It's a Competition!!

Okay my lovely Bloggers, I need your votes!! Daintree Wedding Hub are running a competition and I was one of 10 lucky recipients of a kit to work with. We all got the same kit and had to make a wedding project from it.

Before I get to the project deets, here's how you can vote for me

Simple as that!! Feel free to Share it too, every little helps ;)

Voting will end this coming Monday, Sept 2nd so there are only a few more days.

So this is my entry!! I altered papier mache box and created a matching Pillow Box.

First I distress painted the box with a baby wipe and some white acrylic paint. Then I covered it with the patterned papers. The square that holds the wedding photo can be removed to add your own photo :)

I layered on a little bit of cream lace and some of the ribbons which were in the kit. The rolled roses, open leaf flourish and banner are all dies from La-La Land Crafts. The roses are made from more of the kit supplies and leaf flourish is from some brown paper, also in the kit.

For the Pillow box, I used the same dies but added a little bow made from more of the kit ribbon. The Congratulations sentiment is from Waltzingmouse Stamps' "Tying the Knot" stamp set.

Thank you so much for dropping by, and if you've already voted, THANK YOU!!!

Just for You

Hi everyone!! I am popping in very quickly with a little something to share. My kiddos are back to school tomorrow and guess who hates covering books SO much that they have left it to the last day?? *eek!!* Doesn't matter that I bought the books 2 months ago, and I swore I would cover them early. DID NOT HAPPEN!! lol. In fact, I'm still procrastinating over it....

Anywhoooo, my card features Rose, one of the beautiful Gorjuss Girls

I stamped her out onto Make it Colour Blending card and coloured her up with copic markers. My papers are from Prima's Fairy Rhymes collection and I've matted it wtih white and craft cardstock from Papermill Direct.

The sentiment is from Waltzingmouse Stamps, Compact Sentiments set. To embellish I added some Wild Orchid Craft flowers, a flossed button and white pearls.

Have a great day!!

The Greeting Farm Farm Fresh Friday - Back to School

Good morning!!! TGIF!! This week The Greeting Farm's Farm Fresh Friday is

BACK TO SCHOOL!!

My little ones go back on August 29th. This is the first time I ever remember them going back in August and it's hard to wrap my head around. I am looking forward to having a little time for myself but I am sure gonna miss the lazy days of no routine, no homework, no uniforms & no school runs! However, it's been a long summer and they are keen to see their school friends again.

I made a circle card featuring Cheeky Lessons - I just adore this cutie.

I stamped my image onto Make it Colour blending card and coloured her up with copic markers. I used both Classic and Scalloped Nestabilities to cut out the card base and front. To embellish I added a little bit of lace, layered up with red ribbon and added a star charm tied with twine and some pearls.

Here's how to play:
*You must use a TGF stamp (rubber, digi, or clear) as your main image.
*Entries must be uploaded via InLinkz no later than Thursday, August 29th at NOON CST.
*You can add a direct link to your entry from your personal blog, SCS gallery, Flickr or TGF galleria. (If the InLinkz tool is missing, feel free to link your submission URL in the comment section!)
*The fabulous prize: A random participant will be selected to win their choice of an in-stock SINGLE RUBBER STAMP or a 4x6 set!

Have a great Friday!!

Coffee and Friends - Uptown Girls

Hi! Today I have a card to share which features Clarissa and Camille Share a Cafe, one of the fabulous Uptown Girls stamps from Stamping Bella.

The stamp comes with an awesome sentiment "Coffee and Friends, a perfect blend", but I got so carried away with my card that I forgot to add the sentiment, lol.

I stamped my image onto Make it Colour Blending card with memento black ink and coloured it up with copic markers. I applied glossy accents to the 'bubbles' on the coffee cup, for added texture, but I can't pic it up with the camera :(

The papers I've used are from both the Fact and Fiction collections by Basic Grey. To embellish I added some flowers, pearls, chipboard shapes, a Prima button flossed with twine, and some ribbon.

Other Products used:
Cardstock - Papermill Direct
Flowers - Wild Orchid Crafts
Ribbon & Twine - May Arts

Have a great day!!

Keeping things Simple - Papermill Direct

Hi everyone! Today I have a few cards to share with you.

With so many wonderful patterned papers out there to choose from we tend to under utilize our cardstock so I have made my cards using only card, dies, embossing folders, and minimal embellishments. And with the economy such as it is, and the ever tightening of our crafty budgets, using cardstock is also a much cheaper alternative to those expensive paper pads - you can still have amazing results.

On my first card I used Mocha Brown and Rich Cream card. I embossed the front panel leaving a little space at the bottom to add my sentiment, which I stamped out using Cocoa Brown ink. I then stamped and hand cut the heart which is from My Heart by Waltzingmouse Stamps and adhered it with 3D foam. Then I layered on the HUSBAND across the heart.

Anniversary -WMS

I used the same  supplies on my 2nd and 3rd card, but different colours and design. I used embossing folders, a border punch, dies (Bird on a Branch by Tonic Studios) and I added a little ribbon/pearls to keep them simple. The sentiment on both cards is from Waltzingmouse Stamps.

Mocha Brown, Rich Cream & Buff Kraft card
To emboss the background i used a brick wall folder, then added a layer embossed with the Swiss Dots folder. I punched out 2 borders and layered them on too. When I cut out the birds I then embossed those also, with a Music Note folder. The birds are adhered with 3D foam. The sentiment scroll is tucked between the two borders. To embellish I simply added some sateen ribbon tied into a bow.

Tonic - PMD

Black & White Hammered card
I kept this card really CAS. There is no embossing at all. The birds are on 3D foam, as is the sentiment scroll and all I added to the card was some 3mm white pearls.  Love the black and white elegance.

Tonic B&W - PMD

So there you have it, 3 very quick and easy cards using just cardstock and some other basic supplies. Simple, elegant and they won't break the bank ;)

Have a great day

Good morning bloggers!! We are on Day Three, which is the final day, of the Waltzingmouse Stamps August Release previews. Today we are showcasing three more stamp sets - Big Day - Today, Pinstripe Backgrounder, Zig-Zag Backgrounder

Both of my cards today feature stamps from both the Big Day - Today and Pinstripe Backgrounder sets.
The first is a baby card to which I have also added Nordic Baby into the mix - I just adore those little baby shoes :D  I went with lots of layers, tags, flowers, pearls, ribbon, lace and pearls.

My second card also features Fine Feathers, one of the July release stamp sets and I kept it CAS. I stamped out the feather and cut it out with a scissors. The stripe panel is popped up on 3D foam, as is the feather, so there is lots of dimension. The green panel has been embossed with a Script embossing folder.

Paperbabe Stamps August Release Previews - Oriental Zen

Hi everyone! Today I have a card to share which features the new release stamps from Paperbabe Stamps. Oriental Zen. These will be available to purchase from August 9th.

I used a red card base of 120mm x 148mm. For the front panel I built up the background with Tumbled Glass distress ink and left a strip blank for the sentiment. The sentiment is from the Tree Hugs stamp set. For the flower I used Fired Brick and Peeled Paint distress ink. I layered the front panel on with 3D foam so that it pops up from the base.

Little Darlings Rubber Stamps - Friendship

I altered  an MDF wall sign and featured one of the new CHA release images by Little Darlings Rubber Stamps - Puppy Love, and one of the fabulous sentiments from Big Words set.

I applied a layer of white paint to the MDF before covering it with papers from the Chocolate Covered Cherry 6x6 collection. I stamped Puppy Love onto Make it Colour blending card and coloured her with Copic markers, then I sponged the background with Tumbled Glass Distress ink before removing the circle die, thus leaving a white border all around. I then layered it onto a white doily using 3D foam for depth and dimension.

To embellish I added some lace, Wild Orchid Crafts and Prima flowers, a sateen bow and a heart charm flossed with twine.
