Happy World Cardmaking Day !!!

Good morning and Happy World Cardmaking day! To celebrate this wonderful occasion La-La Land Crafts are previewing their new release stamps which will be available to pre-order from today and have an expected ship date of October 15th. This whole collection are just too cute for words and I absolutely adore them all.

Just a little info about World Cardmaking Day...
World Card Making Day began in 2006 as National Card Making Day. Founded by Paper Crafts magazine to bring card makers together at the beginning of the busiest card-making season of the year, it was first held on October 7, 2006. The initial celebration involved the Paper Crafts magazine audience only; however, due to the positive response it received and the worldwide popularity of card making, the holiday became known as World Card Making Day from then on.

Celebrating its fifth year in 2010, World Card Making Day is celebrated annually on the first Saturday in October. It's a day for the card-making community -- hobbyists, retailers, and manufacturers -- to unite and celebrate the connection and creativity that is the heart of card making.

I love Autumnal colours, don't you?! It's my favourite crafting season so I just had to have Autumn Marci.

Basic Grey Challenges - Doilies and Ribbons

Hi!! Before I get to my card today I would like to tell you that I will be posting a Blog Candy here on my blog tomorrow. I recently noticed that I had almost 70,000 hits on my blog. It's gone over 70, 000 now and still climbing and I would love to say a big thank you to everyone who takes the time to visit me. So don't forget to drop by tomorrow!!!

This fortnight the theme for our challenge on Basic Grey Challenges is to use Doilies and Ribbons on your project.

While searching through my Magnolias recently I came across some older ones that I'm not sure I ever used..*shock*. It really is shameful how we become 'collectors' of stamps, lol.

I had also found Basic Grey Eerie in the Simon Says Stamp store recently so I made a  HALLOWEEN card! I figure since people have already started their Christmas cards it was pretty ok for me to do Halloween ;) I matted my papers onto silver and black card and machine stitched them all, slipping a 1/2 doily in between they layers.

I coloured my Witch Tilda with Copics - E00, 01, 11, R20. C1, 3, 5, 8. YG00, 06. V11, 13. E43, 50. E31, 33, 35. Y21, 26, 28.  The flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts, the black ribbon from my local store and the purple seam binding is from an Etsy Store. I'm not sure where the ghost button or the black lace came from.

Other Challenges -
Inspire Me Fridays - always anything goes
Magnolia Lovers - Flowers
Fussy and Fancy - Sketch
AiFactory -  Double Time {2 Ribbons}
Aud Sentiments Challenge - Sentiment with at least two words

Have a great Saturday!!

DT Whiff of Joy - Football Ben

Hi everyone! What a GLORIOUS few days we've had. Sun is shining and it's warm enough for the kidlets to be outside without coats! Of course along with the good, out come the bugs.. hubster 'dealt' with the most HUMUNGOUS wasp yesterday.. *shudder*

Anyhoooo.. my little man had a very busy weekend, with parties to attend. One of the parties was for a boy who is football crazy so I used Whiff of Joy's "Football Ben" digi on his card.

And what better papers to use for a boys card than Basic Grey Archaic!! I literally only have scraps of this 6x6 pad left, but these papers are so easy to work with that scraps are no problem.

I machine stitched the papers and added some twine. Very clean and simple. as my boy cards tend to be,  lol.

Copics used - E00, 01, 11, 42, 43, 44. G20, 21, 24. B41, 45. YR14, 15, 18. C8, 5, 3.

Challenges -
Simon Says Stamp - For a Child
Bunny Zoe's Crafts - One for the Boys
Make it Monday - Anything goes

PaperPlay Challenges - Let it Snow!!

Good afternoon!! Well if you read the title of this post you'll see that our challenge on PaperPlay this week is LET IT SNOW.. no explanation needed, right??! Well you'd think that anyway ... but if you can find snow on my card you've got great sight.. or a wonderful imagination, lol. I totally lost the run of myself and just made a CHRISTMAS card, not a flake of snow in sight.. is it too late to change the challenge??? ha!!

My image is called Angel Delivering Christmas Tree and I've coloured her with copic sketch markers, then I cut her out and mounted her on 3D pop dots. Once I had her stuck down I stickled her wings.  The sentiment is by Lili of the Valley.

My papers are Cosmo Cricket 'Mitten Weather' and are just gorgeous IRL. I've inked them all with Antique Linen distress inks and added a cream doily to place my image on. I've also added some fabulous lace :)

The large flat flowers are Prima Craftables and I've coloured them using Patina Glimmer mist. Just a couple of spritzes so that it didn't cover the whole flower, I wanted the splashes look. I added Wild Orchid Crafts Rose and pearls to the centres. I used the Whiff of Joy 'Leaves' die to cut out my leaf and placed it behind the flowers. For a bit of extra bling I used some Prima e-line pearl swirl

Challenges:
Whiff of Joy - Sketch by Tara
Wild Orchid Challenges - Blue Christmas
ABC Christmas - X for Xmas

Thanks for popping in!! Have a great day

Halloween Card for a few Challenges

Hi! Just a quick post today with a card I made for a few challenges. I saw this cute Witch digi on Mamidoodles and just had to have her. She's soooooooo cute!!

It was only while making this card that I realised how few Halloween papers or emellishments I have. I suppose it's partly because we don't "do" Halloween here in a big way, but I love to make Halloween themed projects regardless.

I coloured The Witch using copics and sponged the background with Bundled Sage distress ink. My ribbons are from the remnants of my Raspberry Ribbon kits.  The flowers are some older primas that I had in my stash.

The Challenges:
Simon Says Stamp - Halloween
iCopic Lover - Purple, Orange & Black
Papertake Weekly - favourite challenge from the last 3 years. - Frightful but Delightful from Oct 2008
Double Dutch - Boo to You

Thanks for popping in.. now I'm off to make dinner!! Back tomorrow :)

PaperPlay Challenges - Autumn is Coming

Hi everyone! We have a great challenge for you over on PaperPlay Challenges

Autumn is Coming

We would love to see creations using the colours of Autumn.

Our fabulous regular monthy sponsor, Simon Says Stamp, is offering $15 to spend in their store to the very lucky winner of this challenge.

I've had this free Tea Baggie template from Waltzing Mouse Stamps for a while and finally got around to playing with it this week. I used some wonderful Basic Grey 'Green at Heart' papers and inked them all with Brushed Corduroy distress ink.

I used both the circle and scalloped circle nesties and the sentiment is also by Waltzing Mouse, from the Afternoon Tea set. I added some Wild Orchid roses and rose leaf -  and a little teapot charm I had in my stash. The big yellow button was, I'm sure, sent to me by my good friend Dee2.

Now, I am off to clear up the mess I made last night while doing Kirsty Wiseman's online crop. It was so much fun that I almost didn't get my layout done - I will be posting it on my other blog in a while.

Thanks for popping by! Be sure to go over and say hello to my very talented DT on PaperPlay!!

Back to School with Creative Card Crew

Ok, so who else is having trouble believing it's the last day of August?!! The kids are back to school tomorrow and my little Princess will take her first step into a whole new world of learning. My stomach is in knots thinking about leaving her at those school gates :'( :'( Of course she is so excited and can't wait and thankfully she'll be finished at midday for the first week and a half.

So we have quite an appopriate theme on Creative Card Crew this week

Back to School

We are breing sponsored by Simon Says Stamp, our regular and valued sponsor.

My Greeting Farm image is a digi download and I've coloured her using copic sketch markers - which are on sale at a great price over in the Simon Says Stamp Store.

I've been trying to use up papers that have just been sitting in my paper box begging not to be ignored any more. The ones I used on this card are from Kaisercraft's Gypsy Sisters collection. The red/yellow paper on the front panel is glittered and just so lovely. As the papers were such deep colours I brightened it up with a white doily, white ribbon and light coloured Wild Orchid flowers.

Thanks so much for looking in today. Be sure to visit my teamies blogs to see their wonderful creations.

I am also entering this card into Stamp Something's challenge - Back to School

Stampin' for the Weekend - Back to School

Woo hoo, it's nearly that time again! The kids are back to school in 3 weeks and it's not a moment too soon. Rain for most of the summer (again) has left them stuck indoors and very hard to amuse. Ok, so I'll miss the morning lie ins, the pj days, the easy going routine but I won't miss the fighting, crying, whining and screaming!!! Love my kids really :)

Anyhoooo.. enough of my rambling. The challenge on Stampin' for the Weekend for this fortnight is Back to School.

We are sponsored by Simon Says Stamp, our very generous monthly sponsor and the prize up for grabs is a $25 voucher to spend in their online store!! With all the new CHA stuff coming out this is definitely a prize to have :D

My background paper is from Kaisercraft and is called Simon Says (how apt, lol) and I've paired it with some Bo Bunny "Sophie" and brown cardstock.

The cute image is from The Greeting Farm and she's been coloured using copic markers. I used nesties Labels 2 to cut out my image and shaded the background with Spun Sugar and Victorian Velvet distress ink.

Both ribbons, button threaded with scrappers floss, Wild Orchid flowers and pink crystal gems are from my stash.

Copics Used:
Skin: E11, E21, E51, E00, E000
Cheeks: E02
Skirt & Hairclip: E15, E18
Shirt: R81, R83, R85

PaperPlay Challenges - Simons Says Stamp - Cute Card Thursday

MORNING!! Well today is weekly shopping day *big sigh*. The kids have taken to nibbling at the furniture and the cat has gone into hiding after some very hungry looks from said kids, so I figure it's time to get some food in!!

Today I have 3 cards to share...

First up is two cards I made for PaperPlay Challenges whose theme is ANYTHING GOES. I used some Waltzing Mouse stamps and they are sponsoring this week.

I am also entering into the Cute Card Thursday which is TEXTING CRAZY - they want to see text being the predominant feature on your card.

On this card I used  Rescue Remedies - which are nestie friendly and compatible with Labels Four. I used London Fog momento ink for stamping the sentiment. The papers are Bo Bunny and the ribbon and button are from my stash.

This card was made using the hearts and a sentiment from Sewing Box Hugs. I stamped out the large heart twice, cut the first one on the outside row of 'stitching' and the second one on the inside row. Then I stamped out the smaller heart from the set. I inked them all and layered them - then added a cream pearl to the centre. Then I added some lace and wild orchid flowers to finish off.

I will be entering this card into Wild Orchid's challenge - Lovely Lace

If you would like a chance to win A FULL SET of fantastic Waltzing Mouse stamps then make sure to play along HERE

Next up is for Simon Says Stamp whose theme is GOING DOTTY and Stamp Something Challenges with SOMETHING FLOWERY.

I used a free Kenny K digi image and coloured her with copic markers. I love how funky these images are. I bought some others but I loved this free one too much not to use it:)

The papers are from my scraps box and are a mix of Pink Paislee & Jenni Bowlin. I punched the border using a MS punch and inked all my papers with Brushed Cordoroy distress ink. Again, I used some WO flowers, dotty ribbon and black gems to embellish.

Wow, what a long post! If you're still with me thanks for popping by today. Have a great Thursday and happy crafting!!

Crafty Angels meets Simon Says Stamp

Morning all :) We're off to the zoo today, naughty parents taking the kiddos out of school for a day of fun, lol.

Before I set off I would like to share my DT card for Crafty Angels. The theme this week is "Ripping and Tearing". I used the sketch from Simon Says Stamp so am entering into their challenge.

These hAnglar stamps are sooo running close being my favourite cutsie stamps. I tell ya, they are giving my Maggies a run for their money.... of course I don't have any of the fairytale Maggies yet so I'll hold off on judgment for now, haha!!

I have coloured using Copic sketch markers and gave her an outline to make her 'pop'. The papers have been ripped and inked with vintage photo.

I've used Star Dust Stickles on all of my flowers, the butterfly and the wings on my image. I've also inked the flowers with Victorian Velvet distress inks. I made the photo corners using the co-ordinating cardstock and have also inked & stickled them. The ribbon and white ric rac is from my stash.

Image: hAnglar and stAngler kit 4
Papers: PM Rose Garden & Coredinations cardstock
Tools: TH distress inks, copic markers, x-Cut 3D butterly punch, oval & scallop oval
nestabilities, cuttlebug
