Papertake Weekly/ Stampavie & More

I made this card for 2 challenges. Papertake Weekly asked for a downloaded image, and the image I used is a digi I downloaded from Pink Petticoat.

Stampavie & More had this delightful sketch to follow:

I coloured the image using distress inks and LePlumes, then I used stickles for the wool. It took ages to dry!! The scalloped circle is one I made using a circle cutter and an a corner rounder. That too took ages.... lol. Then I ran it through the cuttlebug using the Swiss Dots folder. The flowers are my favourites, Hydrangea (Strawberry) from Prima. The sentiment is a Studio G.

Stampin' for the Weekend:

"We are having a PROJECT week this week. We'd like to see you make either a Wallet card or a Pocket card"

Loved this challenge!! Here is my entry.

I used stickles on the blue part of the butterfly's wings but as usual you can't see it in the pic. I really need stickle finder instead of face finder on the camera!! LOL.

Card Ingredients:
Papers: Papermania Blueberry Hill
Image: Miss Anya Collection
Distress Inks & Stickles
Sentiment, stamped butterfly & flowers: Studio G stamps.
Charm: Necklace from Penny's (haha)
Lace trim and ribbon from my stash.

Prima blossoms & BG brads
Distress inks

Well I'm all crafted out for today. I'm gonna get a chick flick and chill out when the kids go to bed. Thanks for visiting :)

PaperPlay Challenge - Sweet Treats!!

OK, so this is my card for PaperPlay Challenges this week. I'm NOT happy with it (lol). It just needs something to make it pop, I think it's very flat and lifeless looking. However, I didn't have time to remake it so it is what it is.

I used Studio G cupcake stamps and paper-pieced the bottoms of the cupcakes, then I used green stickles to do the frosting/icing on them. I coloured in the candles and flames using distress inks. The sentiment is a download from The Cutting Cafe and the papers are BG Lime Rickey.

There is another geat prize this week on Paperplay so make sure to play along!

All of the linked supplies above are available on Pez-A-Doodle Designs... . AND.. if you like glittered Skittles check out Marti's blog to see all the new colours she has in stock right now. They are FAN-TAS-TIC!!! Leave a comment on her post to be in with a chance of winning samples of all the new ones!! Hmm.... maybe a few skittles would do something for my lifeless card, lol!!

PCP Sketch 233 & Whiff of Joy Challenge 36

Paper Craft Planet

I made this card using Sketch #233 on PCP. A great sketch!! I used a lovely Anya image sent to me by Gina and a mix of Pink Paislee papers. I coloured the image and distressed the background using TH distress inks. I used Pez-A-Blings on the corners of my image in red & black to match the papers. I really like how they look.

Whiff of Joy Challenge 36 - Sketch

This week on Whiff of Joy Challenges there was a great sketch by Heather. I used Musing Melinda for this one. Again, I coloured my image and distressed the background with TH distress inks. The sentiment is from the WOJ summer collection. The papers are BG Urban Prairie and the blossoms are Prima. The adhesive pearls were an ebay purchase.. I wish I could remember who I bought them from as I am almost out of all colours. They really lasted a long time, there were so many in each pack.

*all linked supplies are available on Pez-A-Doodle Designs. Right now Marti has two new Studio G stamp sets available for pre-order, Bohemian & Halloween. Check them out here.

Just Magnolia/ ICSketches

I made this card fowllowing ICSketches great sketch this week~!! - Loved the idea of the window and I really enjoyed making it. I also love using buttons on boys cards so the minute I saw the sketch I knew what all those circles would be ;)

I also made this card for the Just Magnolia Challenge which was themed SUMMER. I cut out the window using a little x-cut circle cutter and stamped the butterfly on the inside of the card, then coloured both the butterfly and the Edwin image using distress inks. I cut Edwin out and used foam dots to give him a 3-D effect. The sentiment is a Pink Gem stamp.

Card ingredients:
Papers: BG Marrakech
Image: Magnolia - Chasing Edwin
TH Distress inks
Buttons & scrappers floss from my stash.

PaperPlay Challenges - Christmas in June

This week's challenge on PaperPlay was 'Christmas in June', set by Kate. We also have a wonderful prize up for grabs .... a full pack of BG Wisteria - sponsored by Cardz n Scrapz!! To be in with a chance of winning just play along with us and leave a link to your creation.

So..... after I'd recovered enough from reading the 'C' word, and actually having to contemplate the very idea of doing anything relating to Christmas when we're only 6mths into the year, I broke out the traditional red and green in the form of the few sheets of Basic Grey Dasher that I have been hoarding.

The sweet image is a Pink Gem design. There are some really wonderful cutsie stamps on that site but I've barred myself from going back there (for the next week or so anyway, lol!!) as I can't resist.

Card Ingredients:
Basic Grey Dasher papers
Image: Pink Gems - Mimi & Snowman
TH Distress Inks
Chipboad swirl painted with Ranger Crackle Paints
Brad, ribbon & button from my stash.

All linked items above are available over at Pez-A-Doodle Designs. Check out Marti's Blog to see how you could win her new release stamps.

Birthday Wishes, a freebie and a chance to win!!

Boy, what a day!! You'd think having 2 teenage boys home for the summer would mean I had 4 extra hands to help, but they are waaaaaaaay more work than when they are in school. I FINALLY got to finish off my card this afternoon *phew*

I adore this stamp (although I'm terrified of bees, lol) and this is the first time I got to use it. I coloured Tilda using my favourite medium - TH distress inks! I used BG Porcelain papers which I love. The flowers are Prima and I've used adhesive pearls in the centre of them. How cute is that bee skittle ??!! They are new and available on Pez-A-Doodle Designs. I used Stickles to glitter the bees wings, the primas and the edges of the sentiment.

Anyone want a freebie??? Check out Marti's blog where you will find the link to get your very own nesties border FOR FREE!!!

AND there's more......

Marti would love to hear what you think of the stamp and see what you create so how about a chance to win the whole set of new releases FOR FREE!!!!!

All you need to do is make a card (or anything you want) with this freebie, post it to your blog or any online gallery where you usually share your work and then leave a comment on her blog, with the link, so she can go check it out! The new releases will include 2 more nestie frames, 2 new princesses and 2 new picnicin’ buggie friends!

You have until wednesday 6/24/09 at 6am, Eastern time, to enter.

I used a mix of papers from different ranges and the cute stamp is from the Daisy & Dandelion collection. I used Brown Color Box mini to stamp the image and the sentiment is a Studio G. The brown ribbon is one of many random pieces I find in my stash, lol.

Stampin' for the Weekend GDT Card

I was delighted to be asked by Donna & Kimmi join in on the Stampin for the Weekend Challenges as a guest designer for the next 2 weeks.

The challenge this week is to use a digi stamp on your card. it can be any digi stamp from any where, so there is a lot of freedom with this one!

I used a downloaded image & sentiment which I recently won from The Cutting Cafe called "All about Cupcakes". To colour the image and distress the background I used TH distress inks and then glittered the frosting on the cupcake using Star Dust Stickles. I used BG Urban Prairie papers and stitched them in a contrasting colour to make it really stand out. Then I added some prima blossoms with glittered skittles in the centre & buttons threaded with Karen Foster's scrappers floss.

All linked items above are available from Pez-A-Doodle Designs

Great sketch!!! This is my take on it...

I used the Tilda as Dragonfly image and coloured her with distress inks and I distressed the background using Broken China. I machine stitched the papers (not sure I'll attempt a circle again though, lol!). I used Copper glimmer mist on the brown prima and stickled Tilda's wings.

Card Ingredients:
Papers: Imaginesce Twitterpatter - Critter Chatter
Magnolia - Tilda as Dragonfly
TH Distress inks
Prima Blossoms
SeeD's sentiment
Buttons/ribbon/floss from stash.

Time Flies when you're having fun :)

I took out my stash of TH/Ranger products today and had myself an inkin' up party! LOL. I am entering this card into the Simon Says Stamp Challenge which is themed Let's Craft with Tim.

I was going for a 'Time Flies' theme (hence the clockworks mask and little bird.. ) but I'm not sure it's obvious enough.

For the background paper: I used Ranger Glossy Paper, specifically for alcohol inks, and inked it with Currant, Slate and Meadow and blended them using a little bit of blending solution. Then I added in Gold metal mixative. Finally I stamped flourishes using Inkadinkadoo stamps.

For the tag: I distressed the tag using Pine Needles, placed the TH Clockworks mask on top and then blended in Weathered Wood. I spritzed it using a mini mister and let it dry off before I added a TH Gamespinner.

I used a Grungeboard plate and inked it using Mellow Adirondack Paint Dabber, stamped the 'June' (using Studio G stamps) onto it after it had dried and then liberally applied Ranger Accents to both the grungeboard and the stamped bird, although you can't tell it's on the bird in the pictures. This did take a while to dry :S I secured the plate to the tag using bronze eyelets from my stash.

It's not often I get to use so many yummy products on one project and I really enjoyed this one :)
