Basic Grey Challenges - Mix 'n' Match & DT Whiff of Joy

Good morning and happy Saturday. I hope you all have a wonderful weekend. Hubby has abandoned me for The Footman James Classic Motor Show at the NEC in Birmingham so I think it will be a movie day for myself and the little ones :) :) :)

Today we have a new challenge over on Basic Grey Challenges and it's themed

MIX 'N' MATCH

We want you to mix up your Basic Grey collections on your creation. I find this a great way to use up those few leftover sheets you tend to have in each pack  and I have mixed Wassail with Jovial on my card.

My sweet image is one of the new release stamps for November from Whiff of Joy as is called Penguin's First Snow. I have coloured him with Copic markers and added Star Dust Stickles to his hat, and to the snow, for added sparkle. My card fits the theme over on Whiff of Joy Challenges, which is Let it Snow,  so I'm entering into their challenge.

My sentiment is from Waltzingmouse Stamps, flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts and both the twill ribbon and doily are from my stash.

Challenges -
Christmas Stampin' All Year Long - Use a stamp that has never seen ink.
Inspire Me Fridays - always anything goes
Wags 'n Whiskers - Christmas
C.R.A.F.T. - Cute
Charisma Cardz - Cutesy Project
Crimbo Crackers - Make It Sparkle
Delightful Challenges  - Snowflakes
Simon Says Stamp - Photo Inspiration

Well it's Wednesday and that means another challenge from Inky Impressions. This week our theme is Winter Wonderland.. which is very appropriate considering all the snow some regions are still having. Our snow is gone and we now have our typical mild, wet weather... ugh!! Bring back the snow I say :D

For my card I've used Sofia, cute as ever, building her little snowman!!

Papers are Basic Grey Jovial, I'm down to the last of these now :( and they are matted with rich red cardstock.

Copics used:
E37, E35, E33, E31, E30
BG18, BG15, BG13
R29, R27, R24
BG0000

Papertake Weekly - Cold and Frosty Morning
ABC DT Challenge - Baby it's Cold Outside

Whiff of Joy Blog Hop & Stampin' for the Weekend

Good morning!! Welcome to Whiff of Joy's Blog Hop. The whole team have come together to showcase some wonderful Christmas creations. If you have arrived here from Karen's blog then you are on the right track, if not then you may want to jump back to Katharina's blog which is where the hop begins.

The hop will end on December 24th and one lucky commenter will win €30 to spend @ Whiff of Joy.  What a great Christmas gift!!

*Don't forget that you can get 20% off your entire order in the Whiff of Joy store when you use the coupon code below. This coupon is valid until December 24th.*

I have to confess that I combined my blog hop card with my Stampin' for the Weekend DT card.. naughty me, but it is the season of long queues and marathon shopping, so crafty time is at a premium, lol.

Don't you just LOVE Henry Mouse and his cheeky little smile??!! I've coloured him using copic markers and then added some glossy accents to the trim on his Santa hat, the berries and bow on the wreath.

My papers are BG Jovial, love love love them!! I broke out the sewing machine and stitched the card... had to blow the dust off of the machine first, haha!! Then I added some white & red poinsettias along with some punched out pine leaves, white roses and red pearl top pins.

I've used 2 red ribbons, one organza and one sateen. I made the bow from the sateen and {with a lot of effort} pushed a pearl/gold brad through. This was no easy task, but I think it turned out pretty nice.

To complete my card I added a Christmas tree charm on some silver fine link chain

I hope you enjoyed your visit to my blog today, your next stop on the hop is Nana's blog and I'm sure she has created something wondeful for you to feast your eyes on.

Please also don't forget to leave my Stampin' for the Weekend teamies a little love on their blogs, they work so hard to bring you some inspirational creations.

Challenges I am entering this card into:
Stamp With Fun – Xmas
A Spoon Full of Sugar – Christmas Card

Have a wonderful, wonderful weekend!!

PaperPlay Challenges - Lace, Ribbon & Flowers

Hi!! It's an AWFUL day out there today. I am spending the afternoon crafting, not putting one foot outside the door for fear of being blown away!! Hubster has been delegated the school runs :D

I made this card & paper cone set for PaperPlay Challenges - Lace, Ribbon & Flowers, Whiff of Joy Challenges  -  Christmas card, Cute Card Thursday - Anything Goes and Basic Grey Challenges which is a sketch by the very lovely Heather.

I just adore this sweet WOJ image and love how versatile it is - I knew it would be perfect for a Mother/Daughter Christmas card. I coloured it using Copic sketch markers, cut it out with Labels 14 Nesties and sponged the background with distress ink.

My papers are BG Jovial - I am LOVING them!! I've distessed them with Antique Linen ink. The border work is done using Martha Stewart's deep edge trellis punch. I'm not 100% certain but I *think* the lace is from Prima. I bought the charm and flower centres from The Hobby House at the NEC :D

Then I made a paper cone to using the BG Jovial, ribbon & lace and filled it with candies. It has already been claimed by a certain 4yr old diva...

... and I just know that a certain 6yr old little man is going to hissy fit until I make him one also, LOL!!

Thanks for popping in!! Don't forget to leave my PaperPlay teamies a little love and be sure to read the post this week - we are having a DT call!

Anyone for Anya - and the one that *almost* got away ;)

Good morning!! I have 2 DT cards to share today. This week on Anyone for Anya we would like you to use Kraft card on your project.

For my card I used a Kraft journalling ticket, tucked in behind my patterned papers. I used another image from the Sisters set I bought recently - these are just too cute for words.

My papers are BG Jovial and I've used the MS Garden Trellis punch on the top and bottom of my top layer.  To embellish I used some Prima e.line crystal swirls, sheer & grosgrain ribbon, pearl spray & self adhesive pearls. The sentiment is by Lili of the Valley.

Our sponsor this week is Hobbystempels

And the prize is a set of sentiment stamps from The Greeting Farm!

Stampin' for the Weekend

I was so tired after my trip to the NEC that I totally forgot to do my blog post last Friday... ooops!! Better late than never?? lol.

For this fortnight's challenge on Stampin' for the Weekend we have a sketch with a twist, and the twist is that you need to use a butterfly somewhere on your card/layout/altered item.

We are being sponsored by our regular monthly sponsor

Photobucket

and the prize is a $25 voucher to spend in their store.

Again, I used BG Jovial. My sentiment is from Waltzing Mouse Stamps and I stamped it using Fired Brick distress inks. This set is compatible with the heart nestabilities.  I distressed all the edges of my papers with my scissors and lightly inked them. My butterfly is punched out from the MS Glassene punch and the lace is from Craft Brulee.

Thanks for popping in this morning. Please do pay my teamies a visit, they work so hard to create inspirational projects for you all.

I will be back a little later today for the Waltzing Mouse release day festivities - don't forget 7PM GMT the new sets will be revealed :)

Until then - have a great Sunday!!
