Woo Hooo!! It's Day Two of Waltzingmouse Stamps March Release Previews. Didn't you just LOVE A Good Egg?? Such a fun set with so many uses! If you haven't already seen the amazing samples from the design team be sure to pop around to each of their personal blogs. And also, don't forget our Pin It to Win It competition!! You will find all of the details over on Claire's blog.
Today we are showcasing Folk Art Labels. This set is compatible with my favourite Nestabilities Labels set - Labels 25!!
I had too much fun with this set and I even set a personal challenge...more about that further down!! lol.
My first card is of the Shabby nature. Lots of muted colours, ink distressing and layering!! I designed it to be a 21st Birthday Card so if you know of someone turning 21 who would love this I would be happy to mail it out to you, or them! :D
I also made a Gift Card/Money Holder to match the card. The tutorial for this can be found on Splitcoast Stampers. I tweaked it a bit because the money envelopes I have are much larger than the ones used in the tutorial. You could make a mini album with the ones I have, lol.
This is the inside :) I 'borrowed' my son's iTunes gift card.......
My next card will make regular visitors to my blog think they've entered the twilight zone. This is the personal challenge I referred to at the start of my post. I am notorious for not using the smaller stamps in my stamp sets. I just tend to use the bigger ones and neglect the rest. So my challenge was..
1) Use the small stamps in the set
2) Use the colour purple (besides yellow, this is my scary colour!!)
3) Make a Clean and Simple card.
This is what I came up with.
I don't mind admitting, the fact that there are 3 gems over the sentiment and only 2 under is eating me up, but I have thus far resisted to even them up!! Ha!! I did make one more card but haven't had time to take a photo of it. The main reason I ended up making it was because when I mentioned to a friend that both purple and yellow were my scary colours she challenged me to use both together... so I did.!! I will share it soon ;)
Okay, enough of my waffling... here is the full list of DT ladies who are participating in today's preview -

They are fabulous, Sandie!!
Love the shabby chic with all the embellies...
but your 2nd card sings to my CAS soul...
LOVE it!! :)
Love the shabby chic, vintage vibe of your first card - just beautiful.
However, it's the clean and simple card that I absolutely LOVE!
Wonderful projects, Sandie, and I just love all of the details on each! I'd love to be able to make such wonderful pocket cards! Great job!
Gorgeous job on all your makes - I am drooling over the beautiful shabby layers in your first. So pretty! And the stamp set worked so perfectly here, but then looks so versatile when used in CAS style too! (You should be poud of your CAS one - it's great, and besides, I read that odd numbers in design are always more balanced, so you scored with your gems!!!)
Rx
What a vintage beauty!! Your second is so sweet with the charming purple/green combo too!! Awesome!
Super cards-LOVE the CAS card (resist adding the gem on the bottom half of the card-haha). Thanks for sharing
