WOW! Embossing - May Sketch Challenge

We have a great challenge for you over on the WOW! Embossing blog - just follow one of the sketches below and link your project up on this blog post for your chance to win some WOW! Embossing products.

This is my take on the challenge. I chose to follow the top left sketch -

I used my papers, which are Sweet Pea from Kaisercraft, to create the layout of the sketch and then stamped lightly over the dotty paper with the De-Vine clear stamp and Brushed Corduroy distress ink.  I then cut a stitched oval from another designer paper and finally a cardstock oval on which I stamped my sentiment from the Make a Wish clear stamp set.

Also from the Make a Wish set, I embossed a butterfly using Gold Satin Pearl powder. I trimmed it out using a scissors and added some gold pearl pen down the 'spine' of the butterfly.

I die cut some flourishes from cream cardstock and embossed them with Chartreuse powder. I layered on my flourishes and flowers and finished off by adding some more of the gold pearl pen and some cream pearls to the flourishes.

Hi! Today I would like to share my project for this month's WOW! Embossing challenge which is to create a project inspired by a DT member.

I chose Jennifer's Heart Canvas here...

I made a 5.75" square Valentine's card. I covered the chipboard heart on the front with patterned paper, sanded the edges and embossed them with Sparkling Snow embossing glitter. I embossed the With Love sentiment from Everyday Sentiments, with Ebony powder and stamped the heart with Festive Berries distress ink.

WOW! Embossing - Memories Layout

Hi! Today I am sharing my take on this month's WOW! Embossing powder challenge theme, which is
Memories

I created a scrapbook layout using various stamps, powders and other WOW! Embossing products

The papers I'm using are 12th Teacup and Overused Tablecloth, from 7 Dots Studios's Domestic Goddess collection.

On the background papers I stamped the Canvas with London Fog ink, then Funky Border Strips with Victorian Velvet distress inks. I used the Alpha Set to add the year the layout.

For the flowers I used Foil Melt-It cases and combined some Melt-It powder with embossing powders. To melt the powders together I heated from underneath the foil case using the WOW! Heat Tool

I used Apple Red Ultra High, Red Glitz Embossing Glitter and Gold Satin Pearl to emboss the wooden embellishments on the layout.

WOW! Embossing - One Stamp, Two Ways

Hi! It's my turn to share some WOW! Embossing DT inspiration with you.
Our theme this month is One Stamp - Different Looks

I made 2 cards using one of the butterfly stamps from the With Love clear stamp set.

On the first card I used Clear Gloss powder on white card and sponged the background with Victorian Velvet distress ink.
Tip: Rub over the butterflies with a damp cloth to remove any ink residue.
I matted it onto white card and used 3D foam to adhere it to the card base.
I stamped the sentiment with Archival black ink and distressed the edges with the Victorian Velvet.
Finally, I added some liquid pearls randomly to the card front.

For my second card I used the butterfly as a focal image.
I stamped it out onto smooth card and coloured it, to match my papers, using copic markers.
Purples - V000, V02, V04
Green - YG21, YG23, YG25
I cut  the image out with Lacy Circles nestabilities, adhered it to the card with 3D foam and added some liquid pearl around the circle and under the sentiment.

WOW! Embossing - My Favourite..

Hi! Today I am sharing a WOW! Embossing DT card I made for this month's theme which is My Favourite.... My take on it is to use my favourite things :)

My favourite colour is Teal, followed closely by Mustard so they are the feature colours on my card.

The card base is 105mm x 148mm. I layered on a white 100mm x 143mm white panel and a 96mm x 139mm piece of patterned paper.

I created a smaller panel using Sexi-Hexi with Gold Pearl (Regular) powder. I cut it down to approx 82mm x 126mm and matted it onto white card just slightly bigger. I used 3D foam to adhere it to the bottom panel.

I used the Gratitude set with Blue Topaz for the flower and Nutmeg for the sentiment ticket. Each layer is stuck down with 3D foam for lots of dimension, which is another favourite thing.

To embellish I added some Viva Decor pearls pen around the card.

Products Used:
Stamps: Sexi-Hexi & Gratitude

WOW Embossing! - Time

This month our theme for WOW Embossing! is Time. It's been a while since I worked on a journal page so I took this opportunity to do just that. I love to create pages, but they are ridiculously hard to photograph, lol.

All of my pages are primed with Gesso. The background has been painted with Blush Pink, Vanilla Bean & Periwinkle acrylic paints. I then used the Sexi-Hexi clear stamp with Primary Blue Topaz powder.

I embossed my clocks with the limited edition Passion Fruit Glitter and adhered them to the page with wet glue. Then I added some metal hands, secured with matching brads.

For extra shading I used gelatos around the clocks and the edges of the page. I also used them to highlight the sentiment. When everything had dried I took the Cracked Leather stamp and stamped it randomly around the page with Archival black ink.

Altered Canvas Project - Love Family Life

Good morning :) This month's theme over on the WOW! Embossing blog is Gardens

I created an altered  4" x 6" Box Canvas wall hanging taking inspiration from the colourful gardens around my street right now.

I prepared the canvas with a layer of gesso and quickly dried it with my heat gun. Then I layered on some tissue paper and applied another coat of gesso over it, before spraying the canvas in blues and greens - to represent grass and sky.

Taking the Cracked Leather stamp and Versamark ink I first heat embossed some Olive powder and then I used the stamp again with black Archival ink. I applied some gold embossing paste and set it aside to dry.

While my embossing paste was drying I made some Flowers and a red Heart. I don't have a melt-pot so I used some Foil Melt-It cases and my heat gun to melt the powders and Melt-It. For the flowers I used Bright White and for the heart I used Apple Red

I took some white chipboard letters and heat embossed them with Metallic Copper. I used the heart in place of the dot over the I and then layerd on all my flowers -  also adding some buttons, twine and a metal hinge.

WOW! Embossing - Faux Leather Wallet

Morning!! Today I am sharing a project for this month's challenge over on WOW! Embossing, and our theme is Fabric

I found the tutorial for this faux leather wallet over on Splitcoast Stampers. I used Kraft card, put through the cuttlebug with an embossing folder and then heat embossed with clear gloss. In the tutorial you do these steps before stitching the patterned paper inside but I found it very hard to get it through the machine, and found stitching before heat embossing was much easier.

For my fabric I added some ribbon and ribbon sliders to each side. I finished with a metal button.

WOW! Embossing - Family Ties

Good morning!! Today I have another  mixed media canvas to share. I made this one for this month's challenge inspiration over on WOW! Embossing and the theme is Family

I created the background by layering on some Prima papers - Buff by Julie Nutting - and then covered it gesso. mixed with a little water for a more white wash look. Then I added some texture with dry wall tape, washi tape, stiff lace and modelling paste. I used a stencil for the modelling paste. I heat dry each layer with my WOW! heat tool to speed things up.

Once the background had dried I used some bubble wrap with embossing ink and Copper Pearl embossing powder

Taking my Silicone Moulds I made some Roses and Daisies with Melt-It powder mixed with Copper, Gold, & Pearl powders. I arranged them around the Family Ties wheel adding a key tied with gold ribbon. To finish I added a fabric butterfly and some wooden hearts.

Peace - Winter Tag

If you are looking for A Waltzingmouse Christmas you can click HERE or scroll down to the next post.

Hi! Today I have a little WOW! Embossing inspiration. Following along with our theme this month, Christmas and/or Winter, I have made a Winter tag.

To create the background I started with some blue snowflake paper and added a thin layer of gesso over most of it. Then I added some mesh and more gesso. Using a stencil and modelling paste I added some bubbles.

For the snowflakes I first embossed them with Clear Gloss and then some Mojave.

I coloured the tree with a green copic marker (G21) and then spritzed it with Kiwi Glimmer Mist, dried it off with a heat gun and then embossed it with Clear Gloss.

I sprinkled some Nice Ice Blue and Mojave onto mod podge and heat embossed it so that the powders melted into the mod podge.

I stamped the sentiment onto white card with Memento black ink and then cut the letters apart. I adhered them with mod podge and then put a thick layer of glossy accents over them. Finally, I inked the edges with Broken China distress ink.
