GDT Deep Ocean Challenges

Good evening bloggers. Today I have the very great pleasure of being a guest designer for Deep Ocean Challenges. The theme for this challenge is Goodbye Summer and my interpretation of the challenge was to make a card which represented the move into Autumn, therefore I used autumnal colours on my card.

And for the first time in a long time I used a magnolia stamp :)

La-la Land Crafts Inspiration Friday - Flowers

Hi everyone! We have a new inspiration theme over on the La-La Land Crafts blog today. 

The theme to inspire this week is 

FLOWERS!!

My card today features Popsicle Marci. We are having our usual Indian summer on the first week of school so my card suits our weather perfectly. It's definitely popsicle and ice cream weather! :/ 

I created my fence using the Heart Fence and the leaves behind my flowers are from the Large Flourish die.

Quixotic Paperie - Best Witches

Today I have a card to share which features the super scary sweet Hazel by Sylvia Zet for Whimsy Stamps. I just adore Sylvia's stamps and this has to be the cutest witch ever!! lol. Just look at the cuddly bat on the end of her broomstick.. cuteness or what!?! 

I stamped my image with Momento Tuxedo Black onto Make it Crafty Blending card. I used copic markers as my colouring medium.

The papers are Pink Paislee's Hocus Pocus and they've been stitched down onto white, purple and black cardstock. 

The sentiment is from the Halloween Trinkets by Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps. This is a set of 8 trinket stamps, 4 large and 4 small and come in both positive and negative images. I have used a small stamp for this card. 

To embellish I added some Make it Crafty chipboard bats, which I've inked black, from the Spooky Halloween set. I've also added some black satin ribbon, a large purple flower and 3mm purple flat back pearls.

DT Make it Crafty - It's a Good Day!

Today I am sharing a card I created featuring Melody from the new line of digital stamps called 60's Girlfriends over at Make it Crafty. I merged Melody and the pillow, which come as separate images, in Paint.net. The pillow is a free extra that comes with Melody :) I coloured them up with Copic and Touch Twin markers. I followed Zoe's tutorial when it came to doing her hair. I still need a little practice.. I didn't notice I'd left the lid half off on my C7 and when I went in to do the fine strokes I got stickly globs instead! lol. After some damage control I saved it. 

Then I trimmed her out, and adhered her onto a white doily with 3D foam dots. I love loads of dimension on my cards.

I added some flowers to match her dress and a sentiment which I hand cut and also adhered on 3D foam.

All stamps are made of deeply etched red rubber on cling mount.  They are scroll cut so you don't need to trim the rubber, indexed so you know where you are stamping and they are packaged with lots of Aloha.

Color Me Creative Classroom Challenge - Colour Combo

We have a new challenge started over on the Color Me Creative Classroom forum. We want to see you use a colour combo of  Yellow, Brown/Craft and White. 

We are sponsored by Patty's Creations and each of the DT have been given a fantastic image to work with. I chose this VW Beetle as my hubby is a VW enthusiast and owns a 1973 VW Beetle which he restored himself. Sadly, the colour combo didn't match the colour of his beetle so I chose to use brown instead.

W1, W3, W5(ground)

My papers are My Mind's Eye and I've stitched them down onto brown and kraft cardstock. I trimmed my image out using circle nestabilities and matted it onto a scallop circle. I also used nesties to cut out the banner pennant. 

The Vroom... sentiment is from Watlzingmouse Stamps Half Pint Heroes set. To embellish I simply added a few 5mm white pearls.

Father's Day 'Down Under' : No.1 Dad!

Happy Sunday Bloggers!! Today I have a quick card to share featuring one of Angie Delarie's images - No.1 Dad. This line of images reminds me so much of the movie Coraline because of the button eyes. Loved that movie - myself and my little one have snuggled together numerous times to watch it. 

It's now Monday in Australia but yesterday was Father's Day there. One tends to assume Father's/Mother's Day is on the same date around the world - NOT SO! lol. 

The brick wall embossing folder I used for the background was a bargain I came across in my local craft store. I was thrilled to find one, and at such a bargain price too.. a mere €2!!  At at 5" x 7, it's a bigger size than the rest of my embossing folders so I also snapped up a snowflake folder as this size is much better for the size cards I make. 

I trimmed out both the image and the sentiment and popped them up on 3D foam dots. To finish I simply added some black ribbon tied in a bow.
