In Love with Stamping - Challenge night

Yesterday evening I came across a link on Facebook to In Love With Stamping and they were holding a challenge from 7pm-midnight. Now I totally missed the whole concept in that it was speed rounds, and I happily plodded along making ONE entry for each challenge, lol. However Victoria (Blue Jelly) could have easily won on her own for the team.. and thankfully I was on her team *big grin* because we won!!

The first round was a bit daunting as I've never used the 'baby wipe' technique before.

So, for anyone else who's not heard of this technique, I've done a step-by-step this morning to show how it's done.

I used it twice throughout the challenge, and made 2 tags. On this first one I used the baby wipes on my quotation stamp...
And on this second one, which was for Challenge 3- "Punch Art" I used the baby wipes to do the background colouring.

What  you need:
Re-inkers
2-3 Baby Wipes
Mask
Tag
Distress ink & ink blender

You can also use markers if you don't have re-inkers. Just scribble your markers across an acrylic block or similar and then use the baby wipe to pick up the colours :)

TH mask over the tag

A few drops of reinkers, I used 5 colours

Dab the baby wipes all around the tag

This is what you get when you remove the mask

To distress it I used Brushed Cordoroy

Once it's distressed you can stamp/embellish it to your own taste :)

I'm entering my oh so distressed tags into the Simon Says Challenge with their theme  "So Distressing"

I'll be back in a little while with the rest of my entries into last night's challenge.
Happy Easter!!
