PaperPlay meets Whiff of Joy Challenges

Good morning. We have a very sweet challenge on PaperPlay this week -  Cutie Patootie :D So we would love to see you break out your cutest of images and ink them up!!

I just couldn't resist using this uuuuber cute stamp from Whiff of Joy, called Henry with Love Balloon - which also happens to be the prize for this week's challenge. I think you'll agree he's definitely a cutie. I followed Jane's fabby sketch on Whiff of Joy Challenges.

He's been coloured using copic markers - E35, E33, E31, E30, R29, R27, R24, R20 and a tiny amount of stickles is added to the balloon. I used classic circles nesties to cut him out and the scalloped circle nesties on for the red card behind him.

The papers are from a pile in my drawer and for the life of me I can't remember what they are called. I've machine stitched them all.

My flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts and the pearl topped pins from the local drapery store. The pearl brad securing the bow to the ribbon is also from Whiff of Joy.

Inky Impressions Challenge - Ribbon & Flowers... and one to share

Hi!! We're really back in the swing of things today, it's amazing what some decent sleep can do for a person, lol.

I have 2 cards to share with you today. The first one my DT card I made for Inky Impressions Challenges with the theme Ribbons & Pearls and the other I made for some challenges.

I used the sketch from Wild Orchid Challenges

Again I've used Winter Fashion Marlee, can't get enough of this cutie!! She's been coloured using Copic markers, trimmed out and mounted with 3D pop dots. I've also added some stickles to her hat for a little bit of sparkle.

My papers are BG Curio - I am so glad I got 2 packs of this paper, one to use and one to hoard, lol. I used the Martha Stewart Doily punch for the border work. The heart shaped doily has been inked with Brushed Cordoroy distress ink and then I added some star dust stickles. The heart pin, flowers, lace, ribbon & pearls are from my stash.

Other challenges:
ABC DT Challenge - Baby It's Cold Outside
Craft Your Passion - Anything Goes
Be sure to check out my teamies' Ribbon & Pearls creations over on the Inky Impressions Blog.

Next up is a card I made for the Just Magnolia Challenge, which is Anything Goes. Did you notice that you can now use hAnglar & stAnglar images for their challenges? This is great news as I've got so many that I've never had the chance to ink up :D

Again with BG Curio.. yes, yes I'm a tad obsessed with these papers right now.. I machine stitched all the papers and used a shed load of stickles and pearls :D

This sweet Tilda image was sent to me by my good friend Jan. Isn't she just so pretty?! Coloured with copic markers as always {my poor inks are sorely neglected lately!!}

My flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts and the sentiment is a Tim Holtz adage ticket.

Other challenges:

Inky Impressions Challenge - Christmas!!!

Hi!! Today marks my first challenge as a Guest Inkette on Inky Impressions. I am delighted to be on this fabulous team and hope I can provide a little inspiration for my term.

For the first challenge - Christmas - all of the DT are using the digi "Rachel's Gingerbread Christmas".

I used last year's BG Eskimo Kisses papers  with both red and green cardstock. I coloured my image using copic markers - too many to list, lol. All of my flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts.

I used MS cornice punch to do the border on along the side of my image. The doily, which is slipped behind the image has been inked with distress ink and stickled with star dust -  I love how the stickles takes in the colour of the distress ink.

The ribbon is by East of India, the reindeer charm is one I picked up at the NEC and as always, I've added some pearls :)

This challenge will run for 2 weeks, so you have until noon (eastern time) on December 14th to play along HERE.

I am entering this card into the ABC Christmas Challenge - Yuletide.

Have a wonderful day!

Morning!! It's another beautiful crisp day out.. so 'crisp' that the dogs eyebrows froze over while out with hubby for a walk this morning, lol. We're at -4.5C at the moment so I'm sensing another crafty day.. or it could be another "stop the kids from killing one another out of boredom" day!!

There are some changes afoot over on the Anyone for Anya? challenge blog, all will be revealed later .. but for now the new challenge is up and we have a great sketch for you to follow.

My papers are Cosmo Cricket "Mitten Weather" - aren't they just gorgeous??!! I'm really enjoying all the christmas papers this year. I coloured Anya with copic sketch markers and used my trustee star dust stickles for the fur on her clothes. All of my flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts and they have been inked with Antique Linen - they've also been stickled to death, just how I like them :D

Lili of the Valley Challenge - Glitter and Glitz

Hi! I have a really quick post today - I made another card for this week's Lili of the Valley's  "Glitter and Glitz" challenge which ends in a couple of hours ..

Very recently I was asked by the lovely Jayne, from Crafty Feeling if I would like to have a play around with one of her kits. Of course one can never have too many embellishments or flowers so I was delighted!! When the kit arrived I was pleasantly surprised by just how much was in it. Loads of flowers with co-ordinating buttons, brads, ribbons, ribbon sliders & dew drops. This kit is called Vintage Delights and is available HERE

I used Balloon Bunny and coloured him/her? with copic markers {which I will list below}. I then cut it out and mounted it on 3D pop dots. I applied glossy accents to the ballon to give it loads of dimension.

Copics Used:
Fur: C1, 3, 5
Plate: G000, 00
Cupcake: R81, 83
Cupcake paper: E50, 53
Balloon: R32, 35, 37
Papers by Kaisercraft {Gypsy Sisters}
Sentiment and image by Lili of the Valley
Embellishments from Crafty Feeling

Thanks for popping in.

Lili of the Valley Challenge

Hi everyone!! I'm feeling sooooooooooo much better today - thanks to everyone for the well wishes. Of course the down side to feeling better is that I have 4 days of housework to catch up on... ach!!

Anyhoooo, I have really enjoyed my crafty days and have a little something to share today that I made for the Lily of the Valley Challenge which is "Winter Fun". I bought some LOTV stamps a while back but, of course, I have only got around to inking up a couple thus far, so I thought it was time to rectify that situation, especially as the new stamps will be released very soon, lol.

I am also entering into Papertake Weekly's Challenge - Sparkly & Bright, ABC Challenges - G is for Glitter & Simon Says Challenges - Punch 'em {use punches or dies}

Now, anyone who knows me knows I LOVE to make off the page projects, so I set to work on a Fleur De Lis Ornament - turorial by Becca Feeken - I think it looks very much like a big snowflake :D  I do love cards but I am the most patient person when it comes to templates.  However, THIS project tested me.. oooooooooh yeah!! My advice to anyone who wants to make this is to work with the centre (blue) in 2 pieces. Trying to stick the pieces together and THEN add it was a nightmare!! It's too fiddly, well it was for me anyway, as I only have 12mm tape which was way too wide.

The Ornament in all it's glory, lol.

To make this you need both the Fleur De Lis and circle nesties. You also need an empty ribbon spool approx 3" in diameter. I made 2 medalions, one for each side of the spool, but I kept the back side plain, with just a brad added to the middle.

And this is how it looks from the side. I've added a strip of paper around the spool where the ribbon was.

Image: - Lili of the Valley : Christmas Angel Standing coloured using Copic markers:

Hair - E50, 51, 53
Skin - E21, 51, 00, 000 & E02(cheeks)
Gown - B00, B000
Holly wreath - G82, 85, R24, Y26

Tools: Cuttlebug, Fleur De Lis & Circle Nestabilities

Thanks so much for popping in today. Now I am off to chuck kiddos into the bath while I put away a TON of laundry.

Have a fun day!

Pocket Full of Posies - Autumn Leaves

Happy Monday!! The kids are back in school after the weekend and the house is silent once more.. bliss!! Love those kids dearly but boy is it nice to have some quiet time :)

I will be back a little later with some news and a very special post.. *happy dance!!* but for now I would like to share my Pocket Full of Posies DT card. Our theme this challenge is Autumn Leaves - interpreted how you please - use fall colours, use leaves, use both!! It's up to you.

We are being sponsored by Craft Brulee and the prize for one lucky entrant is a $10 store voucher.

I used another Maggie for this card, They've been sorely neglected lately and I am really enjoying inking them up again.

My papers are beautiful Websters Pages. I find these so hard to use because I don't want to cover them up with anything, lol. I'm not sure which collection my Maggie is from - she's been coloured with copics, cut out and mounted on 3D pop dots. The lace between the layers is from Craft Brulee, I love how wide it is!!

The fibres on I've used are from The Crafty Alley's August kit and the leaf is from the July kit - I've not got a whole lot left of these kits, lol. I am entering into their competition which is Autumn themed -  you must use Orange, Brown and Red.

The flowers are WO Crafts and they've been inked with just a touch ofBrushed Cordoroy distress ink.

I'm also entering into Simon Say Stamp - Autumn and Just Magnolia - Anything Goes.

Copics:
Skin: E21, 51, 00, 000 & E02(cheeks)

CES Challenges - Get ahead, Get a Hat & WCMD Candy

Happy World Card Making Day!! I have plans to get loads of crafty time in today {but can't say that out loud in case the kids hear!!}. Hubby is on childminding duty so we'll see how that works out, lol.  What are your plans for today?? Leave a note telling me what you have in mind for today and I send a little something to a random commenter.

This week's CES challenge is all about hats... you can use any image you like as long as there's a hat somewhere on your card. I used another oldie Maggie that I bought and have rarely inked her up. I've used copic sketch markers to colour her {listed at the bottom of the post}

I cut her out using the Dahlia nesties and sponged the background using Brushed Cordoroy. I've recently been asked how I get the white edge on my image, this is done very simply by leaving the nestie die on while sponging.

My papers are Memory Box Fernbrae and matched the autumnal feel to the card perfectly, so much so that I didn't use any layering except for the ribbon & lace. To embellish I added 2 hat pins, and I made a couple of photo corners to take the bare look off the top half of the card.

Copics:
Skin: E21. 51, 00, 000 & E02(cheeks)
Dress & Hat: YG93, 95, 97
Boots & Basket: E42, 43, 44
Leaves: YR18, E53

I'm also going to enter this card into Simon Says Stamp Challenge which is Autumn photo inspiration and another for Just Magnolia which is Anything Goes

Thanks for popping in today, don't forget to leave a note telling me what you'll be doing for World Card Making Day.

This week our challenge on PaperPlay Challenges is COFFEE AND CREAM. Use only shades of brown on your creation. I love this colour choice, it's the one I usually do when a monochromatic project is needed. I really, really enjoyed making this card.

My image is called Connected Boy and is available HERE

I've coloured him using copic markers and shaded the background with Brushed Cordoroy distress ink.

Music Saves My Soul Saturday & Anyone for Anya? Challenge

Good morning. Something a little different to start off with today. Marcea from Marcea's Crafting Corner has resumed her Saturday music posting with a great name - Music Saves My Soul.

I love 80's music.. I was a teen child in the 80's and always loved music of any genre, depending on my mood at the time. I guess some things never change.... who wants to guess my mood today?? ;)

To play along please post the picture of 'Music Saves My Soul' to your sidebar and link it to Marcea's blog to help spread the word. Then share your music video on your blog and link it up and Marcea will send a little candy to her favourite song each week. Fun or what??!!

Now then, on to my Anyone for Anya? DT card and this week we want to see MONOCHROMATIC creations - which means different tones/shades of the one colour.

The first thing that popped into my head when I read the challenge was Basic Grey Capella. Perfect!! I matted it with tan coloured cardstock. The border work was done with MS's Doily Lace Punch.

I coloured my image with copics sketch markers -
Skin: E21, 51, 00, 000, 02(blush)
Shoes, Coat & Hat: E44, 43, 42, E35(buttons)
Scarf & Flower: E50, 51, 53
Hair: E35, 33, 31

and I distressed the background with Brushed Cordoroy ink.

The yummy lace is one of ebay bargains - and that reminds me, I need to restock :D To embellish I added Wild Orchid flowers, 3mm self adhesive pearls and a Tim Holtz adage ticket.

This week we are sponsored by Crafty Sentiments

and the prize is a fabby Christmas digi image. Be sure to hop over to the BLOG to check out both the prize and my teamies' wonderful work.

Have a grrrreat Sunday!

Good afternoon. I hope you're all having a wonderful day and the weather is better than here, lol. As one of my Facebook friends has just said "Tá an gheimhridh anuas orainn... :( "

I used a beautiful WOJ image called Dreamy Willow with Flowers. It's been a while since I got to use a Whiff of Joy image and thought I was using Shy Willow, lol, but they are both fabulous to colour.

Some yummy peanut butter cups hidden inside....

I'm also entering this into a few challenges:

Whiff of Joy - Layers
Wild Orchid Challenges - Pearls & Pins
Sir Stampalot - All Distressed
