Hi everyone! I have another Stamping Bella Thursday Tutorial for you and today I am sharing this Dandy Lion Gift Box. With Mother's Day coming up for my Stateside friends (We celebrate Mother's Day in March) I thought this would make a fabulous and unusual gift box to present a little gift, or chocolates.
The image I used is one of the BRAND NEW Dandy Lion stamps. I can't get enough of this guy.
Supplies:
Card
Patterned paper
Scoring board and bone folder
Circle, scalloped circle, and pennant dies
Twine or ribbon
Embellishments
To make the split box cut 2 pieces of card measuring 8" x 5" and repeat the following steps on both pieces.
Score on the 8" side at 3" and 5"
With the 2" section at the top, score from the outer corner of the 2" line diagonally to the inside corner of that 3" square, on both sides.
Shorten the centre section to about half the size.
Fold the outer triangles of the 3" squares inwards and crease with a bone folder. Trim a little if necessary. Once you're happy with the fit, apply adhesive and stick them down.
Apply adhesive to the inside of the tab you shortened.
For the decorative layers, cut:
White card -
2x 2.75" square, cut diagonally to make 4 triangles.
4x 2-7/8" x 1-7/8" pieces
Paper -
2x 2.5" square, cut diagonally to make 4 triangles.
4x 2.75" x 1.75" pieces
Adhere all the paper pieces to the white card pieces and adhere them to the top, bottom, and sides of the box.
Score at 1-7/8" on all four sides.
Cut some decorative borders for the box.
Stamp and colour Dandy Lion Loves You
Cut out using a stitched circle die.
Cut a scalloped die a little larger than the image and adhere them together.
Assemble the box and use twine to hold it together. Apply foam tape on one side of the box
Adhere the image to the foam tape.
Fill the box with chocolates, a gift card, or other small gift.
