Stampin' for the Weekend - Monochrome

Good morning. This week on Stampin' for the Weekend we have a monochromatic theme for you. I just love doing this type of card and almost always go with browns, my favourite!!

The papers for this card are by Craftwork Cards and are from the Oh La La Collection. I've matted them with deep brown cardstock from The Paper Mill. This was my first attmept at machine stitching a circle.. a little bit wobbly in places but I'm getting the hang of it.

I used the sketch from The Sugar Bowl and made an easel card to enter Sugar Nellie's Facebook challenge.

I coloured my image using all Earth tone (E) copics.
Hair -  44, 43, 42
Pants - 44, 43, 42, 41
Top/Hairband - 53, 51, 50
Skin - 51, 21, 00, 02
Letter - 42, 41

The flowers are all from Wild Orchid Crafts, as is the lace. My sentiment is from Lili of the Valley.

Whiff of Joy Blog Hop & Stampin' for the Weekend

Good morning!! Welcome to Whiff of Joy's Blog Hop. The whole team have come together to showcase some wonderful Christmas creations. If you have arrived here from Karen's blog then you are on the right track, if not then you may want to jump back to Katharina's blog which is where the hop begins.

The hop will end on December 24th and one lucky commenter will win €30 to spend @ Whiff of Joy.  What a great Christmas gift!!

*Don't forget that you can get 20% off your entire order in the Whiff of Joy store when you use the coupon code below. This coupon is valid until December 24th.*

I have to confess that I combined my blog hop card with my Stampin' for the Weekend DT card.. naughty me, but it is the season of long queues and marathon shopping, so crafty time is at a premium, lol.

Don't you just LOVE Henry Mouse and his cheeky little smile??!! I've coloured him using copic markers and then added some glossy accents to the trim on his Santa hat, the berries and bow on the wreath.

My papers are BG Jovial, love love love them!! I broke out the sewing machine and stitched the card... had to blow the dust off of the machine first, haha!! Then I added some white & red poinsettias along with some punched out pine leaves, white roses and red pearl top pins.

I've used 2 red ribbons, one organza and one sateen. I made the bow from the sateen and {with a lot of effort} pushed a pearl/gold brad through. This was no easy task, but I think it turned out pretty nice.

To complete my card I added a Christmas tree charm on some silver fine link chain

I hope you enjoyed your visit to my blog today, your next stop on the hop is Nana's blog and I'm sure she has created something wondeful for you to feast your eyes on.

Please also don't forget to leave my Stampin' for the Weekend teamies a little love on their blogs, they work so hard to bring you some inspirational creations.

Challenges I am entering this card into:
Stamp With Fun – Xmas
A Spoon Full of Sugar – Christmas Card

Have a wonderful, wonderful weekend!!

Stampin' for the Weekend and Whiff of Joy Challenges

Good morning. Today I would like to share a card I made to cover two challenges - Stampin' for the Weekend with a recipe and Whiff of Joy with Christmas, but not red/green.

I used one of my very favourite Elizabeth Bell Christmas stamps from Whiff of Joy - Willow with Lantern, and coloured her using copic markers.

I am just loving these Annalee papers by Prima. This card is just over 6x6 as I just couldn't cut the paper. I stitched a 4.5 x 4.5" panel into the middle. I distressed a white doily and slipped it behind the image.

My embellishment are made up of Prima & Wild Orchid Crafts flowers, buttons threaded with scrappers floss, leaves cut from Whiff of Joy's leaves die and luxurious brads.

The sentiment is from Waltzing Mouse's "Compliments of the Season" set.

I am entering this into the ABC DT Challenge - Non Traditional Colours

Copics -
Skin: E21, 51, 00, 000 & 02
Dress/Shoes: R30, 20, 12, 01
Top/Ribbon/Trim: Y28, 26, 21
Hair: E53, 51, 50
Leaves: G85, 82
Berries: R24

Thanks for popping in. Have a great day

Anyone for Anya - and the one that *almost* got away ;)

Good morning!! I have 2 DT cards to share today. This week on Anyone for Anya we would like you to use Kraft card on your project.

For my card I used a Kraft journalling ticket, tucked in behind my patterned papers. I used another image from the Sisters set I bought recently - these are just too cute for words.

My papers are BG Jovial and I've used the MS Garden Trellis punch on the top and bottom of my top layer.  To embellish I used some Prima e.line crystal swirls, sheer & grosgrain ribbon, pearl spray & self adhesive pearls. The sentiment is by Lili of the Valley.

Our sponsor this week is Hobbystempels

And the prize is a set of sentiment stamps from The Greeting Farm!

Stampin' for the Weekend

I was so tired after my trip to the NEC that I totally forgot to do my blog post last Friday... ooops!! Better late than never?? lol.

For this fortnight's challenge on Stampin' for the Weekend we have a sketch with a twist, and the twist is that you need to use a butterfly somewhere on your card/layout/altered item.

We are being sponsored by our regular monthly sponsor

Photobucket

and the prize is a $25 voucher to spend in their store.

Again, I used BG Jovial. My sentiment is from Waltzing Mouse Stamps and I stamped it using Fired Brick distress inks. This set is compatible with the heart nestabilities.  I distressed all the edges of my papers with my scissors and lightly inked them. My butterfly is punched out from the MS Glassene punch and the lace is from Craft Brulee.

Thanks for popping in this morning. Please do pay my teamies a visit, they work so hard to create inspirational projects for you all.

I will be back a little later today for the Waltzing Mouse release day festivities - don't forget 7PM GMT the new sets will be revealed :)

Until then - have a great Sunday!!

A little bit of catching up..

Good morning! I'm playing catch up today, I felt so awful on Thursday night and yesterday, I just couldn't face doing a blog post. Happy to say I feel a lot better this morning. Apologies in advance for the loooooooooooooong post.

So first off today a quick reminder that the Waltzing Mouse Blog Waltz threads are up in the Waltzingmouse Forum - Playroom:Blog Waltzes for you to link your blog if you are joining us for the waltz on Sunday. As always there will be fun and prizes :)

The challenge for this week is Male Birthday card - which 90% of us struggle with, lol.

These Greeting Farm stamps come to my rescue every time I get a male birthday challenge - they are just perfect for teenagers.
Most of the supplies I used on this card are available over @ Crafty Emma's Store and right now there is 10% off of everything in store!!

Our challenge this fortnight is Halloween/Fall. Fall can be anything that represents this time of year - harvesting, fall colours, colder/wetter weather.. the choices are endless. We are being sponsored by KLM Designs and the prize is $10 to spend in store. My cards today both have KLM Designs images.

Challenges:
Oh la la - Nothing Floral
Stamp Something - Halloween Somethings

Paper Sundaes - Change of Season

Stampin' for the Weekend - Autumn Inspiration

Good afternoon bloggers!! I've ranted and raved about silly Blogger on my other blog so I won't start again but let it be noted that I'm extremely stressed out today, lol.

Our challenge on Stampin' for the Weekend is Autumn Inspiration. We would like you to use the wonderful oranges, greens & browns of autumn on your creation.

Don't you just love this Maggie??!! It's an oldie but a goodie - I bought her on ebay a while back.  I've coloured her using copic sketch markers, cut her out using my circle nesties and shaded the background with distress inks.

My papers are Basic Grey Mellow.. and they are another of my favourite BG lines. They've been inked with brushed cordoroy. The ribbons are from one of the Raspberry Ribbons kits and my flowers are of course from Wild Orchid Crafts - I think they're missing some green though.  hmmm!!

I'm entering this into the Simon Says Stamp Challenge which is an Autumn photo inspiration challenge,  Copic Creations Challenge who want to see orange (fall/halloween), and Just Magnolia's monthly challenge Anything Goes

Oh lord, it's taken me so long to get this post done.. it's 1pm and I've done nothing else all day.. OK, off to whip the house into shape before the kiddos get home and wreck it again!

Please do take a little time to visit my teamies' blogs and leave them some love:)

TGIF!!!

I'll start with CES Challenges and our theme is BABY BONANZA.

I am also entering this card in to the Waltzing Mouse Sketches challenge.

My papers are Pink Paislee 'Cupid' and they've been inked with Antique Linen distress ink. I used both lace and pale pink sheer ribbon - I love how lush they are together!! I made the tag myself and stamped a Studio G sentiment on it. The image stamp is one from a huge box of wooden stamps I bought on QVC aaaaaages ago!

The prize for this challenge is a set of gorgeous fabric brads and ribbons by My Mind's Eye.

Next up is Stampin' for the Weekend and our challenge this week is TAG IT. Quite simply, use a tag on your creation.

We are being sponsored by Meljen's Designs and my cute image is called Cuddle Cloud Baby. I've coloured it using copic sketch markers. My papers are MeLody Ross 'Homespun Chic' and they've been distressed with Victorian Velvet. To embellish I've added some Wild Orchid Crafts flowers, some pearl spray and a butterfly that's been punched out using the X- cut 3D punch.

Stampin' for the Weekend - Anything Goes

Happy Friday!!

Well only another week and a half until the little ones are back in school. Life is very, very busy right now and I'm sure I'm not the only one, so to make things a bit easier we have an ANYTHING GOES challenge on Stampin' for the Weekend this week.

I recently purchased some Kenny K images but haven't had time to play with them so I decided to use one for my card this week. I have to say I really love these images. My daughter picked which one I had to use as she said it's her, lol.

I used the sketch on Sunday Sketch & Stamp and followed the challenge on Kenny K's challenge blog which was BOLD & BRIGHT. The colours I've used are certainly bolder and brighter than I'd normally use... this challenge dragged me  right out of my comfort zone!!

My papers are Basic Grey Olivia, LOVE THEM!! The colours are just fantastic!! I used copic markers on my image and added some star dust stickles to the ice cream :)

The flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts and I'm also going to enter their challenge ONE FOR THE GIRLS.

The pearls are from a prima swirl, the ribbon and sentiment are from my stash.

Thanks for visiting! Have a wonderful weekend.

Stampin' for the Weekend - Back to School

Woo hoo, it's nearly that time again! The kids are back to school in 3 weeks and it's not a moment too soon. Rain for most of the summer (again) has left them stuck indoors and very hard to amuse. Ok, so I'll miss the morning lie ins, the pj days, the easy going routine but I won't miss the fighting, crying, whining and screaming!!! Love my kids really :)

Anyhoooo.. enough of my rambling. The challenge on Stampin' for the Weekend for this fortnight is Back to School.

We are sponsored by Simon Says Stamp, our very generous monthly sponsor and the prize up for grabs is a $25 voucher to spend in their online store!! With all the new CHA stuff coming out this is definitely a prize to have :D

My background paper is from Kaisercraft and is called Simon Says (how apt, lol) and I've paired it with some Bo Bunny "Sophie" and brown cardstock.

The cute image is from The Greeting Farm and she's been coloured using copic markers. I used nesties Labels 2 to cut out my image and shaded the background with Spun Sugar and Victorian Velvet distress ink.

Both ribbons, button threaded with scrappers floss, Wild Orchid flowers and pink crystal gems are from my stash.

Copics Used:
Skin: E11, E21, E51, E00, E000
Cheeks: E02
Skirt & Hairclip: E15, E18
Shirt: R81, R83, R85
Hair: E50, E53, E45

Stamp Something Challenges, Stampin' for the Weekend & PaperPlay

Good morning!
Well here we are, another Friday, can you believe it's already June?! My older boys are out of school for the summer and the little man will be finished in another 3 weeks.

It's been a bit of a rollercoaster week. My brother's best friend died on Monday and it threw me all out. I have no concentration and have found it so hard to get my DT work done this week.

On a happier note, my little one has her introduction day today for 'big school' in September. It would all be good only we've been informed that we need to 'drop and go'.. *deep breath... hold... exhale...* We've also been told that we shouldn't hang around the windows.. dang!! lol!!

Enough waffling......

I have 3 cards to share today so apologies for the long post. I'll keep the blurb to a minimum .. like I have so far, right?!! lol!!

First is my PaperPlay which should have been posted yesterday, but like I've said.. I couldn't get my head straight all week.

We are being sponsored by our regular monthly sponsor, Stitchy Bear Stamps. Our winner will recieve 4 gorgeous images, hand picked by me :)

I am also entering it into Crafty Alley's challenge which is  the sketch I've used, and into Scrap Whispers challenge "Something New" - All 3 images I've used on my cards today are new.

I added stickles to her dress and hair bands, and around the sentiment for loads of sparkle.

Image: Mo Manning
Papers: Magnolia
Tools: Circle/scalloped circle nesties, cuttlebug, copic markers, stickles.
Ribbon and flowers from my stash.

*********************

It's Stamp Something's first digi day!!!  We want you to use a digi on your creation.

Our sponsors include Some Odd Girl, Bugaboo, Di's digis, Sew Many and Meljen Designs

I messed up a little here as I was supposed to use a different image, by Some Odd Girl, but again.. head all over the place this week. I had her coloured up and ready to go and then got totally side-tracked and ended up using this cutie by Meljens Designs

I went a little bit MS crazy and punched out 3 rows with the Doily Lace punch. The image is coloured with copic markers, backed with bazzil and then mounted on 3D foam dots. The butterfly punch is also from MS. The papers are PM Rose Garden.. I seriously need more of this!!

Stamp Something also have a DT call open. I can't believe it's been almost 6mths since I joined up and I shall miss it very much when my time is done. You can check out the details HERE.
***********************

Last, but by no means least, is my Stampin' for the Weekend.

Our theme this week is Summer/Travel and we are being sponsored by Simon Says Stamp!!

The very lucky winner will recieve a $25 store coupon and shipping is also free!! How great is that??!!

I went with the Summer theme!! I used another Mo's image on this one. She is called Finna and  I was very lucky to get her free on Facebook, thank you so much Mo!! She's been coloured with copic markers and the sentiment is a Studio G. My papers are BG Kioshi, love them!! The flowers are Prima and I've added a Kaisercraft pearl in the centre. The ribbon is American Crafts.

Well I hope you are still with me, lol..... Please do hop over to all of my teamies' blogs and leave them a little love. Don't forget that there are 2 DT calls out, on PaperPlay and on Stamp Something. If you fancy your chances  then pop over to their blogs for all the details.

Have an absolutely fantastic weekend and happy crafting!!

Stampin' for the Weekend DT & Stamp Something DT

Good morning!! If you're looking for the Stamp Something blog hop then please scroll down to the previous post.

Today I have 2 cards to share, both DT cards.

First up is Stampin' for the Weekend. Our challenge to you this week is to make a card that will put a smile on someone's face, cheer them up!

There is a 2nd part to this challenge, which is optional - we would love if you were to mail your card to a child on the Post Pals site. You could even make the card with a specific child in mind. It would really make their day!

All we ask is that you keep images and messages light and child friendly :)

The design team have each made a card for a specific child on the Post Pals site and we will be mailing our cards to them.

About Post Pals:
Post Pals is an organisation that was set up to create smiles for children who suffer from life threatening and long term illnesses. We ask people to log on to send the children featured on the website ‘happy post’. When a child is very ill, often a visit from the postman can make their day. A cheery card or letter can make them feel less alone and bring welcome distraction from what they go through each day.

We are being sponsored by the wonderful Katharina from Whiff of Joy and she has very genrously offered THREE stamps up for the prize, 2 of which are from the Happy Mail Collection. Please check out the SFTW blog to see which stamps they are :) I have used one on my card today.

I made my card for Alice P. Alice herself loves card making so I hope my card can give her a litle inspiration while also putting a smile on her face.

I am also entering this card into the Whiff of Joy Challenge which is "Brown, Yellow and a Colour of your choice"  -  I chose green.

**************************

Next up is Stamp Something - and our challenge this week is "2 of Something". I've used 2 patterned papers and my image is of 2 little people :)
We are being sponored by Karen's Doodles

My image is from Karen's store. It is called First Kiss - aren't they little cuties!! I have coloured using copic sketch markers. Added a little stickles here and there for a bit of sparkle ;)

The 'admit one' ticket is a Tim Holtz stamp which I've stamped using Momento Cocoa ink and distressed with Antique Linen. I've sewn the heart button on to the ribbon to keep it in place. They are both gifts I recieved from kind friends.

The papers are Hampstead by PaperMania.. I'm loving the designer ranges they are coming up with lately. They are also textured and feel very luxurious!! My flowers have been inked and stickled .. boy do I go through a lot of stickles, lol!!

Thanks so much for visiting me today. Please don't be shy - say hello :)

Don't forget that Stamp Something are having a blog hop this week to celebrate their 2nd birthday!! Some of the DT are offering candy on their own blogs and Simon Says Stamp are offering $20 gift coupon for our overall winner on the Stamp Something blog! My candy is of the surprise variety!! I LOVE surprises and I also love to send surprises!! Leave a comment on my blog hop post below to be in with a chance of winning a ... well you'll have to wait and see, won't you, lol!!

Have fun and happy crafting!
