A Pocket Full of Posies - Our first challenge

Good morning!! It's the start of another week AND the start of a fantabulous new challenge blog!!

Introducing... A Pocket Full of Posies

I've been so excited about this blog and really wanted to shout it from the rooftops. The idea for was born from a conversation I was having with my co-conspirator Katie who is as nutty about flowers as I am.. and we decided that we NEEDED to have a blog dedicated to all things floral!!

And who better to sponsor the launch of a blog for the florally obsessed than

Home to the most fantastic selection of flowers, pins, lace.. and much much more!!!

The prize on offer for this fortnight's challenge is this amazing selection of flowers

Delightful or what??!!! Makes me wish I could enter, lol.

As Wild Orchid Crafts were so generous with their prize I decided to go all out with their products.. never in my life have I used so many flowers on one project, lol.

I used MME Bella Bella on both the card and the MR tin.

The tin is my copic caio storage, lol... and now it's all prettied up!! As well as the Wild Orchid flowers I've added some lace, Prima bling and a Tim Holtz adage ticket.

For the card I used the sketch over on the Waltzing Mouse Challenge Blog. My image is a Lili Of the Valley stamp called Rosie Posy and she's been coloured using Copic markers. My Wild Orchid flowers have been inked and stickled to within an inch.... lol.

The gorgeous salmon coloured lace is an ebay find bargain, love it.. will be back for more :)

Thank you so much for visiting me today. I do hope you find some inspiration from my creations and join us in our first challenge.

My image is a hAnglar & stAnglar from Kit 4 and she's been coloured using distress inks. The flowers have been inked with brushed cordoroy and stickled with Star Dust. The fabric flower is from Prima. The sentiment is a Tim Holtz adage ticket.

I am also entering this card into the Lovely hAnglar Only's challenge "Shabby Look"

Just Magnolia meets Sketch Saturday

Good afternoon!! My card today is made with 2 challenges in mind - Just Magnolia with In the Garden and Sketch Saturday.

I went for bright summer colours of BG's Lime Rickey and backed it with deep orange card. My sweet Magnolia Tilda is from the Yummy for your Tummy collection but she looks so pretty sitting on the fence :) She's been coloured using copic markers and I've added some stickles to her clothing.

My flowers are from Wild Orchid and they also have been stickled, lol. The butterfly is made from a Martha Stewart punch.

I will be back later with my PaperPlay DT card, I read the challenge wrong so I have to start again, lol.

Have a great day!

ABC Challenges - X for Xtra

Happy Wednesday!!

Our ABC challenge for this fortnight is X for Xtra. That means extra embellishments, dimension, tags, a hidden messgage.. the choice is yours!

For my extra I gave my card dimension with lots of flowers!! I used a sweet CC. Designs Pixie image and coloured her using copic markers. As always, the wings have been stickled for extra sparkle. My flowers are from Wild Orchid and are also stickled.

My papers are BG Marrakech and the sentiment comes from In Circles Sentiments - they are so handy to have!! I inked around the sentiment with Brushed Cordoroy distress ink.

To finish off I added just a little bit of Prima bling.

Challenges:

Crafty Angels Birthday Bash

Hi everyone!! Before I get to my class projects from the Crafty Angels birthday bash I would like to share some Creative Card Crew news. Paula, our fabby 'leader' has decided to step down for personal reasons and has asked the lovely Janna to take over the blog. I hope you will all hop over to wish her luck in this new venture!!

Now, on to my classes. The first one was 'Colouring with Distress Inks' and this is the card I made for it. Magnolia images are just perfect for teaching the art of using inks as a colouring medium because of their size and features. And the Fairytale range are just so pretty that it HAD to one of them, lol.

This mini book was my other class. Fabulous Bo Bunny Sophie papers complimented by deep pink and brown cardstock. The book is 6x6 not including the tabs.

Thanks for popping in, I'll be back later with my card for the Bella Tucker Blog hop and I'll have some delicious candy up for grabs too!!!

DT Stamp Something and DT Stampin' for the Weekend

*edited to add a late PaperPlay at the bottom, 'tis a tight ship I run, LOL!!*

Good morning and happy Friday!! I have 2 cards to share with you today, both DT submissions but first I must share a little happy news... We were so impressed by our guest, Heidi, that we simply couldn't let her go and happily she accepted our offer to be a full time DT member on SFTW! Yay!! If you haven't been to Heidi's blog already please do go check it out. She's only 12yrs old and makes the most wondeful cards.

Now.. on to business, lol. On Stampin' for the Weekend we have a sketch & colour combo challenge for you.

We are being sponsored by Crafts and Me

and they have kindly given a Sweet Pea stamp as the prize for this challenge.
So here's the sketch and you must use the colours Yellow and Blue

I fould this cute image on Phindy's Place where there are some gorgeous digital images. I coloured using copic markers.

The papers are from a DCWV matt stack that I've had for about 2yrs!! I think they are called Pocket full of Posies. I made my little butterfly and the corner piece with MS punches and the sentiment is Studio G.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Over on Stamp Something Challenges we would like to see your Summery Somethings!!
We are being sponsored by La La Land Crafts and the team are each showcasing these cuties today. My image is called Bubble LaLa and my summery something is my papers, which actually reminded me of wallpaper - perfect for the bathroom, lol!!
Again, I used copic markers to colour my image and lots of stickles for the bubles and water. The adage tickets is by Tim Hotlz and it's been inked with Brushed Cordoroy inks.
I used the sketch on Sunday Sketch and Stamp when making this card so am entering into their challenge :)
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

PaperPlay are challenging you to get out your old stash and get using it!! Those old papers you bought but never got around to using, the embellies you shy away from, the embossing powder that scares you silly.. lol.. we want you to rescue it from a life of dust and darkness :)

My papers are really old - they are Making Memories "Poolside and Greenhouse" and I bought them at a craft event a long time ago. I can't remember how long ago :S

My image is a SUPER cute digi by Meljens Designs.. isn't he just gorgeous?! Coloured again with copics.. oh how my inks are being neglected.. shameful!!

I used oval nesties to cut him out and mounted it on Labels 10 nesties, love it! The sentiment is from SeeD's and the pin was in my stash.. not sure what brand.

The theme of this month's challenge on Simon Says Stamp papercraft planet group is OH BOY so I am entering my sweet baby boy card.

Well that's it from me for today. I have classes tomorrow that I'm frantically trying to get ready for. Have a great weekend and happy crafting!

Crafty Angels - In Vogue

Hi!! We have a great challenge for you over on Crafty Angels this week! Shirley would like to see you use your 'in vogue' papers on your creations.

I am also entering into the Just Magnolia with this card as I used their fabby sketch :)

I think the fantabulous Magnolia papers are very in vogue and that's what I used!! I just love the feel of these papers.. so lush  :)
Sweet beautiful Tilda is from Magnolia's Fairytale collection and I've coloured her using copic markers. I gently rubbed the colourless blender over her dress to give it a faded, mabye more textured look.. not sure about it :S

I added a touch of stickles to her flower and head dress.

The sentiment is a die cut - In Circles Birthday Sentiments. I've inked the edges with brushed cordorory and added a little pearl.. I love my pearls, lol!!

To complete the card I added a cherry blossom, some inked and stickled roses, a swirl and more pearls. The heart doily is an ebay bargain that I was lucky enough to pick up ;)

To be in with a chance of winning our monthly prize all you have to do is play along this week but please make sure to link to your creation and not your blog, and link back to the Crafty Angels blog.

Thanks for visiting and have a great day!!

Anyhoooooooo, a little later than usual.. here is my DT card for Stamp Something! Our theme this week is Happy Somethings and we are being sponsored by Karen's Doodles.

As Father's Day is coming up soon I decided to go with that theme for my card. I used this fantabulous image called Born to Ride.

I coloured my image using copic markers and the 'happy' on the flag is a Studio G. I used Tim Holtz papers and grey card that I got in The Crafty Alley's kit and machine stitched it with black thread for contrast. The 'Journey' philosophy tag is from Tim Holtz idea-ology range. My border was done using the EK Success binder edge punch.

ABC Challenges - W for Weather

Good morning!! It's a wet day here again today, I'm guessing Summer is our rain season now, lol!!

This fortnight the theme on ABC Challenges is

W is for Weather.

Our sponsor for this challenge is
Secret Crafter

I used the sketch on Sketch Saturday when making my card. I am also entering into the Anyone for Anya? challenge which is HOT, HOT, HOT.

My image is from The Greeting Farm's Rain, Snow, Shine collection and I've coloured her using copic markers. My papers are BG Kioshi and they are mounted with PM cardstock. My gems are also PM.

The sentiment is from a SeeD's pack that has never even been opened before.. it's amazing what having a clean up find, lol. I used both the circle and scalloped circle nestabilities to make the half circle for the sentiment.

DT Creative Card Crew - Thank You

Hi everyone!! Well I survived the mini marathon yesterday, even though we were soaked. The rain really let us have it, lol. The atmosphere was great, as always and I'm sure plenty of charities will benefit greatly!! I even raised a little money for the Offaly Dyslexia Group.

This fortnights challenge on Creative Card Crew has been set by Victoria and she is also sponsoring us for this challenge with Stampin Up Products.The theme Victoria has chosen is:

Thank You

Here's the prize that Victoria is offering one lucky winner

I went with clean and simple for this one.. now I know it's not clean and simple by some people's standards but it is for me, lol!! I used some off cuts of papers I have piled up, ripped and inked all the edges and then layered them.

I made the tag using Labels 4 nestabilities and Waltzing Mouse nestie compatible stamps. It did bleed out a little as I used watercolour paper and this does tend to happen, but I like the effect.

The ribbon and twine are from my stash.

Thanks so much for visiting, please do visit my teamies' blogs to say hello. And don't forget to enter our challenge this fortnight to be in with a chance of winning all those wonderful Stampin' Up supplies!!

Close up of the prima bling & flowers

Tilda has been coloured using copic markers and I've added stickles to her wings. I've also used stickles on the flowers. All the edges of the door hanger have been inked using Vintage Photo.. love the effect!!

Thanks for popping in today. Please do go visit my teamies' blogs and don't forget to play along this week for a chance at the monthly prize.

Stamp Something Challenges, Stampin' for the Weekend & PaperPlay

Good morning!
Well here we are, another Friday, can you believe it's already June?! My older boys are out of school for the summer and the little man will be finished in another 3 weeks.

It's been a bit of a rollercoaster week. My brother's best friend died on Monday and it threw me all out. I have no concentration and have found it so hard to get my DT work done this week.

On a happier note, my little one has her introduction day today for 'big school' in September. It would all be good only we've been informed that we need to 'drop and go'.. *deep breath... hold... exhale...* We've also been told that we shouldn't hang around the windows.. dang!! lol!!

Enough waffling......

I have 3 cards to share today so apologies for the long post. I'll keep the blurb to a minimum .. like I have so far, right?!! lol!!

First is my PaperPlay which should have been posted yesterday, but like I've said.. I couldn't get my head straight all week.

We are being sponsored by our regular monthly sponsor, Stitchy Bear Stamps. Our winner will recieve 4 gorgeous images, hand picked by me :)

I am also entering it into Crafty Alley's challenge which is  the sketch I've used, and into Scrap Whispers challenge "Something New" - All 3 images I've used on my cards today are new.

I added stickles to her dress and hair bands, and around the sentiment for loads of sparkle.

Image: Mo Manning
Papers: Magnolia
Tools: Circle/scalloped circle nesties, cuttlebug, copic markers, stickles.
Ribbon and flowers from my stash.

*********************

It's Stamp Something's first digi day!!!  We want you to use a digi on your creation.

Our sponsors include Some Odd Girl, Bugaboo, Di's digis, Sew Many and Meljen Designs

I messed up a little here as I was supposed to use a different image, by Some Odd Girl, but again.. head all over the place this week. I had her coloured up and ready to go and then got totally side-tracked and ended up using this cutie by Meljens Designs

I went a little bit MS crazy and punched out 3 rows with the Doily Lace punch. The image is coloured with copic markers, backed with bazzil and then mounted on 3D foam dots. The butterfly punch is also from MS. The papers are PM Rose Garden.. I seriously need more of this!!

Stamp Something also have a DT call open. I can't believe it's been almost 6mths since I joined up and I shall miss it very much when my time is done. You can check out the details HERE.
***********************

Last, but by no means least, is my Stampin' for the Weekend.

Our theme this week is Summer/Travel and we are being sponsored by Simon Says Stamp!!

The very lucky winner will recieve a $25 store coupon and shipping is also free!! How great is that??!!

I went with the Summer theme!! I used another Mo's image on this one. She is called Finna and  I was very lucky to get her free on Facebook, thank you so much Mo!! She's been coloured with copic markers and the sentiment is a Studio G. My papers are BG Kioshi, love them!! The flowers are Prima and I've added a Kaisercraft pearl in the centre. The ribbon is American Crafts.

Well I hope you are still with me, lol..... Please do hop over to all of my teamies' blogs and leave them a little love. Don't forget that there are 2 DT calls out, on PaperPlay and on Stamp Something. If you fancy your chances  then pop over to their blogs for all the details.

Have an absolutely fantastic weekend and happy crafting!!

Crafty Angels - A Sketch by Me :)

"I'm late, I'm late.. for a very important date. No time to say hello, goodbye! I'm late, I'm late, I'm late!" lol. I know exactly how poor white rabbit felt!!

This week on Craty Angels there is a sketch, created by me, to follow.

Here is my take on it:

I am convinced that these PM Blueberry Hill papers are gonna last for-ev-er!! I am still using the same A4 pack that I bought about 6mths ago or more, great value or what!! For this card I mounted it with pink cardstock.

Sweet Tilda is from the gorgeous Magnolia Fairytale Collection and she's been coloured using copic markers.. and a touch of stickles. I've cut her out and mounted her on 3D foam dots. The butterfly was punched out using Martha Stewart punch and I've inked and stickled the edges. The flowers have also been blinged up with stickles.

The gems and star eyelet were from my stash.

Thanks for dropping by, please do pop over to my teamies' blogs to see their take on the sketch.

Have a great day and happy crafting :)
