Colo{u}r Me Creative & Basic Grey Challenges

Good morning! We have a new challenge over on Colo{u}r me Creative - Winged Things with Butterfly Inspiration. You don't necessarily have to use butterflies, you can use any winged thing.

We are being sponsored by the very lovely Zoe from Make it Crafty and she has kindly given the DT some fabulous images to work with. I have merged 3 images together to create my scene - Notti, Snap Dragon Garden and Whimsical Mushroom.

I kept my layout very clean and simple so as not to take away from the image. I've coloured the image using copic markers - way too many to list - and created the sky with Tumbled Glass distress ink and a large brush.

The papers are from one of my My Mind's Eye's new collections, Lost & Found2 "Breeze" and I've machine stitched them down onto dark blue cardstock from The Paper Mill. The fabric strip and flossed button are from my stash.

And of course no winged image is complete without some Star Dust Stickles applied to make their wings magic ;)

Basic Grey Challenges
This week on Basic Grey Challenges we have a free for all .. yep, Anything Goes this week.. as long as you use Basic Grey products somewhere on your creation that is ;)

I got some new Sassys in the mail this week and have been having lots of fun inking them up! This little beauty is called City Girl.

My papers are scraps of Basic Grey 'Granola' that I had left. They are usually one of my GoTo boy papers but I followed the sketch over on The Sugar Bowl and they have an optional colour theme of Blue, and I thought these papers worked well with the blue image. I used a scrap of white card and my MS Cornice punch to do the border work.

Pearls - Kaisercraft
Ribbon, Button & Heart Pin - Stash.

Make it Colourful - Cast your Shadow

Hi everyone!! A very quick post from me just to share a card I made for Make it Colourful. The challenge is to 'cast your shadow' onto the ground and objects.

I merged my 2 images - Notti and the treasure chest  - and had it coloured up for Make it Crafty's Facebook challenge - which is themed Favourite Colours {Teal & Mustard!!} - and then I created the background and shadows so that I could enter the Make it Colourful challenge.

The papers I've used are a mix of Karen Foster and.. I think... Once Upon a Time from DCWV. I've had them both for a long long long time. I matted them onto brown cardstock and machine stitched them down. My card base is kraft.

For the sand I used E50 & 51 and for the shadows I used E53, blended out at the edges with E51. I also added shadow from Notti, the coins and the jewels on the sand. All of my metal embellishments are from Tim Holtz's Idea-ology range and the jute is from my stash.

Copics Used:
Skin - E00, 01, 11. R20
Hair - E42, 43, 44
Pants - BG70, 72 & 75
Shirt - YR21, 23, &24 with YR18 for the darkest areas.
