Marty Deeks and NCIS Los Angeles :D

Have a wonderful day and thanks so much for dropping by!

Mixed Media Circle Journal

Helloooo and happy Saturday! I love the weekends, don't you? I especially love Saturdays, which are usually quite busy but you know you have another day of the weekend left so it doesn't matter .. and besides, it's a good kind of busy - library with the kids, art lessons for Princess, my weekly coffee shop visit with the little man (hot chocolate for him!), a visit to the farmers market to stock up for the week and there's the Saturday movie to look forward to. Doesn't matter that we've seen the movie a million times before, we make popcorn and we all beat ourselves onto the couch like sardines. I love it!

Anyway, today I'm sharing a DT project I made for Cardz 'n' Scrapz. I recently partook in a Mixed Media Circle Journal group and this turned out to be the start of my mixed media journey. For those of you who don't know what I'm waffling on about - the definition of a circle journal is - A themed album that is passed throughout a group of people, each person completing a page/layout in the album before passing it to the next person.

This whole circle journal thing has taught me so much, most importantly -
1. If a layout didn't relay from your head to the page, don't keep adding sh$t to it, you'll only make it worse. Let it be. Own it, accept it, move on!
2. It really IS possible to be okay with messy hands. (this from someone who washes their hands 20 times whilst preparing a meal!) Just keep baby wipes handy for when the panic attack sets in :D
3. Be flexible. Don't be impatient. Life throws curveballs. An 11 month deadline can easily come and go...

...all in all it was an amazing experience and from it I have a journal that I will treasure.

Once we got our journals back, we could design our covers. I started out by covering it with gesso and quickly heat dried it. Then I covered the front and back with the Wallflower papers and applied a layer of watered down gesso over it so that it would take the colours.

I used various stencils, and the background lattice chipboard to create some texture, then applied mists and inks until I got the colours I wanted. Tip: when using sprays and inks - spray on your colour, then taking a mister, spritz it with water. This gets the colour into all the crevices. Heat dry between each colour application.

Once I was happy with the colours I applied Emperor's Gold Silks to the raised areas. It took 2-3 coats to get a good coverage.

I then layered up all of my embellishments - Prima flowers, Junkyard Findings Vintage Trinkets Typo Bulbs 2 and a butterfly cut from the papers which is framed in an Inkssentials Memory Frame. I used chipboard letters for the lettering.

Along the spine I did some stenciling

... and designed the back to coordinate

On the inside I simply applied a good layer of gesso and used the mists/sprays and inks with plenty of water to marble the colours together. It's hard to see, but at the end, I gave a generous spritzing of Copper Glimmer mist which gave a 'rust' appearance.

Finally, taking the Ingvild Bolme Branch Bark chalk ink edger, I ran it around all the edges of the cover.

So there it is. All finished. I've added the pages back in. It now sits proudly on my shelf and I love to take it down frequently to look through it.

A CAS Birthday Card

Hi! Just a really quick post from me tonight, it's been such a busy week and the bank holiday weekend is just a blur - I can't believe it's Monday night already!! I recently got some Mixed Media stamps from Stamping Bella. If you haven't seen the new stamps you can check them out HERE

Whilst putting them away in my stamp tower I got an idea for a CAS Birthday card featuring the Java Spills and Framed Numbers, with different colour distress inks and a few sequins.

The colours can be adapted to suit anyone and it literally only took 20 minutes to make. L-O-V-E it! I think my kiddos will be seeing a lot of these for their friend's birthdays, lol.
