Waltzing Mouse Stamps - October Release: Day 1

Well I'm back, as promised, and have some VERY exciting news to share.

However - if you are looking for my Pocket Full of Posies then you need to scroll down to the post below.

OK - I can hold it in no longer - I've been bursting at the seams -

Today sees my very first post as a Waltzing Mouse Design Team member!!!!

I couldn't be more chuffed if I tried. I have loved these stamps from the very first moment I was introduced to them and hope I can do them justice!! I am joining a design team packed FULL of amazingly talented ladies, who will certainly keep me on my toes, and I am really looking forward to working with them all.

This month there will be FIVE new stamp sets released. There will be previews today, tomorrow and Wednesday and then on Thursday we will be having a release day blog hop - with prizes of course :)

For my first card I've used 3 of the new sets - Frame It, Big Blooms - Poinsettia and Compliments of the Season. I just love how these sets all work so well together.

My patterned papers are Basic Grey, I'm still using up some of the many Christmas lines I've been 'saving', lol.  I've stamped the frame, sentiment and poinsettia using Momento Tuxedo Black and then coloured the poinsettia with copics - R24, R27, R29, YG23, YG25, G85. The front panel is mounted on 3D pop dots, as is the poinsettia, so this card has loads of dimension. I curled down the edges of the poinsettia by using my scissors and running it on the underside from centre to outside. The Yuletide sentiment is from the Compliments of the Season set, there are quite a few sentiments in this set that fit well with the Frame It set.

My next card showcases Frame It

The papers on this card are from Pink Paislee and have been inked with brushed cordoroy distress ink. I stamped the frame and sentiment using Close to My Heart 'Topiary' ink and the cupcake using Momento Tuxedo Black. I paper pieced the bottom of the cupcake, coloured the top with copics - R81, 83 & 85 - then I added glossy accents over the pink and stickles to the centre piece. Again, I've mounted the front panel and cupcake on 3D dots - loads of dimension - which I love.

I've been enjoying using fibres a bit lately and have added 3 different ones to my card -  pink, cream & green - the pink is quite hard to see in the photo but it forms a little 'skirt' where my patterened papers meet.

Funny thing -  when I'd finished making my card I was clearing away all the mess (yes I'm a messy crafter at times). As I was sweeping the floor I noticed a blue button and thought to myself that it would go quite nicely on my card - and it did!! lol. Threaded with a little scrappers floss and tied around the fibres - finishes things off nicely :D

Well that's it from me -  below is the list of amazingly talented ladies who are also previewing these fabulous stamps - be sure to pay them a visit,  you won't be disappointed!!

Claire (Head Mousetress)
and last but by no means least
who is joining me as a newbie on the WMS DT today :)

I will be back tomorrow with another Sneaky Peeky for you .. until then, have a great day and thanks for popping in.
