Sugar Nellie Facebook Challenge & Simply Sassy GDT Call

This is my second post today - if you are looking for the Waltzingmouse post then click HERE.

For the past number of weeks Sugar Nellie have been running a weekly challenge on Facebook based on a theme/sketch/etc. This week was a photo inspiration of the most delicious kind - a big mouthwatering strawberry cake!! So I took the colours - Green/Red/White but added a touch of yellow to take the Christmas look off the card... and this is what I came up with.

I used the sketch from the Simply Sassy GDT call. The papers are from the Basic Grey 'Hello Luscious' collection.

I added loads of flowers and bling and a strawberry charm to tie into the theme. Everything has been stickled with Star Dust, which coincidentally is also the name of the image I used.

Challenges -
Pile it On - Use a Rubber Stamp
Let's Ink It Up -  Stitching.
Paper Sundaes -  Texture
Copic Creations Favourite paper to use with Copics
By the Cute and Girly - Cute and Girly
My Grafico -  Anything goes
Secret Crafter - Stitching - real or faux
Stamp with Fun - Birthday
Now I have to run off quickly to drop my little man at another party - I swear the kid has a better social life than I do!!

Back tomorrow with a Whiff of Joy!
Have a great Sunday

Three squeaks for the Birthday Girl!!

Good morning!! Today the Waltzingmouse DT are having a very special BIRTHDAY blog hop, for a very special person - Ms. WaltzingMouse herself -  Claire, owner of Waltzingmouse Stamps is celebrating her birthday today.

Over the past number of months not only has Claire been a fan.tas.tic 'boss' but she's become a very good friend to me and I am truly blessed to have 'met' her. I know every member of the WMS DT feel exactly the same and that's why we wanted to do something special for her....

So each of the DT, The Mischief makers and some friends have made a birthday card for Claire... and we've used her wonderful WMS stamps too.. ;)

If you've arrived here from Lisa's blog then you're on the right path.. if not then you need to jump back to Claire's blog {which Lisa hijacked for the occasion, lol}

I've used Very Vintage Labels 10 stamped out using Victorian Velvet distress ink and a sentiment from Tiny Trees stamped with Tuxedo Black Momento along with Magnolia design papers, distressed seam binding and a beautiful 2-tone white/pink rose.

The little tag has been inked and stamped with a tiny bird from the Tiny Trees collection, using the Victorian Velvet and a touch of Brushed Cordoroy. The border has been punched out using Martha Stewarts Vintage Lace punch and then inked to co-ordinate. All of my papers have been machine stitched.

Well that's it from me.. Your next stop on this hop is Mona, and I'm pretty certain that she will bowl you over with her wondeful creativity.

I hope you will all join us in wishing Claire a very very very happy Birthday!!

PDD Friday!!

CUPCAKES!!! Doesn't everyone love them?? I know I sure do :)

I used the Polkadot Pie Chocolate Treats 1 from Pez-A-Doodle Designs to make this card. I stamped one cupcake onto acetate/transparency and cut it out, then stamped one cupcake onto my paper, masked it with the acetate and then stamped the other to make them side by side like that. Then I stamped 6 of the mini cupcakes from the same set and coloured them all using distress inks. I used 3D foam dots to adhere all the cupcakes so that they pop out from the papers. Then I added stickles for a touch of sparkle and finally I used a Studio G sentiment to finish it off.

All linked items above are available at Pez-A-Doodle Designs and in celebration of National Scrapbooking Day, all day Saurday and Sunday EVERYTHING - every single thing - in the store is 33%off!!! There is limited to stock on hand - no back orders. So order early in case something runs out!! Use the coupon code scrapit33 when you check out!!!!!

Tilda & Edwin...

I am soooo busy this week but here are two more cards I made over the past couple of days. I love both images! The purple papers I've used on the Tilda card are MME 29th Street Market - Carefree range and they are my all time favourite papers. I still have a full set :)

I coloured both images and distressed the backgrounds with distress inks and used stickles on the flowers on the Tilda card. I love the purple sprites and they match so well to the papers.

Well, that's it for now.. back to the grindstone..
