WOW! Embossing February Challenge

It's the last day of February and the last day to enter our WOW! Embossing Challenge. The theme this month is ...

 ROMANCE/LOVE

I made a simple Black and White card and added splashes of purple and red.

I used the Love Beyond Measure stamp set, stamped out the LOVE with Dusty Concorde distress ink and heat embossed with Clear Gloss embossing powder. I stamped out the entwined hearts, which are also in the set, with Fired Brick ink. Then I cut it out using Nestabilities labels dies.

To embellish I added a large Prima flower, some rose buds and flowers I made using the Melt-It Powder and powder from the Sugar n Spice kit

WOW! Products Used:

I also want to share a card I made for last month's theme, which was ICE & SNOW, but due to my dodgy internet connection it didn't make the blog. It does have the word LOVE on it so I guess it ties nicely with this month's theme ;)

For the background I used the Blizzard stamp on white card and heat embossed it using Clear Matt powder, then I sponged it with Tumbled Glass Distress inks. I used the same technique for the words, which are from the Collage clear stamp set

I took the rose from the Simply Amazing stamp set and heat embossed it twice, layering one on top of the other with 3D foam for some dimension. To complete the card I added some baker's twine to the sentiments and flower centre.

Today is the last day to enter our monthly challenge for your chance at winning 12 embossing powders. Check out all of the details HERE
Remember, all projects must have either heat embossing or use WOW! products to qualify!
You must also be a follower of our blog to enter*.

Waltzingmouse Stamps "Some of our Favourite Things" Blog Waltz

Welcome to the Waltzingmouse Stamps FAVOURITE THINGS blog waltz!!! You should have arrived here from Jennifer's blog, but if not, the whole list of participating ladies is at the bottom of this post so you can find your way!!

While Miss Mouse is busily preparing some amazing new sets for 2013 the design team thought it would be FUN to look back over the unique designs already in the catalogue. Each of us have chosen our favourite set to work with today.

We are also THRILLED welcome the former Mischief Makers to the WMS Design Team....  and they are playing along today!! Please do drop by their blogs to welcome them on board!!

I have MANY sets that I love, but today I have chosen  'Twas the Night before Christmas simply because I just can't get to use it enough.

I had this idea to alter a frame a long time ago but simply hadn't gotten around to doing it. I had all of the supplies stashed away so I pulled them out and I am so happy with how it turned out. To prepare the frame I first painted it white with acrylic paint and then covered it with patterned papers, sanding the edgers for a more distressed look.

I had some HUGE glittery snowflakes just begging to be used up. I chose a gold one, then added bare chipboard swirls and layered up flowers and flossed buttons on top to each side of the frame.

Inks Used:
Memento Black
Antique Linen
Fired Brick
Evergreen Bough
Brushed Cordoroy

Check out what the rest of the WMS DT have created for your viewing pleasure.... and next on the waltz is Becca Feeken!!

And here is the full list of Waltzing Ladies today....

DT Quixotic Paperie - Altered Door Hanger

Hi everyone!! Today it's my turn to share a little inspiration over on the Quixotic Paperie Blog and I have a project to share which features the cutest little monster from the Oddly Sweet Curiosities Set 1 by SCACD

I had some bare chipboard door hangers that I purchased from Craty Cutting a while back, and thought this image was PERFECT for hanging on my craft room door - of course I didn't bargain on a 9yo boy swiping it the first chance he got. Seriously, I have nothing left with these children of mine!! :P

First I painted it with white acrylic paint and then covered it with patterned papers. Once the papers were stuck down I sanded the edges to smooth them out.

I stamped my image onto Make it Crafty Blending Card and coloured it up with copic markers. I cut it out using circle nestabilities and sponged the background with distress ink. Then I added my layers to the door hanger, using some flossed buttons and lace trim to embellish.

I simply stamped out the sentiement with Memento black ink, rounded the corners and adhered it to the door hanger with 3D foam.

LOL! Love that sentiment!!!

Well that's it from me for today. Thank you so much for dropping in on me
Have a wonderful day

Hi and welcome to the Make it Crafty Valentine's Hop!! This will be my last DT project for Make it Crafty, it's time to move on to pastures new. I had a blast and I shall miss my teamies so much.

There are also some spot prizes along the way so make sure you comment on each blog as you go ;)

So today I have altered one of the amazing 3D kits designed by Miss Zoe herself, the Circle Shadow box. My wedding scene was created using Over the Threshold and Wedding Church images.

First I painted all  my chipboard embellishments. The chippies sets I've used are Tree BranchesOriental Bird and Spring Swing. Once they were painted up I set them aside to dry.  Then I painted the background with pale blue acrylic paint and added some clouds.

My images were coloured with copic markers before trimming them out with a scissors.

Church -
