Kraftin' Kimmie Challenge #100

Good morning and Happy Halloween!!!

I'm starting this post and HOPING that when it comes to adding pics Blogger is gonna play nice, because it's not been playing nice for me all weekend! I set up a Wordpress account way back in 2009 and am thinking about moving if Blogger doesn't get it's act together. Any thoughts/advice would be very welcome :)

Kraftin' Kimmie are celebrating their 100th challenge and their 2nd birthday so they are having a special challenge and all you have to do is use one of your FAVOURITE KK stamps to enter. I have MANY favourites but Charlotte has always had a special place in my heart - I look exactly like her at 8pm every night, just before I put the kids to bed... lol.

I coloured her with copic markers and then trimmed her out, used dimensional dots to mount her onto the card. My papers are MME Lost & Found Rosy, they've all been stitched down onto red cardstock. The sentiment is from Create with TLC and it's perfect for Charlotte - love it!

The flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts. The ribbon, pearls and pins are from my stash.

Good morning afternoon! It's still pretty dark and dismal here - the kind of weather that zaps your energy and enthusiasm for doing much of anything except snuggling up in front of the fire with the kiddos, watching kiddie movies and drinking hot chocolate- all I need now is a log cabin on a snow-capped mountain and I've got my own little fairytale, lol. We can but dream...

This challenge runs thru Tuesday Nov 1 @ midnight EST. And the prize for the winner will be 2 digis from SomeOddGirl.com

Check out what the fabulous ODD DT have created over on the Some Odd Girl Blog

Waltzingmouse Stamps October Release Blog Hop

Hi and welcome to Waltzingmouse Stamps October new release blog hop. If you've arrived here from Sarah's blog then you're on the right track, if not then you need to head back over to Claire's blog where the hop begins and where you'll find the full list of participants today

I do hope you've enjoyed the DT's previews over the last 3 days, as we showcased Seasonal Remedies, Nordic Winter, 2011 Holiday Ornaments and Santa's Coming to Town.

Today we have the final 2 fabulous sets - Candy Jar Christmas and Candy Jar Christmas Fillers.

All of the new sets will be available to purchase once the store re-opens at 7.15pm GMT {which is 15mins from now!!}

I made a little gift set of a Candy Jar and matching Card.

For the candy jar I made a rosette and adhered my image, from Candy Jar Christmas Fillers, into the centre. The image has been shaded using copic markers G20 & G21.

The circular sentiment is from the Candy Jar Christmas set.

These sentiments fit the Circle Nestabilities dies but I trimmed it out with a scissors and sponged the edges with Antique Linen distress ink.

Both the image and sentiment on my card are from Candy Jar Christmas. I hand cut around the image and mounted it on dimensionals. I cut the sentiment out using the 2011 Heirloom Nestabilities dies from Spellbinders.

There will be a prize of a stamp set of choice from a random drawing from one of the Design Team's blog so be sure to leave a comment on all the blogs.  You will have until October 17th 11:59 PM, 5:5 9AM Central, 3:59 AM Pacific and 6:59 AM Eastern.
The winner will be selected on October 18th.

Thank you so much for dropping by. Next stop on the hop is Julia's blog.

Happy Hopping!

Waltzingmouse Stamps October Previews - Day 3

Good morning and welcome to Day 3 of our Waltzingmouse Stamps October release previews. Do you have a favourite so far??!! You might want to hold off on that decision until after you see today's fabulous sets 2011 Holiday Ornaments and Santa's Coming To Town

The red pattern paper is from Bo Bunny Blitzen 6x6 pad. I stamped my Heirloom Ornament with Close to the Heart ink and used the matching nestabilities to cut it out. I punched a hole in the top using the crop-a-dile and threaded some yellow/white bakers twine through.

I also made some tags, using the Nestabilies tag dies. I used Antique Linen and Momento black ink for the image/sentiment and then sponged the background with more Antique Linen. These tags are perfect for Christmas Gifts.

I used various different ribbons threaded through a punched hole at the top of each tag.

Check out what the rest of the DT have created -

Waltzingmouse Stamps October Previews - Day 2

Good morning!! I do hope you're enjoying the Waltzingmouse Stamps previews. Today we have another fantastic set - Nordic Winter. I really had SO much fun with this set.

First I made a card and gift bag set, but the idea of the gift bag is to have some Reindeer Feed in it. The kids would LOVE.IT!!

This set is just so amazing that I even made my own background paper. Not a scrap of MME or BG to be seen!! The ink is Stampin' UP Ruby Red and for the sentiment I used Momento Rich Cocoa. Not sure where I got the red cardstock. The gingham ribbon is from my Raspberry Ribbons kits.

I stamped the gift bag using the same ink - SU Ruby Red - and added some narrower gingham ribbon through 2 punched holes to secure the top. The border work was done using Martha Stewart Antique Lace punch. I cut the circle and scalloped circle with Spellbinders Nestabilities.

While I had all the red and white out, lol, I decided to make a Stocking Gift Card Holder - which is a FREEBIE template over on the Waltzingmouse Stamps store. Again I used the SU Ruby Red ink to lay down my pattern and I sponged on some antique linen distress ink. I found some reindeer charms in my stash, perfect for this project.

The sentiment is from yesterday's preview set Seasonal Remedies.

As I said, I was having so much fun that I really didn't want to stop so I made another card.... only this time I DID break out the patterned papers -  Bo Bunny Blitzen.

I stamped my reindeer image with Antique Linen Distress Ink and the sentiment with the Rich Cocoa Momento. I love how the sentiment fits perfectly between the Reindeer. I cut it out with Nestabilities Tags dies, added some blue organza ribbon and some pearls. All of my papers have been machine stitched.

I had one more project in the pipeline but the kiddos were home from school and they wanted dinner! I will save it for another day ;)

Thank you so much for dropping by, I hope you were inspired to be a little bit creative.

And here are the ladies who are previewing Nordic Winter today......

Good morning!

If you are here for my Waltzingmouse Stamps preview please click HERE

Welcome to Day 3 of the Swimming for Katie Fund Raising Blog Hop. Be sure to read right to the end as we have a very exciting prize update.

From October 10-12 some of the best stampers are joining together to support and encourage our friend and fellow stamper, Katie Renz, who is currently battling inoperable gastric cancer. If you're not familiar with her, Katie’s cancer story started just before Christmas last year. This young, beautiful, healthy, vibrant mother of 3 with her infectious smile was suddenly diagnosed with an inoperable cancer, virtually overnight. A few tummy aches and then stage 4 gastric cancer. Her first post about it is here. The idea of “Swimming for Katie” came from her recent post here.

This exclusive stamp used in my sample, designed by Becky Oehlers is available as a clear stamp, as well as a digis or a dig and SVG cut file. 100% of the profits go to Katie's fund to help her and her young family. Her husband Kevin and her three young children need our help and support. In addition to the Keep Swimming Octopus, Marianne Walker and True =D Doodle Designs both also donated digis that are for sale. Direct donations are also being accepted. Information central is HERE. This is a permanent page that will stay active at i {heart} papers with current information and the full 3 day blog hop listing, as well as the donation button.

I do hope you're sitting comfortably....

.. because guess who's playing catch up a-gain! One or other of my kiddos has been sick since last Wednesday and although I am getting some crafty time, blogging time is limited! So while hubby is amusing the latest casualty to the virus picking on my family I am blogging quickly and trying not to get sidetracked :)

Oh, and of course it's never a completed week without some form of a drama like.. say... the memory card in your camera dying right after you photo a whole tutorial.... won't go there right now!

Soooooo, I have a *few* cards to share....

First up - Color Me Creative
Man this is late, there are only a few more days left on this challenge, which is Vintage/Distressed. The Prize for the winner of this challenge (randomly chosen) will get 3 Magnolia Stamps of their choice from Magnolia-licious and 1 pack of Cryogen Cardstock.

And each month one winner is chosen to receive a $50 gift certificate from OOZAK.

As you may or may not know, Suzanne {owner of Colour me Creative} runs online copic classes filled with wonderful tips and techniques. However, if you want to learn to colour using your copics and live near San Jose, CA you could be lucky enough to be able to attend one of Suzanne's classes. There are only a couple of spaces free on October 22nd and 23rd. Click here for more information. I so wish I lived close enough :(

I am entering this card into the following challenges -

I tell ya I got very excited when I saw the new stamps for October on Whiff of Joy. I ADORE Norma Fickle's Gnomes!!

This one is called From Heaven Above. I've coloured with copic markers and sponged the background. I made the holly leaf tab using the Banners Trio dies.

The papers are from My Mind's Eye Lost & Found Christmas 6x6 paper pad. I added some stardust Stickles to the wings - no wings are complete without it :)

This next image is called A Boy and his Star. Again, I used copic markers and created my background by adding little dots around the image.

I have no clue what brand the papers are, I bought a bunch of loose 6x6 sheets. I added some blue organza ribbon, blue bakers twine and a winter charm for embellishment.

Challenges -
I Did It Creations - Anything Goes

This card is one I made for Quixotic Paperie,  using one of Kraftin' Kimmie's wonderful stamps - Angry Ballerina

The background stamp is by Paper Makeup Stamps and the papers are from My Mind's Eye, Lost and Found - Rosy collection. I coloured my image with copic markers and added some star dust Stickles to the frill on her dress. Then finished off with pearls, Cherry Red bakers twine and a punched butterfly for embellishment.

For my card I used one of Tickled Pink Stamps' images - Mad Hatter. My papers are Basic Grey Little Black Dress.

The 'Admit One' stamp is from Tim Holtz. I had lost it, but it turned up stuck to the side of my clear copic marker storage, lol. The 'Believe' disc is also from Tim Holtz's collections and the clock charm is one I picked up at the NEC last year.

I do believe that's it! lol. If you are still with me, thank you for sticking it out.

Back tomorrow with my card for the Swimming for Katie Fundraising 3 Day Blog Hop.
Have a great day
