Just Magnolia Week 38

Yay, I finally got a card made!! It took me nearly 3 days of going back and forth to it while I was nursing a burned hand and doing a million other things but I got it finished eventually, lol.

There is a wonderful sketch by Mina over on Just Magnolia this week. I used Edwin from the Winter Magnolia Kit and coloured him with both copic markers and distress inks and then added Frosted Lace stickles to his wings. I cut him out and mounted him on an oval chipboard that I had painted with crackle paint. I rubbed antique linen ink into the oval to make the cracks more visable. I then added some white ribbon and secured it with a snowflake brad. I finished the oval off by adding Picket Fence distress stickles.

My papers are Figgy Pudding, which are one of my all time favourite Christmas paper collections. I distressed them with the Heidi Swapp edge distresser and then edged them with Vintage Photo. I also distressed the white flower with Pine Needles and added a button, which I had theaded with scrappers floss, to the centre of the flower.. then I added 4 self adhesive vellum flowers to complete the sketch.

I am also entering this into Crafty Creations Challenge as their challenge this week has NO RULES. Just create something and share it with them. Great challenge for such a busy time :)

SALE, SALE, SALE!!!

Stampin' for the Weekend, some challenges & some news :)

Before I get to my cards for today I would like to share some exciting news... The fabulous Denise and Erin from Stamp Something Challenges have asked me to join their DT!! I am delighted to have made the team and look forward to getting started in January with all of the new ladies!!

This week we'd like to see a Calendar for the New Year, It can be a layout of some kind with a 12 page calendar, or if your feeling particularly adventurous you can do 12 separate cards or layouts. This challenge will run for 2 weeks and is being sponsored by Kay from Toodles and Binks.

I used one of the new Magnolias from the Winter/Christmas Kit... not sure what she's called, lol. I've coloured her using Copic markers and added some Inkssentials white gel pen to give her some depth. I covered a coaster with BG Eskimo kisses papers and printed out a 12mth calendar. I then punched holes using my crop-a-dile and theaded some red string through. The '2010' are leather thickers that I edged using pink Copics. I finished it off using the most gorgeous little pearl hearts.

If anyone would like the template to the calendar just msg me with your email addy and I'll send it on to you. It's in MS Excel format :)

Don't forget to pop over to the other SFTW ladies blog's to see what they've created. Our Guest Designers are Tanja and Sharon and we also have 5 new DT members announced on the Stampin' for the Weekend Blog.

I made this card earlier in the week (like last Sunday!!) but haven't had a chance to post it until now. I had planned to enter it into a combo of challenges but I missed the deadline on Friday Sketchers with their fabby sketch and Papertake Weekly with Red & Green should not be seen.

But I am in time for Anyone for Anya's challenge with is Bling it On and Basic Grey's challenge which is to use a colour combo of Cream, Pink and Blue. I used BG's Eskimo Kisses papers with  one of The Greeting Farm's "Rain Snow Shine" Anyas. I've coloured her using Copic markers and added Polar White flowersoft to give her handmuff, coat trim and boots a soft fluffy effect.

The big flowers and tulle are from Tabby Crafts. I added smaller roses in the centre and then stickled them all with Star Dust stickles to add some bling!!

Well that's it from me for today. I have a  very busy day planned... baking, cleaning, etc as my baby girl's 4th birthday party is tomorrow. I do hope to get some blog hopping done over the day though ;)

And serioulsy, I cannot believe it's only ONE WEEK to Christmas... eeeeeek!!

Have a wonderful Friday and happy crafting!!

Crafty Angels meets Just Magnolia

Good morning! Oooh, it's getting very close to Christmas now and my kids are beyond excited. Every day I'm asked how many more days it is until Santa comes to them. I love the excitment on their faces. We have our tree and decorations up but still have some painting to get finished this week. The festive season sure brings a lot of work with it, lol.

Today's card is for Crafty Angels and Just Magnolia. It was my turn to set the challenge on Crafty Angels and this week we'd like to see you TEAR up your papers. That's right, chuck away the paper trimmers, haha!!

Over on Just Magnolia they have asked for projects with a Christmas theme!!

I used the fabulous Bo Bunny Snowy Serenade papers and Unwapped Tilda. I coloured my image with copic markers and I edged my papers with Vintage Photo distress ink.

The big flower, tulle and the gorgeous gem topped pins are from Tabby Crafts and the purple/blue roses are from my stash. I used Star Dust stickles to give the flowers some sparkle.

Well I've got to love you and leave you.. my paintbrush is waiting, lol. Have a terrific Monday and happy crafting!

A combo of challenges....

Good morning and happy Tuesday. Today I have 2 cards I'd like to share with you all. The first is one I made for my Crafty Angels DT project - a sketch by Laura.

I am also entering into Anyone for Anya challenge whose theme is Anything Goes, and Cute Card Thursday with their challenge, Swirly Girly.

I used one of the sweet Anyas from the Miss Anya Dressy collection by The Greeting Farm. These are just wonderful images to work with.

I coloured my image with copic markers and distressed my papers with distress inks, then I edged them with vintage photo. The papers are from MME Christmas Glitter Stack. The sentiment is SeeD's.

My next card is for both Basic Grey and Just Magnolia challenges. I followed the sketch on BG and worked to Just Magnolia criteria which was to create a card for someone special. My papers are Basic Grey's Eskimo Kisses and the image is Tilda with Gift. Again, I used copic markers to colour my image and distress inks on my papers. I applied some Star Dust stickles to the trim on Tilda's hat and coat.. and to the flower on the gift. The sentiment is from a wonderful 'secret' set by Waltzing Mouse. You can see it HERE (password is
 ibelieveinsantaclaus )

I am having my chimney cleaned this morning so I will be spending my afternoon washing down the sitting room.. then we are FINALLY putting up our christmas tree and decorations. I can't wait!! :D

Have a wonderful Tuesday!!

My card today is for Whiff of Joy Challenges with Marga's fabby sketch, Stamp Something with their theme Glitzy Somethings and Simon Says Stamp who have asked for Charms.

I made an easel card using MME papers and Wee on Reindeer. I coloured my image with copic markers and shaded the background using distress inks. I used my scissors to distress the papers and then edged them with Vintage Photo.

A close up of the glitzed up flowers and papers.... I used stickles and crystal gems for sparkle

The christmas tree charm from The Hobby House....

Friday Sketchers meets Stamp with Fun and a DT call.

OMGosh, have I had a bad week. On top of everything else I've had the tummy bug doing the rounds of my house since last Friday. All six of us have caught it, one after the other. I thought my little one would escape but she's been up all night :( Surely it can only get better from here on??!! Anyhooooo, you didn't come here to listen to  me whine..lol.

I made my card today for 2 challenges; Friday Sketchers with their wonderful sketch and Stamp with Fun with their theme "x-mas".

I used this uber cute Manga Girl (SN) stamp called Miss Clause and coloured her using copic markers. Then I added liquid appliqe to trim on her boots and dress. A quick blast of the heat gun and it had all puffed up nicely. I punched out some snowflakes with a MS punch and added Icicle stickles. My papers are We R Memory Keepers and I distressed them with an edge distresser and some vintage photo distress ink.

TFL :)
