Whiff of Joy - March Release Previews

This is my second post today. If you're looking for the Waltzingmouse Stamps March sneaks then you'll find it on the post below, or simply click HERE

Tomorrow Whiff of Joy are releasing 2 new lines of stamps, Norma Fickel's Gnomes and Elizabeth Bell's Spring collection which was available as a kit and will now be released as individual stamps.  The DT have been showcasing both lines all week. Today I have 2 more cards to share, using one image from each illustrator.

These Gnomes are just such fun to work with.

My papers are MME 'Gertie' matted with teal and brown cardstock. The image is matted, stitched and mounted on 3D pop dots for added dimention. I've kept this fairly clean and simple by just adding some buttons, scrappers floss and a Tim Holtz adage ticket.

Copics used-
Shirt/Hat - BG72, 75, 78
Pants - E50, 50, 53
Cake - YR00, 02. R21, 22
Shoes - C5, 8, 9
Skin - E00, 02, 11, 51, 21

*********************************

I love that Spring stamps are coming out now and looking out my window today it really does look like Spring is out there.. except for the fact that it's icy cold too.. so I'll have to make do with looking out while staying warm inside, lol.

Again, I've used MME papers but this time I've used  "Mabel" matted with orange and brown cardstock... all machine stitched :) Some luscious flowers from Wild Orchid Crafts gives a real spring feel to the card, along with the flutterbys from my Martha Stewart punch. The paperclip and charm have been in my stash for so long that I have on clue who it's from.

Copic used:
Skin - E00. 02, 11, 21
Dress/Hairband - YR00, 02. E40, 41. BG0000, 10, 11
Hair - E25, 27, 42

Hope you like :)

Waltzingmouse Stamps Previews - Day 3

Welcome to Day 3 of Waltzingmouse Stamps March release previews. Today the team are showcasing Vintage Banners and Bitty Banners. I know these sets are going to excite so many people, including me :D :D !!!

For my project I used Vintage Banners. First thing to spring to mind was a FLAG!!!. Yup, and this set is just full of possibilities. I recently got a pack of lollipop sticks from Annamarie of The Scrapbook Store with the intention of making cake pops, you know... because I'm a real Bakerella... NOT!! lol. Anyway, when I saw the Vintage Banner set I knew I wanted to make a flag. So easy, and just perfect for {us} over excitable moms at any of their kids sport activities..

For the card I used MME papers & teal cardstock and machine stitched them. Then I stamped 2 of the 3 designs of the large stamps - using Pine Needles and Scattered Straw distress inks. I cut them out mounted them on 3D pop dots and used some twine to pull them together. The fabby sentiment is also in the set.

Be sure to check out what the other ladies have made for  your viewing pleasure!! Here's the list....

Have a great day!!

Hi everyone! Hopefully this post has published because I'm still in the UK, sans laptop!! I also hope hubster is surviving being a lone parent, lol. At this stage I reckon he's counting down the hours until I get home!!

This week on CES Challenges our theme is Flowers and Flutterbys. I've had this image for ages but hadn't had a chance to ink her up until now. I'm also entering this card into the Sugar Nellie FB contest.. and will add it when I get home later.

My papers are by Prima and they are called Sparkling Spring. I've paperpieced the dress on my image and coloured her with copic sketch markers.

To embellish I've used lace, flowers, pearl spray and pearl topped pins

Thanks for popping by today. I'll be back tomorrow with tales of my Tim Holtz class and hopefully some photos too!! Don't forget to leave my teamies a little love on their blogs xx

Lili of the Valley & Tickled Pink Challenges

Good morning and happy Sunday!! We're having a chill out morning here and I've just treated the kids to breakfast in bed... and you know what that means.. CRUMBS!! lol.

Today I have a couple of cards I made just for challenges.

I just love Lili of the Valley stamps, the are soooo cute!! This card is for their current challenge -  My Favourite Colours.

It's not hard to see my favourite colours are pink, white and green. Isn't this image just the best??!! I found the sentiment to go with it on Create with TLC.

I used copic sketch markers to colour her and used Star Dust stickles for her skirt, because apparently all tutu skirts should be sparkly - according to one 5yr old Princess.

My flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts. The crown charm, lace and trim are from my stash.

Challenges -
Sketch Saturday  - SKETCH
iCopic Lover - Colour combo
Cute Card Thursday - Shiny Happy cards
Dutch Dare Card Challenge - sparkle/glitter/bling
Paper Pretties - card for a child
Top Tip Tuesday - Stitching

My next card is for Tickled Pink Challenges, who want to see some fabric on your entry. I've been looking at these images for so long and I finally took the plunge this week and bought a digi - Fairy Kira.

She's about 5" tall and she's what I call 'a fairy with attitude'!! lol. She's been coloured using copic sketch and a touch of glitter has been added to her wings. My papers are My Mind's Eye and from the Stella & Rose 'Hazel' collection.

The clock charm is one of many that I picked up at the NEC in November. I really hope to get back to the NEC next month as I loved being able to see/feel what I was buying before buying it!! We have no craft stores here that carry embellishments like these and I mostly shop online.

Other challenges -
Stamp Something - something funky
Totally Papercrafts - use a digi
Wags 'n Whiskers - punches
4 Crafty Chicks - fairy/angel/butterfly
Creative Belli - felt or fabric

Basic Grey & CES Challenges

Good morning and happy Saturday! I have 2 DT cards to share today. First up is Basic Grey Challenges and there is a fabby sketch by the very lovely Heather.

I just had to ink up one of Whiff of Joy's February release stamps, called Nora with Ducks  and I've used Basic Grey Archaic Papers, matted with brown cardstock. I cut out my image with classic oval nesties, but I trimmed out around the puddles first, then I used the scalloped oval nesties to matt it.

The lace, pearls and flowers are from my stash.

Challenges -
Charisma Cardz – Spring has sprung
Copic Creations - Use Warm Colors Copics
Simply Create - bold & bright
Samuel Taylor's Challenge - use Copic or Promarkers

Next up is CES Challenges, and again I used a Whiff of Joy stamp and this one is called Skater Ben

The papers are Whiff of Joy's Spring Paper Pad and I've paired them with kraft cardstock. I made the SK8 tag using the kraft card, a flossed button and pink paislee's alpha stickers. All of my papers have been machine stitched. To finish off I added some more flossed buttons, my favourite 'boy' embellishment :) The pom pom trim is from my stash.

Challenges -
Crafty Catz - one for the men/boys
Aud Sentiments Challenge  - add a trendy saying
Paper Pretties - card for a child

The papers for this card are by Craftwork Cards and are from the Oh La La Collection. I've matted them with deep brown cardstock from The Paper Mill. This was my first attmept at machine stitching a circle.. a little bit wobbly in places but I'm getting the hang of it.

I used the sketch from The Sugar Bowl and made an easel card to enter Sugar Nellie's Facebook challenge.

I coloured my image using all Earth tone (E) copics.
Hair -  44, 43, 42
Pants - 44, 43, 42, 41
Top/Hairband - 53, 51, 50

Waltzingmouse Stamps February Blog Waltz

Please join us for our Friends of Waltzingmouse Stamps Blog Waltz

Hi everyone and welcome to Waltzingmouse's February Blog Waltz. This month our theme is Designing with Buttons..  yep, we wanna see you use buttons on your projects.

If you haven't registered your blog to play along then waltz over to the forum thread to do so, and if you're unsure about how the waltz works check out THIS information page on Claire's blog.

This month we will also be having 'Guess the Theme' game. Find the clues left throughout the DT members blogs and guess the theme of one of the new stamp sets to be released on March 1st. As always, there will be prizes :D

As February is also the month of 'love' I went with a romantic card. When I saw Claire use the Sweethearts stamp set last month I just had to have it. There are so many wonderfully sweet sentiments that can be used for many occasions. Of course, there had to be pink too!!

OK, hands up how many people can successfully photograph a white card??? Seriously, I took about 40 shots and this is the best I could get. It almost drove me insane {or to the nearest saloon!!} I tried it with pink, white, blue, cream and brown backgrounds, lol.

I stamped out both of the large hearts from the Sweethearts set using Victorian Velvet distress ink and trimmed then out. Then I partially layered them over each, mounted them on 3D pop dots and added a flossed button to each one. I got my gorgeous vintage seam binding from Etsy and the fabby rose trim is from An Siopa Bui.  I also added a flossed button to the seam binding.

Thanks for popping by, enjoy the rest of the hop!!

Whiff of Joy DT and another mini album...

Hi everyone!! I've pulled myself out from under the mound of housework and laundry I'm dealing with to share a couple of things I made over the weekend. Yesterday was my birthday and hubster banished me to my craft area {notice I did NOT say craft room -  sad!} with strict instructions to relax and enjoy an afternoon of uninterupted crafting while he kept the kids amused :D :D :D So I finished off an album I started on Saturday and made a card using one of the wonderful new release stamps from Whiff of Joy

This is Nora with Spring Birds. Such a sweetie, don't you agree??

I've coloured my image with Copic sketch markers, to match the papers which are also from Whiff of Joy. The butterfly and sentiment is cut from one of the 'tags' papers. The sentiment has been raised up on 3D foam dots. The floss and button are from my stash.

Challenges:
Stamptacular Sunday - Love and lots of hearts
Allsorts - Love Love Love
Catch The Bug  - Anything Goes
Fairy Fun Fridays – for a sweetheart
Raise The Bar - Hearts
Sew Many Cards - anything goes
Stampin With The Dragon– anything goes
Delightful Challenges- something that flies or has wings
Craft Your Passion - Anything Goes
Ooh La La Creations - For someone special
Paper Playtime - Use Cupid or hearts

****************************

And this is my Tag Album.....

Oh man, did this take a long time. I used buttons, ribbon, lace, metal, pearls, flowers, pins, twine, trim, tags, tickets, grungeboard, chipboard, and on and on.. not to mention the distressing, sanding, stamping, painting, curling..... but it was all worth it in the end!!

A few little close ups...

Another one completed for my Esty shop... I really need to make things that don't take so long to complete, lol.

Thanks for popping by today. I appreciate the visit

Liebster Blog Award

Oooh, Deirdre has kindly given me the Liebster Blog award. The idea behind this award is to give it to people whose talent you admire but feel they do not get the recognition which they deserve, so please do not award this to anyone with say 1,000 followers.

If you have been TAGGED and would like to take part, all you have to do is post the blog award above on your blog and link the person who gave you the award (also let them know you are accepting the award by posting on their blog ).

Then you can choose 3-5 people who you think deserve the award and post their name and blog links on your blog.

Some blogs I admire and think deserve to be shared are...

Julie - Oh Well

Pauline - Polly Pierce
