Stamp Something Delightfully Delicious & CHA Relay Day 4

Yay, another Friday and another challenge on Stamp Something!!

This week we are sponsored by Digital Delights and Wendy has given the team some images to work with. In line with our theme this week, which is Delightfully Delicious, I chose Chef Luigi.

I coloured my image using distress inks and shaded the background with Tattered Rose. I've had these PM Sweet Nothings papers forever, still not sure I like them but they suited my image. The flowers are Prima Hydrangeas and the sentiment is a Studio G.

The Greeting Farm CHA Rally

Due to server overload that kept crashing the gallery the CHA Rally had to be terminated :(
However we did get Prince Ian to work with and he is a free download on TGF blog at the moment, so be quick if you want him.

Papers: Prima
Lace: Tabby Crafts
Tools: Cuttlebug, Nestabilities circle & curved rectangle, MS Punch

PaperPlay Challenges with a Whiff of Joy & A spoonful of sugar :)

Good morning! A relatively quick post from me today as I have so much to do.. and so little time in which to do it.

Today's card is my PaperPlay Challenges DT project and my entry into Whiff of Joy's challenge which is a great sketch by Gio. I am also entering it into A Spoon Full of Sugar's Challenge which is 'Freestyle'

I used Willow with Flower Basket and she is coloured using distress inks. I've edged my papers, which are BG Porcelain, with Vintage Photo.

I used a selection of flowers from Wild Orchid Crafts and a litte pearl spray... no stickles this time :) The adage ticket is from Tim Holtz Idea-ology range.

OK, I'm off to get some work done so that I can play a little later. I have the 4th image from The Greeting Farm's CHA Challenge and need to get that done to move  onto the next round. I will get to visit some of your blogs a little later too!!

Have a great Thursday and Happy Crafting :)

TGF CHA Relay and an award

The Greeting Farm have a great competition going on while they are at CHA. Each day they are giving a free digi image to work with. You have to complete a project with the image, post it to their gallery by 6pm EST, and then link it on their blog to get the next image. All the details are HERE.

The first image was Mer Ian

Because I don't have the correct printer (roll on my birthday!!) I had to heat emboss the images before colouring them with distress inks.

On this card I made little circles with buttons to resemble waves/water. Ingenious idea, right?? .. Well it wasn't my idea, lol. My good friend Dee Dee used this last year on a commissioned mini album and when I saw Mer Ian it was the first thing that popped into my mind.  So thank you Dee2 for one of your many wonderful ideas :)

My papers are from the Planes and Trains collection by G.C.D Studios and I followed the sketch on Creative Inspirations. I printed out the sentiment. The twine and buttons are from my stash.

Monday's image was Charlotte

Ugh, I don't know what's up with my camera but this is dull, dull, dull compared to IRL. Maybe it needs to be cleaned.. hmmm.

These papers are from We R Memory Keepers "Madame Royale". I sanded the edges and then inked them with Vintage Photo. Did a little bit of ripping too. I added some pearls and cherry blossoms and finished with printing and embossing my sentiment.

This has been uploaded to TGF Gallery and have just recieved my 3rd image to work on :) Boy are they fast!!

I was given this lovely award by Heather and now have to share 10 things that give me pleasure with you all before passing it onto 10 other bloggers.

So here goes....
  1. Being with my family
  2. Enjoying the company of friends
  3. Being a SAHM
  4. Seeing my kids smile
  5. Crafting, especially colouring images. I find it sooooo theraputic
  6. Blogging, and all the great friends I've made
  7. Listening to music
  8. Photographs -I love looking through people's photos
  9. Going out
  10. Not having to get up early on weekend mornings!!!!!

And the 10 bloggers I'd like to pass it on to are

There are about 1000 other people I could give it to but the rules state 10.

Wow, I started this blog post over 4hrs ago and between tending to the kids and doing the school runs I am only now finishing it... yikes!! Have a great Tuesday - well what's left of it anyway :)

Crafty Angels DT-Magnolia Challenges & PTW again :)

Happy Monday!! I have to admit that I'm actually a fan of Mondays. The kids are back in school, the house has returned to some semblence of normality and I can finally get some down time :)

This past weekend was a very busy one. Saturday started off with an early wake up call from a very talkative 6yr old (I don't know where he gets it from!! :P ) He was excited about going to see Alvin & the Chipmunks. After last week's disappointment with it being sold out I pre-booked the tickets this week AND I invited his 2 cousins along. The movie was hilarious and they all had a fun time!!

Yesterday I travelled to Galway. Finally... after the floods, the weeks of sub zero temps and everything else Mother Nature threw at us I got to do my mini book class.... phew!! It was a long day but I totally enjoyed it. Pics to follow ;)

Sorry for waffling... onto the topic at hand.....

This week on Crafty Angels Laura has set us a challenge of Paperfolding. No pre-creased card allowed, we've got to make our own shaped card. So on to Splitcoast I went... and this is what I decided to make. A Joy Fold card.

Such a simple, yet wonderful idea. The instructions are HERE

I used BG Bittersweet papers with some pink and some brown card. My image is a very cute Valentine Tilda from my Winter Kit. She has been coloured using distress inks (my poor copics are feeling very neglected lately!). I distressed the background with Tattered Rose and edged all of my papers with Vintage Photo. The sentiment inside reads 'Sealed with a Loving Kiss'. The ribbon, placed slightly overlapping the top layer, keeps it all closed together and there is no need to open the ribbon, just slide is down a little.

This is also my entry for

Magnolia Down Under Challenges (Valentine),
Simon Says Stamp(Punch it)
Magnolia-licious Highlights (Pretty in Pink)
and ANOTHER entry for Papertake Weekly's Challenge (Pretty Pink Paptertake. I'm seriously thinking that I use too much pink!... NAH!! How could you have too much pink in your life??!! lol

Thanks for visiting my blog today and I hope you have a great Monday :) Please do check out Caz and Kate's blogs to see what they've created for this challenge.

Whiff of Joy meets Papertake Weekly & Simon Says

Hello and happy Saturday!! Since I'm here blogging it's safe to assume I'm NOT at CHA :(  Can't you just imagine what we're all missing??!!!

Anyhooo onto  my project which I made for the Whiff of Joy challenge. This week you have two choices 1) Use four PP, three bling & two flowers or 2) Use three PP, two bling and one flower.  I went with option 1

This is a flight ticket holder and inside I have put the booking form, confirmation letter, hotel/flight details, etc from my honeymoon (a long time ago!!). The stamp is from WOJ's new collection of Happy Mail images and  is called Charlotte riding Pidgeon & Sentiments. I have coloured my image with both distress inks and Twinkling H2Os.

For my three blings I have used a gem pin, a daisy head pin and some stickles on my flowers. The ticket is from Tim Holtz and I have distressed the edges with antique linen ink.

I am also entering this into the Papertake Weekly Challenge with their theme Pretty Pink Papertake and Simon Says Stamp Challenge "Punch It"

Tools used - Oval nestabilities, cuttlebug, MS Loops punch, McGill pine leaf punch
Papers - K&Company Sweet Talk
Ribbon - K&Company
Flowers - Wild Orchid Crafts

Whiff of Joy GD call

Well as promised this morning I am back with another card that I made for the Whiff of Joy GD call.

Every 2 months on the 16th Katharina will be holding a Guest Designer Call. The call will be open for 1 week and from that 1-3 Guest Designers will be selected to create cards or papercraft projects with Whiff of Joy’s newest stamps for the next 2 months until the next Guest Designers are chosen.

Exciting stuff, huh??!!

To enter the GD call all you have to do is create a project using the sketch that Katharina has provided on her blog and then provide a link to your entry using Mr. Linky.

So.. here is my take on the sketch..

I used one of the new Happy Mail stamps, which is called Charlotte with Large Letter, and I've coloured her using Twinkling H2O's and distress inks. I've also distressed all of my papers with Heidi Swapp edge distresser and both tattered rose & vintage photo inks. I love to stitch my papers when they are distressed.

I've sparkled up my flowers using star dust stickles and added some pearl spray and a WOJ daisy head pin. The cute heart pin is also a WOJ and was sent to me by my dear friend Sheila.

As always I finished off by adding some self adhesive flat-back pearls in various places around my card.

Best of luck to everyone who's entering, there are definitely some very talented crafters out there!!

Back tomorrow with yet another card I made this week, and got to finish off today as our internet was out, lol  :)

Oops!!

Happy Friday!!

This week on Stamp Something Challenges we'd like to see some Funny Somethings on your project.

Our sponsor is Sunshine & Giggles

I used a super-cute, super-funny image by Mo Manning called Sumpin's Up. I heat embossed and coloured it with distress inks. This is my first Digital Pencil digi and it certainly won't be my last. Laserjet printer on the list for my birthday :D

I also printed out the sentiment, made it into a tag and tied it on using string. The tag is up on pop dots which gives a 3D effect. I embellished with some buttons, a ribbon tab & pale green pearls.

My papers are Basic Grey Origins. I wasn't sure about these at all when I saw them online but IRL they are much nicer.. they do remind me somewhat of BG Mellow.

I am also entering this into Charisma Cards Challenge with their theme fruity colours (lemon & lime)

Tools used: Cuttlebug, Nestabilities Circle/Scallop Circle, Crop-a-dile.

Don't forget to pop over to my very talented team member's blogs to see what they've made for this challenge. Links over there -->

Anyone for Anya??

There is a colour combo challenge over on Anyone for Anya? this week - Black & White +1. I chose pink :D

I used one of the new Miss Anya Love images and coloured her using distress inks. I added heart gems to the centre of the flowers and distressed the background with Antique Linen.

I made the cute charm using my patterned paper, glossy accents and Tim Holtz fragments. The trinket pin is also from the TH range. I added some pink scalloped lace and black satin ribbon, love how they went together!! Then finished my card by adding some more heart gems.

This card also fits the Papertake Weekly challenge, Pretty Pink Papertake, so I am entering it into that too.

I will be back later with another card.. I couldn't get online much for the past few days, but I have been busy crafting while running around like a headless chicken.... so I am cramming again, lol !!

Crafty Angels - "Keep it Simple" & something different ;)

Our challenge over on Crafty Angels this week has been set by Caz and is themed 'Keeping it Simple. You can only use 1 piece of card, 1 patterned paper, 1 type of embellishment, 1 image and 1 sentiment....
although you don't have to use all of the above.

I have been wanting to try a Spring Card for ages now and finally took the plunge. Quite easy to make and I really like how it turned out.

Don't you just adore this cute Bildmalarna stamp??!! She is called Tossa Flower and she was in my DT kit from Crafty Angels. I coloured her using TH distress inks and copic markers. As we could only use one type of embellie I went with flowers (no big surprise there, eh?! lol) My sentiment is a Studio G.

I don't normally post my scrapbook layouts here as i have a (very neglected *blush*) scrappy blog but I wanted to enter this into the Simon Says Stamp challenge which is themed Shabby Chic.

My papers have been ripped, torn, distressed, stapled and generally abused by all things Tim Holtz, lol. And when I finished on the papers the flowers and journalling tag were next for an inking!! Love, love, love the lace I've used but that was the very last piece. I bought it in my local drapery store and they are sold out of it... *big tears*. My title is  made from chipboard Thickers. To finish off I just added some buttons, ribbon, pearls and pins.

Another one done for the scrapbook, only about 5000 more pictures to go!! ;)
Have  a fantabulous Tuesday and happy crafting!!

Stampin' for the Weekend, Stamp Something & more...

On Stampin' for the Weekend this week we have a wonderful sketch by Fiona for you to follow. You can flip, resize or rotate it but we must be able to see the original sketch.

Fiona is also sponsoring the challenge and is putting up 2 new Sugar Nellie stamps for our winner!! Check out the Stampin' for the Weekend Challenge Blog to see which stamps you could win.

To colour my image I used a mix of copics and twinkling H2O's. I'm really starting to like the twinks and love the shimmer they give. I don't have very many colours yet. To add some sparkle I have added Star Dust stickles to my flowers.

Challenges:
Anyone for Anya? -  That's Charming
Stamp with Fun - Snowflakes
Charisma Cards - Anything New (stamp, flowers, twinks)

Image: Twinkle Tots Madelynn by The Greeting Farm
Papers: Sassafrass lass Starry Night, PM Black Card
Primas, buttons, scrappers floss & charm from my stash.

Stamp Something has a great colour combo for you to work with this week - BLUE AND WHITE - and straight away I thought of my Magnolia papers :) So glad I'm getting to use them up. And of course what better image to use only this uuuuber sweet Tilda.

I've coloured her using distress inks and distressed my papers with Weathered Wood. As I really enjoyed Magnolia's paper pleating challenge I decided to do it on this card too!! Instead of sanding the pleats I inked them to make them stand out from the backing paper. I kept the colour combo going with white(ish) cherry blossoms, white pearl spray and some white tulle.

Don't forget to pop over to both challenge blogs to see some pretty fantastic inspiration from the other ladies, or go to their individual blogs using the links on my side bar -->

I am also entering this card into the Crafty Creations challenge - Textures,  and the Creative Inspirations challenge - New Year, New Products (pearl spray, flowers)

TFL and have a wonderful weekend!

Whiff of Joy meets PaperPlay Challenges

Good morning bloggers. Today I would like to share with you a card that I made for PaperPlay Challenges DT, and for Whiff of Joy's Challenge #62 - a sketch by Jane.

Our theme on PaperPlay this week is 'Furry Friends' and we would like to see you use anything that barks, squeaks, meows, roars, moos, bleats or neighs on your creation. For the safety of your beloved pet or the neighbours fuzzy sheep I would like to clarify that we're talking images here!! Sticking a bow on your kitty and stuffing her into a beautifully decorated acetate box might not be such a good idea.. YKWIM! ;)

I used Henry Mouse Hugging Heart on my card. He is coloured with Twinkling H2Os. It's such a shame that the camera can't pick up on how these shimmer, they're just beautiful! My DP is from the Ancerstry.com collection by K & Company and it has been distressed and edged using Vintage Photo distress inks.

Just look at these flowers, aren't they so pretty??!! The light mocha gardenia is even nicer IRL!!

The sentiment is from Studio G's Series 26 - Holidays, which has the cutest little Valentines stamps and sentiments.  You can see the set HERE.
Series 41 - Spring Holidays, which is the this year's set can also be found HERE

I finished off my card with some self adhesive pearls and gorgeous little heart pearls that I received from my Secret Santa (which is still a secret, LOL!!)

Don't forget to pop over to my fellow teamies blogs to leave a little love :)

Whiff of Joy Challenge - Red and Aqua & a sneak peek!!

Good morning! Well the snow is all gone and now we have gale force winds and rain. Is anyone else thinking this weather is a bit too freaky??!! lol. Still, it's an excuse to stay warm indoors and craft :D The kids are back in school, they may not be happy about it but I am!! Bwahahahahahaha

I made this card days ago but haven't had a chance to post it until now.

The challenges I am entering it into are:
Whiff of Joy - Aqua and Red
Simon Says Stamp - Hot Chocolate
Sketch Saturday - Sketch #85

This colour combo is not one I'd used before and was nervous about it, but as the card progressed I was quite pleased with with how it came together. I thought Willow with Hot Chocolate image was perfect for the Simon Says challenge. She is coloured using both copic markers and distress inks. I just love the sketch and while I was soooo tempted to put something (i.e. RIBBON!!)  across the middle I really don't think it needs anything so I resisted ;) My papers are a mix of Basic Grey and Making Memories and they have been distressed and edged with distress inks.

How gorgeous are these roses??!! I bought them last year at the Craft Extravaganza in Athlone but I can't remember which store I bought them from and my stock is VERY low. I have loads of other colours, it's just these ones that I use the most.  Oooh, speaking of flowers...  the gardenias and cherry blossoms I ordered arrived yesterday and they are DIVINE!! Can't wait to use some :D

Tools used: McGill pine leaf punch, MS Doily, Labels 4 Nesties & Cuttlebug

Who's up for a SNEAK PEEK??!!

Remember the mini book I was making a while back with the FABULOUS snowy papers?? Well because of the flooding the classes had to be postponed but have been rescheduled for the end of Jan. And we have NO excuse not to have gr-r-r-reat winter pics with the weather we've had for the past month!!

Soooo here is the finished book and no, I'm not giving much away!! LOL!!

I'm not sure if there are any places left but you can contact Kerry if you're interested in taking this class.

Have a fabulous Tuesday!!

Just Magnolia-Crafty Angels-BG Challenges

Good morning! Today I'd like to share with you a card I made with 3 challenges in mind.

I used this cute Tilda from the Winter kit and coloured her using distress inks. I distressed the background with Antique Linen and edged with Vintage Photo.

A close up of the pleating, which gives great texture to the card

As always, I've added sparkle to  my flowers using stickles.

Image: Magnolia Tilda
Papers: BG Wisteria, BG Porcelain
Tools: MS 2Dot punch, McGill Pine Leaf punch, scoring board
Heart Charm, stickles, pin wheels & distress inks are all available HERE.

TFL and have a great day. The temps have started to rise and we've even had a little rain. Of course, on Friday, the schools decided to close for 3 days this week as there was a lot of snow expected..  we didn't get it but they still didn't reopen the schools. Only in Ireland... lol.

Stamp Something DT - Cute Card Thursday - Wags n Whiskers

Good morning. TGIF!!

This week on Stamp Something we have a fabby sketch for you which was designed by Denise.
Our sponsor is Wags n' Whiskers and the team have all used some of these wonderful stamps on their projects.

The image I've used is called 'Steal a Kiss' and I've coloured it with copic markers, distress inks AND Twinkling H2O's, LOL.  Talk about indecision!! The papers are from Bo Bunny's Persuasion line and co-ordinating cardstock. The sentiment is a Studio G.

I stamped and cut out a heart image from Studio G's Valentine collection and coloured it with distress inks, then I added glossy accents to the centre and stickles to the outside. I added a key on a chain dangling from the heart. {key to my heart.. get it??!! Corny or what, lol!!}

I heat embossed the image but unfortunately the camera won't pick it up. It has a really cool effect :)

Don't forget to hop over to my fellow teamies blogs to see what they've created for this week's challenge.

As my card just happens to fit the theme, I am entering into the Wags 'n' Whiskers challenge, which is to make a Valentines card that is not red and also into Cute Card Thursday's challenge with their theme All New. They would like to see you create a project incorporating some new stash into it. My image, papers, chain and jump rings are new and while I've had the Studio G stamps since last year I've never used these ones before so I guess they are new too ;)

Distress inks, glossy accents, stickles & Studio G stamps are all available HERE

Have a wonderful Friday and Happy Crafting! :)

Magnolia Down Under #29

I finally got to do the challenge on the Magnolia Down Under Challenge Blog. Their theme is "Stamp with Another Use?!"... which means you take a  Magnolia stamp from one collection and use it for a different theme than other than the one it was intended for. I used Jam Tilda from the Yummy Collection and made a Valentines card.

I used BG's Two Scoops papers and pink Bazzil, and they have both been edged using Worn Lipstick distress ink. My images were coloured with copic markers. I added glossy accents, crackle accents and Star Dust stickles to the hearts, ribbon images and the trim on Tilda's clothes. I used my MS Two Dot punch to do the double border.

Not using any flowers on this card was really hard for me but I decided that I wanted to use the accessory stamps that came with the Magnolia Winter Kit as I rarely get to use any accessory stamps that come in the kits. The card just looked a touch 'unfinished' to me so I added some adhesive pearls to break up the bare areas, lol.

I made the card to a sketch which was created by Kellie Winnell for a friendly challenge between herself and a friend. I liked the sketch so I gave it a go :) You can can see Kellie's post and sketch HERE

And I am also entering into A Spoonfull of Sugar's challenge with their theme Hearts.

Crafty Angels/ABC Challenges

Good morning. I hope you all had a great weekend. It's bitterly cold here again with no sign of the cold weather ending. Still no snow though :(  However it's too cold to venture out much so I'm catching up on some DT projects and challenges... and some blog hopping :)

This week over on Crafty Angels the theme is Recycling. We'd like to see you use something recycled on your project. I have used the page of an old book as my DP. I scrunched it up and then inked it using Antique Linen distress ink.

The sweet Sarah Kay image is called A Kiss for Chloe and I coloured it with copic markers. I distressed and edged it using both Antique Linen and Vintage Photo inks.

Love the colour of these roses. As always I added some stickles to make them sparkle.

The "KISS" metal word stick is from the Tim Holtz range and the entwined hearts are from The Hobby House. Eyelets, thread and self-adhesive pearls are from my stash.

I am also entering this card into the ABC challenge as this week's theme is "K is for Kissing".

Well I am off to make a hot drink and stick myself to a radiator, lol. I love cold weather but this is FREEZING!!

Have a wonderful Monday :)
