Dream - Mixed Media Journal - Open Studio Challenge

Hi! It's been such a busy week and I had planned to blog this a little earlier but there are never enough hours in the day to get it all done! So here I am, in between folding loads of laundry and starting on some commissions - quickly typing and drinking coffee, lol.

Have you seen Finnabair's new Open Studio group on Facebook? No? Well you can find it HERE. It's chock full of inspiration, tips and ideas and there is also a little challenge - all of the details of that are HERE.

It's been so long since I entered any challenges so I had a little bit of a play around...

There is a little too much to detail exactly what I did so I will give a quick run down of the supplies I used.
7 Dots Studio - Domestic Goddess papers
Gesso
Modelling Paste
Lace
Tissue paper
Gelatos - Tangerine, Metallic Blueberry
Dylusions Sprays - Squeezed Orange, Black Marble & London Blue
Silks - Black Ice, Bolivian Blue & Azurite
Twinkling H2O - Copper Penny
Make it Crafty Doodle Dream chipboard word
Derwent Ocean Deep charcoal pencil
Tim Holtz Mini Mister (which I had to refill a gazillion times so I am on the lookout for a bigger spray bottle!!)

I also make another entry which I will be back later to share.
Back to the laundry..

Make it Crafty Valentine's Hop

Hi and welcome to the Make it Crafty Valentine's Hop!! This will be my last DT project for Make it Crafty, it's time to move on to pastures new. I had a blast and I shall miss my teamies so much.

You should have arrived here from the very lovely Delphine's blog. If not, then jump on back to Daria's blog, where the fun begins :) Hop along with us to see the inspirational LOVEY DOVEY projects designed by the MiC ladies which are sure to win your heart! There are also some spot prizes along the way so make sure you comment on each blog as you go ;)

So today I have altered one of the amazing 3D kits designed by Miss Zoe herself, the Circle Shadow box. My wedding scene was created using Over the Threshold and Wedding Church images.

First I painted all  my chipboard embellishments. The chippies sets I've used are Tree Branches, Oriental Bird and Spring Swing. Once they were painted up I set them aside to dry.  Then I painted the background with pale blue acrylic paint and added some clouds.

My images were coloured with copic markers before trimming them out with a scissors.
Wedding Couple -
Skin: E000, E00, E11, R20
Dress - BV01, BV20
Suit - W1 through W9
Shoes - W5, W7, W9
Tie - BG 13, BG18

Church -
W1, W3, W5
E09, E18, E97
Y21, Y26, Y28
YG03, YG63, YG67

I layered up the tree branches, the church, some grass, a white fence, more grass and then finally the wedding couple. Then I arranged the rest of my painted chippies around the front of the shadow box, adding some pins, pearls and a felt flower.

Next on the hop is Stephanie

Here is the list of ladies participating in the hop today -

I made a banner with my MiC goodies. I've also used some fabulous Make it Crafty Chipboard embellshiments from the Christmas Borders and Cog Snowflakes collections.

The whole banner..

I made the rosettes on each of the circles by cutting a 1.5" x 12" strip of patterned paper and scoring it at every 0.25inches - it was one of those ideas that seemed great at the start but by #5 I was questioning my sanity!! lol.

The Merry & Bright title is made from white foam Thickers.

Well that's it from me today. I hope you enjoyed today's window & good luck!

DT Quixotic Paperie - A Christmas Elf Banner

Hi everyone!! We are having a  FESTIVE THEMED WEEK over on the Quixotic Paperie blog and today I am sharing  a banner I made featuring the Christmas Elves Collection from Make it Crafty.

I've used Make it Colour Blending card and copic markers for my images.

I  hand cut the ribbon pennants. My patterned paper is from Echo Park and I've stitched them down onto the base. Then I layered on some white doilies, which I'd cut from one of my doily dies, lace and baker's twine before adhering the images with 3D foam dots. I then tied the pennants together with deep red ribbon, and I tied little bells in between them.

I also added some Make it Crafty lasercut chipboard from the Holly Decorations set which I've coloured with pencils and added some glossy accents to.

Hi eveyrone!! It's my turn to share some inspiration over on the Make it Crafty blog and today I have another Christmas card for you. These Make it Crafty Santas are among my favourite ever and, this year, there will be a lot of people receiving cards featuring them ;)

I made an A6 card (105mm x 148mm) with a wine red cardstock base and papers from Authentique. All of my papers have been machine stitched onto white cardstock and adhered to the card base with DS tape.

I used copic markers to colour him up, then I trimmed him out and adhered him to the papers with 3D foam dots.

Suit/Hat: E24, E43, E46. W1, W3

Boots: C3 through C9

I used one of the new chipboard snowflakes and heat embossed it with Sparkling Snow embossing powder from WOW! (camera is being very uncooperative of late, so I can't catch the glimmer)

I finished off with two sentiments from Waltzingmouse Stamps and a little ticket from My Mind's Eye Holly
Jolly Die Cuts.

Quixotic Paperie - Spooky Halloween 'Mini'

Hi everyone! I am just bursting to share a 'mini' mini album that I created for Quixotic Paperie's Spooky Halloween week. I love incorporating my favourite stamps into my minis and that's exactly what I've done with this one.

The front features Perfect Poison & Halloween Trinkets from Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps. I stamped Perfect Poison onto watercolour paper with Archival black ink and I used distress markers to colour her in. The papers I've chosen are Echo Park Apothecary. The skeleton paper is white but I've spritzed it with Apple glimmer mist to turn it green. I've machine stitched all the papers on the front of my mini-album.

Distress Markers:
Skin: Antique Linen, Brushed Corduroy and Tattered Rose
Hair/Shoes: Black Soot
Dress/Stockings: Spiced Marmalade & Rusty Hinge
Bottle: Peeled Paint

I also used the Archival black ink to stamp out the Halloween Trinket. Then I cut it out with the classic circle nestabilities and adhered it to the front with 3D foam dots. I inked some Make it Crafty Spooky Halloween chippies and stuck them down onto the cheesecloth and tag with wet glue.

On the inside pages I've featured stamps by Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps, Susana's Custom Art and Card Design and Make it Crafty.

This sweet scary stamp is called Oddly Sweet-Monster Flirt from SCACD. I used the coordinating sentiment and a Halloween Trinket from Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps.

Distress Markers used:
Peeled Paint, Dusty Concord & Chipped Sapphire

I made some pull out tags for extra photos and journalling.

This page features Slimy House from Make it Crafty. Again, I spritzed the background papers with Apple shimmer mist.

I stamped the image out onto my patterned paper and left it uncoloured. The 'SPOOKY' sentiment and yellow pearls are from my stash.  I also added a pull out tag on this page.

DT Make it Crafty - It's a Good Day!

Today I am sharing a card I created featuring Melody from the new line of digital stamps called 60's Girlfriends over at Make it Crafty. There are 6 wonderful images in this collection and they can be bought separately or as a whole collection. Right now, if you buy the whole collection, you will get a 15% discount. Check it out HERE.

I merged Melody and the pillow, which come as separate images, in Paint.net. The pillow is a free extra that comes with Melody :) I coloured them up with Copic and Touch Twin markers. I followed Zoe's tutorial when it came to doing her hair. I still need a little practice.. I didn't notice I'd left the lid half off on my C7 and when I went in to do the fine strokes I got stickly globs instead! lol. After some damage control I saved it.

Then I trimmed her out, and adhered her onto a white doily with 3D foam dots. I love loads of dimension on my cards.

I added some flowers to match her dress and a sentiment which I hand cut and also adhered on 3D foam.

Other Products:
Flowers - Wild Orchid Crafts
Sentiment - Waltzingmouse Stamps; Playful Pinwheels
Papers - Little Darlings Rubber Stamps

Touch Twin Challenges and More - Photo Inspiration
