Here's how to play:
You must use a TGF stamp (rubber, digi, or clear) as your main image.
Entries must be uploaded via InLinkz (below) no later than Thursday, MAY 2nd at NOON CST.

WOW! Embossing Powder - Altered Memory Box

Hi!! Today I have an inspiration project for this month's WOW! Embossing challenge, which is Altered or Recycled Art.

I altered a papier maché circle box to make a Memory Box - perfect for childhood keepsakes.

First I painted the box with white acrylic paint using a baby wipe to achieve a distressed look. While that dried I made some resin flowers using Melt-It, White Pearl Powder and Pomegranate Powder. To make the flowers I use foil cases, a peg to hold the foil case (it gets hot!!) and my heat gun.

Once the paint had dried I covered the box with patterned papers, sanding the edges. Then I layered up an inked bingo card with leaves which I'd heat embossed with Olive embossing powder. I stamped out the little girl from the Child's Play clear stamp set.

I then layered up the flowers before adding some green velvet ribbon and some white peals .

WOW Products used:
Stamps - Child's Play (Retired)

Don't forget to check out this month's challenge. Enter for your chance to win 12 embossing powders in a handy carry case. You can find all of the details HERE.

Thanks for dropping by!

La-La Land Crafts Inspiration Friday - Butterflies or Birds

Hi everyone!! If you are here for the SCACD new release blog hop then keep scrolling down, or click here.

It's Inspiration Friday over on La-La Land Crafts and this week our theme is Butterflies or Birds. I chose to use both, because picking one over the other would be like trying to decide between my children, lol.

For my project I altered the  Moon & Stars Shadow Box. I've featured the super cute Quill Pen Marci and the Grass BorderHeart Fence, Flag Banner & Large Flourish Dies

I covered the inside of the box with patterned papers and layered up the moon, stars, Heart Fence and Grass Border before adhering Marci with 3D foam dots. For the front panels I used distress ink reinkers with a dry baby wipe and once it had dried I took a Kaisercraft grid stamp and added it all around the blue layer.

Copic Markers
Skin: E000, E00, E11, R20
Hair: E21, E23, E25, E27
Reds: R32, R35, R37, R39

SCACD New Release Blog Hop

Good morning bloggers, so glad to have you here for the SCACD Fairy Dust Collection blog hop. You should have arrived from Dianne's blog, but if not and you would like to hop along, then head back to Kathi's blog where the fun begins.

Today SCACD is introducing the Fairy Dust Collection. These are 6 sweet and sassy Fairies that just make you smile and brighten the day. Elisabeth Bell sprinkled just the right amount of cute, charm and gorgeous on to these special little fairies. These are stamps for right now but also classics to use years from now!

I am featuring the adorable Little Acorns, Big Dreams.

I found a great tutorial by Beate over on Splitcoast Stampers. I love SCS for all it's tutorials and ideas :D It's a Box Card and is made from one sheet of heavy cardstock sized 8.5" x 11"

You just slip the belly band off and the box opens up.

Once the box was made I set it aside and coloured up my image with copic markers, and of course, some sparkle for her wings. I cut it out with classic circle nesties and sponged the background with Tumbled Glass distress ink whilst leaving the nestie in place - this leaves a white border all around. Then I cut a scalloped circle from pink cardstock, adhered the image to it and then mounted it onto 3D foam before sticking it down onto the belly band.

Note that for US readers, the stamps can be found here: http://www.susanascustomartandcarddesign.com/categories_eb_stamps.php
And that Dies by SCACD can be found here: http://www.susanascustomartandcarddesign.com/products.php?cat=283

For international readers:

Thanks so much for joining us today. Next on the hop is Suzanne and below is the full list of hoppers in case you get a little lost along the way....

Welcome to the Waltzingmouse Stamps April Release!! You should have arrived here from Belinda's blog, but if not and you want to join us then jump back to Claire's blog where you will find all the links.

There are THREE amazing sets being released today, and for the past three days the design team have been showcasing them. On Monday we started off with My Kind of Guy, Tuesday we showcased Nordic Baby and yesterday brought Man of the Hour. Today the team are showcasing all of the new stamps and I have a few projects to share...

First up is a sweet baby tag featuring Nordic Baby
Papers: Graphic 45

Next is a card and gift box set for a Dad featuring Man of the Hour. I found the tutorial for the card on YouTube and the turorial for the box on Splitcoast Stampers.
Papers: My Mind's Eye

Finally I have a layout which I made some time back but when I saw the sentiment in Man of the Hour I instantly thought of the layout and knew it would be a perfect addition to the layout :D
Papers: Basic Grey

Well that's it from me :) I hope you enjoyed your visit here. Next on the Waltz is Julia. And don't forget - there will be a prize winner from a random drawing from comments left on the blogs, so be sure to comment as you go.

Happy Waltzing!

Courage is being yourself...

Afternoon bloggers!!  I was searching through my posts on blogger when I came across this one, in draft mode, which was scheduled to go live last week and I have been so busy that I didn't realise it hadn't.. not cool Blogger, NOT cool!!!

Anyway, I have something a little different to share with you. I recently signed up to participate in a mixed media circle journal and so I tried my hand at making a mixed media canvas as one of my design team projects for Quixotic Paperie

The stamp I've featured is from Susana Loves Stamps' NEW mixed media release, Blank Canvas, and this one is called Flights of Botanica. She has been stamped out using Adirondack paint.

For the background I used 4 different colour sprays (Glimmer Mist & Dylusions). Then I layered on a white doily, which I painted over, and stamped out my sentiment. I added some Prima washi tape and a metal charm tied with button floss. I cut the butterfly out from some Prima paper and coated it with glossy accents. To finish I doodled on some stitching.

I love how it turned out and will definitely be dabbling a bit more :D

Thanks for popping in!

Waltzingmouse Stamps April Release Previews Day Two

It's Day Two of Waltzingmouse Stamps April Release previews. I hope you enjoyed yesterday's preview of My Kind of Guy? Today, the design team are showcasing another amazing set - Nordic Baby

I sat down to make a card and kind of lost the run of myself :P I made a card and gift box set for both a boy and a girl.

My papers are from Prima and the cardstock from Papermill Direct. I used Nestabilities labels to cut out the sentiment which I stamped out with Victorian Velvet Distress ink and Archival Black ink. I layered 2 kinds of lace over the paper and then I stuck the sentiment down with 3D foam dots on top.

The gift boxes are designed like pizza boxes and the tutorial can be found on Splitcoast Stampers. All you need is one sheet of 11" x 6" card and patterned papers/embellishments of your choice. They are so much fun to make.

On this one I added some ribbon, lace, a doily, ribbon, a flossed button and a punched butterfly.

On the Boy set I again used Prima papers and used the same design as for the girl card, except instead of 2 layers of lace I used lace and a punched border.

I just adore the baby shoes stamp :D

Waltzingmouse Stamps April Release Previews Day One

It's Waltzingmouse Stamps previews time and today the design team are showcasing an absolutely FABULOUS set of stamps. I {heart} these stamps so much, it's not even funny. Actually, it is kind of is funny because, for the past few days, at my house, we are all about 'I say old Bean...' in our best uppercrust voices. Wonder how long before we bore each other silly :P

Anywhoooo.. today's preview set is My Kind of Guy - and I had a lot of fun playing with it.

On my first card I used what have to be my absolute FAVOURITE sentiments (ask me again in 2 weeks after I've been driven crazy by the teen saying "I say old Bean....." :/ ). I started with a kraft card base and used foam tape between the base and the white card for a little dimension. The border has been stamped out with SU Mellow Moss and for everything else I used Archival Ink. I also layered on the bowler hat image with 3D foam. To embellish I added some pearls and a button.

For my second card I used some patterned papers from my 'I have no clue what brand these are' drawer. I liked the colours. I stamped out the frame and sentiment to coordinate. I used distress inks - Spiced Marmalade & Faded Jeans - and also Rich Cocoa Memento. To embellish I've added some pearls, die cut flourishes and buttons flossed with button twine.

My third card .. this is one I saw on Pinterest recently and thought it was a wonderful idea so I CASE'd it. It works so well with the sentiment - I'm thinking this would be perfect for a groom ;)

I am so happy with this card that you would think I came up with the idea, lol.

All of my cardstock, apart from the Kraft, is from Papermill Direct

Well that's it from me.. below you can find the list of ladies who are also showcasing My Kind of Guy today....
