A Spoon Full of Sugar

There is a great challenge on A Spoon Full of Sugar this week. The challenge was set by Camilla
and she wants to see a colour combo with a twist... use brown as you basic colour, then you can choose either pink or blue to go with the brown.

I used Blueberry Hill papers which are great for distressing. After distressing (edge distresser and ink) I inked the edges with Vintage Photo. I got the vintage image HERE. The lace was bought from my local fabric store and the ribbon is East of India. The button, prima, brads and scrappers floss are from my stash.

TFL and have a great Wednesday. It's a day for being inside looking out, so wet and windy!!

Weekend makes..

Good afternoon and happy Monday :) Today I have a few cards to show. Another long post filled with pictures so I'll keep the descriptions short :)

Firstly I want to show you two cards that I made with two of the new stamps released today by Pez-A-Doodle Designs. Along with these there are 2 more nestie frames with a Christmas/Winter theme.

This one I made using Christmas Portico. I stamped the image with Aged Mahogany distress ink and shaded the background with Old Paper. I then edged the image with Vintage Photo. I thought this Studio G sentiment stamp was just perfect with the image.

For second card I used Christmas Fireplace. I used the same inks on both cards and again, the sentiment on this one is a Studio G.

The very lovely Cheryl has also been working the new release stamps so do pop over to her blog to see what she's been up to.

This card is my DT project for Crafty Angels which was a fabby sketch by Caz, and also my entry for some challenges....
  • Magnolia Down Under ask for a Christmas Decoration or Card.
  • Allsorts Challenge  want your project based on a Christmas carol or a song title....! (mine is Deck the Halls ['tis the season to be jolly] )
  • Crafty Creations want to see metal finishes (my metal snowflake)

I used Magnolia's Santas Little Helper Tilda and coloured her with copic markers. I then added Polar White flowersoft to the trim of her hat. My sentiment is, again, a Studio G and the Papers are MME.

Finally, this card is one I made for Friday Sketchers, Cute Card Thursday (Teen Terrors) and Anyone For Anya (Make a Fake)... I added fake stitching around the image.

The image I used is from the My Guy Ian Collection from The Greeting Farm and coloured it using copic markers. The papers are from GCD Studio's Planes & Trains. I used the MS Checkerboard punch on my border and the buttons & twine are from my stash.

Apologies for such a long post.... ;)

Have a great day!

Good afternoon!! Boy is it WET, WET, WET out, driving out there is scary :S

Today I have my DT project for PaperPlay Challenges. I am also entering into Simon Says Stamp Challenge with their theme 'Animal Antics'.

For my card I used 'Angel Wishes' from Sugar Nellie. I coloured my image with copic markers and and added stickles to the wings of the Angel  and the trim on the dog's hat. Christmas cards are such a wonderful excuse to stickle everything :D

Want to see the rose all stickled up and sparkling?? LOVE those pins too!!

Friday Sketchers meets BG - PDD Tuesday and a Sneak Peek!!

Good morning! The sun is shining here today, wonders will never cease eh?! lol. I have been a busy little beaver for the past few days.. I'm working on my class that I will be giving in Galway this coming Sunday.. more about that further down (sneaky peeks at the wonderful papers too!!)

I made this card using Friday Sketchers sketch #78. It's a great sketch and easy to work with, which is always a bonus!! I am also entering it into Basic Grey's challenge this week, which is themed 'Glitz and Bling".

I used Penny Black's Snow Family and coloured it using copic markers. Then I added stickles to their hats. I made vellum snowflakes using Snowflake Wonder nesties and then I also added stickles to them. I added a Crystal Ice glittered skittle to the centre of the snowflake. The papers are BG Eskimo Kisses and my ribbon is by East of India.

My next project was made for my daughter who just LOVES candy canes. I was being a clever (read sneaky) momma here because I knew she wouldn't open the acetate box to take the candy canes out, she wants to keep it for the christmas tree :)  So they are safe for another while.. as are her teeth!!

We made this.. and yes, I mean WE made this, while she was ill and home from school. I did the cutting, colouring, glueing.. she gave the orders.. you see how it went??!! The cute little reindeer stamp is a Studio G and I coloured him using distress inks. I used circle and scalloped circle nesties and mounted it on the box with 3D dots. I then added Icicle stickles around the image. I finished the box off with some American Crafts ribbon.

Now... back to the sneak peek!! Here is just a *little* taster of what I'm using for the mini-book class I'm giving on Sunday. These papers were a surprise to me until I got my kit and I just fell in love with them when I saw them!! They are STUNNING!! Check out An Siopa Bui's website to get a list of classes for the Extravaganza. I think there may be a few places left for some of the classes.

Well now I am off to work with these deeeelish papers!! Have a great Tuesday :)

Just Magnolia meets Crafty Angels

Good morning crafters! Today I have a little gift set to show you. I made the card for the Just Magnolia challenge, which was a fabby sketch by Mina and the altered gift box is my DT project for Crafty Angels.

Again, I used a mix of copic markers and distress inks to colour my Tilda. Isn't she just so, so cute??!! I love the new Christmas range of Magnolias and I can't wait to get my kit.. seriously, I CAN NOT WAIT ANY LONGER!! lol.

I used the same materials and image for the box. This box is the smallest of a nest of 3 that I bought recently. I was very pleasantly surprised at how big they were.

The papers are also from Magnolia's christmas collection. The BIG flowers and tulle are from Tabby Crafts and the skittles are from Pez-A-Doodle Designs. I added Star Dust stickles to my flowers and around the image on the card. I love the effect on the flowers.

Here is the set together....I'm not entirely sure I can part with these ones, haha!!

PDD Friday - Stampin' for the Weekend - Creative Inspirations

Good morning. It's a beautiful sunny morning here but boy is it nippy!! Winter is well and truly here. I have my little one home from school with a fever and she's been 'helping' me craft so as you can imagine it's not going well, lol !!

Well today is PDD Friday and all of the linked products below are available over on Pez-A-Doodle Designs. For great prices on all your Tim Holtz needs, not to mention those wonderful Studio G sets,  make sure to pay Marti a visit.

This weeks challenge on Stampin' for the Weekend is BIG Celebrations! - so those big land mark birthdays - 1st, 18th, 21st, 30th etc or those big Wedding Anniversaries - Ruby, Gold, Silver.

This challenge is sponsored by Simon Says Stamp and the lovely Heidi is offering a $25 coupon for the Simon Says Store

We have 2 very talented guest designers again this week, Benedicte and Trish. Please do stop by their blogs to say hello :)

Now, on to my card ...

I finally got around to using one my Motivet stamps that I chose when I was their weekly winner. This one is called Doraline with Birthday Cake, and what a sweetie she is. I coloured her using copic markers and then added some Star Dust Stickles to the birthday cake, balloon and my roses. I edged all of my papers with distress inks and also used the stickles to frame the image. I just love how the colour from the distress ink mixes with the stickles!!

I am entering this one into the Allsorts Challenge, who ask for BLING. I think I have enough stickles on this card to constitute as bling, LOL!! I love my stickles!!

I am also entering this into the Creative Inspirations challenge, with their theme 'New or Neglected'. I know we are ALL guilty of neglecting our supplies and I for one am very guilty of it. My 'neglected' item is the wonderful sprarkly Thickers I bought about 2yrs ago and they have been sitting in a drawer of my cabinet ever since.

And finally, I am entering my card for Cute Card Thursday, with their challenge 'Glitter me Silly'.

A close up of the sparkly roses

The gorgeous pins and tulle are from my Tabby Craft spree :)

TFL and have a great Friday the 13th (*eeek*)
Happy crafting xXx

PDD Tuesday - Just Magnolia - Magnolia Down Under - The Sugar Bowl

Hello all! Today was another busy one.. but this time it was busy for the right reason, lol. I finally got a little crafting time!! Which is a good thing because today is my PDD Tuesday!

I have 2 cards to share with you today. The first one is for The Sugar Bowl and it is from a sketch by Judy.

It's been a while since I got to play with these Gorjuss stamps so I was really looking forward to inking one up. I think this particular one has to be my favourite. I coloured her using copic markers and added a little highlight to her cheeks with the Inkssentials White Gel Pen. Then I cut her out and mounted her on the circle I'd cut using my circle nestabilities. I inked the edges of all my papers with Vintage Photo distress ink.

I finally broke down and used one of the deeeeelish big white roses I recently bought from Tab's store. This was a huge breakthough for me as I like to hoard, lol!!! I also got the gorgeous trim and pearl top pins from Tabby Crafts. The sentiment is from Whiff of Joy's Fall kit.

**********

The second card I want to share is one I made for Just Magnolia's monthly challenge, which is to use Distressing on your project. I followed the sketch on Magnolia Down Under so I am entering it into their challenge too.

I coloured my Tilda using both copic markers and distress inks. I added Star Dust stickles to her wings and liquid applique to her hat. I've never used liquid applique before and was quite amused by how it exploded out when I put the heat gun on it, lol... yes, yes.. I'm easily amused!!

I inked the edge of my papers with distress ink and then distressed them using a Heidi Swapp distresser.  I also inked the edges of the white flowers with Pine Needles, to match the colour on my image.

Both cards were made using K & Company papers. For the first card I used McKenna and for the second card I used Bailey. The adhesive pearls on both cards are from my stash, the charm & spacers are from The Hobby House.

All linked supplies above are available @ Pez-A-Doodle Designs. Please do pop over to the other DT members blogs to see what wonderful creations they've been making.
