Wowzers!!

No card for this post, I just wanted to share a blog that I came across (through Kim's blog) that just blew me away.

The thing that most blew me away is that Hanna is 13yrs old and is on the design team for Magnolia Stamps.  Her work is absolutely amazing...Check it out for yourself, but don't say I didnt' warn you, lol!! Keep a firm hold of your jaw, lest it hits the ground ;)

PDD Tuesday meets Friday Sketchers

I made this card as my DT card for Pezzy's Playgroup and I also used the sketch from Friday Sketchers (rotated it 90 degrees counter-clockwise to suit my image).

I inked up Princess Priya from the International Princesses range and coloured her using copic markers. I added glossy accents to the red jewel, and adhesive pearls to the rest of the head dress. I added some highlight to her cheeks using the Inkessentials White pen. It's not very often these particular Primas are opened, lol, but I thought they went really well with the papers so I forced myself to use some. The sentiment is from Whiff of Joy.

I found my dp at the GBCE in Athlone last weekend. It is called Planes and Trains and is by G.C.D Studios. Wonderful papers and they have so many collections to choose from. I then finished off my card by adding some Pez-A-Blings in co-ordinating colours.

Anyone for Anya - Just Magnolia/Simon Says - Crafty Angels

I finally got to sit down yesterday evening to catch up on a few challenges and DT cards. I spent the whole weekend at a craft event and didn't get to make ONE single thing... how did that happen??!! It was a wonderful weekend though. My classes went really well, the ladies were just to great and eager to learn. I met up with people that I've not seen in a long time and also put some faces to forum names :) The whole weekend was spent relaxing and chatting.. but no crafting for me, lol!!

First thing's first - The fantastically talented DawnyP kindly asked me to do a 2 week stint as GDT on her Anyone For Anya challenge blog! I am DELIGHTED to have been asked and of course I said yes :D This week's challenge is a sketch by Dawny and here is my take:

I used the new(ish) Edward stamp and some papers I had left over from my DLO at Annamarie's crop. The papers are from the Industrial Park Collection. Fantastic papers... I'd love to get them again :) The sentiment is from a HUGE box of embellishments by K & Company. The brown rik rak and pewter gems are from my stash.

Next up is my entry for the Just Magnolia Challenge. This week it's a colour combo of Pink and Grey with the option of adding black. I have LOVED this colour combo ever since I first saw the Princess Pirate Collection by Rusty Pickle. (I am still hoarding some of this paper *blush*)

I used the sweetest Tilda and a mix of MME Wild Asparagus & BG Bittersweet. I can't remember where I got the box of flowers but there are pinks, blacks, greys, pinks with black polka dots, black with white polka dots and the gem embellishments to match... super value!! The black ribbon and white button are from a kit by Raspberry Ribbons.

I also added faux stitching around the image and grey dp so that I could enter it into Simon Says Stamp challenge this week. Their challenge is "Stitch it Up", and they are on a quest for 200 entries so if you've got the time make sure to enter!!

This week over on the Crafty Angels Blog our challenge was set by Mandy and she asked for Embossing.

For this card I used the oh so sweet "A kiss for Chloe" stamp from Sarah Kay. My papers are Blue Awning and I matched them with yellow and blue-grey cardstock. I used the Martha Stewart Doily Lace punch to do the border and embossed the yellow card with Swiss Dots. I added little pearls around the card to finish it off. The ribbon trim is from a little drapery store in town.

All of my images were coloured using Copic markers.

Have a great day :)

Ooops... PDD Friday (on Saturday!!) & PaperPlay Challenges

I had this post scheduled for yesterday, for my PDD Friday, but I set it at the wrong date :$

This is the little Milk Crate & Cartons that I made for my class at the GCBE which is running this weekend in Athlone.

This set is super fun to make and is basically all cardstock. I went for a Christmas Theme on this particular set and have an Autumnal set in progress :) The Santa and Hanging Stockings stamps are SeeD's  and the sentiment & Reindeer stamps are Studio G. I used copics markers to colour in my images. The handle is cut out using my nestabilities, as are the circles and scalloped circles.

( (how cute is this little Studio G Reindeer?!!)

The design paper on top of each carton is literally all the design paper you need. Mine is from The Glitter Stack (DCWV). The bottom of each carton has a little tab so they can be opened to fill them with treats/toys.. a fun gift for many occasions!!

The template for this project can be found HERE.

Please do go check out the other Pezzy DT members blogs to see what they've been up to. You can find the links on my sidebar :)

Our challenge this week on PPC was set by Julie and her choice was "Spot This". Julie LOVES spots and stripes but can't bring herself to cut into them, so this challenge may have seen tears from her, lol!!

I used MME Laundry Line on this one. I'm not sure I'll EVER tire of this paper stack - I LOVE it!! I coloured my Manga Girl with copics and shaded the background with Tattered Rose distress ink. I also used another favourite on this card - Prima Hydrangeas :) The floss, ribbon, pearls and buttons are from my stash.

I am off now to pack up and have another day of ink, paper and glue!! Have a wonderful Saturday!!

Whiff of Joy/Papertake Weekly/Basic Grey

Today's card combines 3 challenges

I just adore this Kneeling Willow image, she's so thoughtful looking. I coloured her with copics and highlighed her cheeks with Inkessentials white pen, then I shaded the background using distress inks. I used my nesties to cut her out.. don't you just love the labels dies!!! My papers are a mix of BG Two Scoops and Porcelain and all of the brads are BG too (from various collections). I embossed the green paper with the birds & swirls folder and then sanded it down to make it more obvious... I hope it is!!

The rest of this week is going to be manic for me. My kits arrived today, so I need to make samples for  my classes this weekend. I have some of them started and was just waiting on stamps to finish off so I'm hoping it won't turn out to be a marathon crafting session for the next 3 days, lol.. my poor children!!

Ingredients:
Image: Kneeling Willow (Whiff of Joy)
Papers: BG Two Scoops & Porcelain
Copics, Distress inks, file
Brads (BG) , Ribbon & Prima Hydrangea's.

Nestabilities Labels 5, Cuttlebug, Embossing folders

PDD Tuesday & Just Magnolia Challenge

Good  morning and happy Tuesday!!

Today's card is made for my Pez-A-Doodle Designs DT  and Just Magnolia Challenge - Week 23, which is a great sketch by Bev.

I used the very pretty Tilda with Bee and coloured her using a combination of copics and distress inks. My papers are MME Maggie May and Bazzil cardstock. I used stickles on the primas and the bee's wings to add some sparkle.

Right now, and for a limited time, Studio G $1 goodies are 15% off @ Pez-A-Doodle Designs. The Halloween series is selling out fast so if you want it don't delay!!  For the distress fans among us there is a fantastic range of Tim Holtz Idea-ology products in stock at great prices.
Watch out for some exciting new releases soon ;)

Crafty Angels meets Pile it On & more...

This week on Crafty Angels it was Caz's turn to set the challenge, which was 'Punches & Die-cuts'. I decided to make a Notecard Box and some notecards using the tutorial HERE, however I altered the size to make it a 4x4 as I wanted to make bigger notecards ;)

The box is made up mainly from cardstock and I used the Martha Stewart 2Dot punch on the lid. I also punched out some butterflies for both the notecards and the box. The papers are from Dovecraft's Eastern Bloom paper pack and the die-cut flowers are from Papermania.

I am also entering this into:

Fancy some WOJ candy?? Well check out Jacqui's blog to get all the details on how you could win some!!

Whiff of Joy Sketch Challenge

The Whiff of Joy Challenge this week is a wonderful sketch by Heather. I flipped the whole sketch 90 degrees.

There are quite a lot of layers but I really enjoyed the challenge. I used Willow with Strawberry Basket from the Summer 2009 Collection and coloured her using Copic markers. The sentiment is also from the Summer collection.

I used MME Laundry Line papers... love how they pop against the black cardstock. I distressed the papers and the image background using TH inks.  The pink flowers are Prima and I bought the roses from Cardz n Scrapz. I also followed through to the inside, but no stamping ;)

Don't forget that the Whiff of Joy GDT call is ending on Sept 19. You can check out the details on Katharina's Blog.

PDD Tuesday / Crafty Angels

This is the second week of the kids being in school and finally we are settling nicely into a routine. It's sure quiet without my little Princess here, but she's LOVING being in school. We took the decision to send her to 3 weeks of Summer Camp (with her brother) which was held at her pre-school in July and it was definitely the best thing we could have done. She got to know teachers while having her brother there for reassurance and she's totally at ease with being in school now.

Of course I had envisioned having those precious hours to myself, to be creative without 'help', but it's been so quiet that I've had to be out of the house until I collect her from pre-school, then I come home to work on my cards with her 'help', lol.

This is my little Princess on her first day @ school.

(she was trying to run away from the camera!!)

OK, enough of the rambling on... On to today's card. Today is Pez-A-Doodle Tuesday and I've also made my card for my Crafty Angels DT, which was a sketch set by Laura.

In my Crafty Angels kit there was the uuuuuuuuuber cute Magnolia Monkey and sentiment and the gorgeous Blue Awning papers. I coloured my image and also shaded the background using distress inks.

The pearl brads are from PM and they are one of my favourite embellies. I also totally love Skittles and Pez-A-Blings!! The Halloween mix of Pez-A-Blings and Spider Skittles are available right now and would look fantastic on all of your Halloween projects!! Check them out before they are gone!!
Happy Crafting!!

PDD Tueday meets Crafty Creations

Wow, it's another really wet day here. Summer is truly over I think :S

Today's card is made using a sketch on Tuesday Morning Sketches. Pez-A-Doodle Designs is sponsoring this challenge and prize up for grabs is a $15 gift certificate for the store!! This was a great sketch to work with, please do check it out.

So it was back to distress inks for the colouring on my Gorjuss Girl. I really need to build up my copic stash, I don't have enough colours!!! I do love my inks too though :)

For my papers I used MME Wild Asparagus, bazzil pink & bazzil cream card. I really like how they all worked together.

I used glossy accents on the flowers to give them some dimention.

The ribbon, brad and button are from my stash. I finished off the card with a sentiment from Studio G

I also made the card for the Crafty Creations Challenge.. who asked for 3 or more patterned papers, but then I realised that it's probably too late to enter this week!

Some Challenges...

Seeing as we had such a wet day yesterday I managed to get 2 challenges done and another almost done, it just needs to be finished off. It really helped that most of the challenges this week are sketches, so I really only had to think about papers/embellies :D

Whiff of Joy #46

Sketch by Bev

I used the sweet "Sitting Fall Willow" from my kit, coloured her with distress inks. and shaded the background with Antique Linen. Then using my craft knife I cut out around her feet/legs before using the curved rectangle nesties so that she was sitting on the end. The sentiment is also from the kit and I cut it out using the oval nesties, then mounted it onto a scalloped oval.

My papers are Bloom & Grow and I paired them with brown core'dinations. I used the MS Doily punch to make the scallops on Bev's sketch. The ribbon is from a kit that I bought but I can't remember the brand.. and it's driving me nuts!! lol.

Sentiment: Magnolia
Papers: Basic Grey Porcelain & PM Cardstock
Ribbon, adhesive pears, button & scrappers floss from my stash
Copic markers, Distress Inks, Studio G flourish

Stampin' for the Weekend/ PDD Friday!!

Good morning!! Well today is my first day as DT member for Stampin' for the Weekend. I'm very excited to be working alongside these amazing ladies :D

This week the challenge is a wonderful colour combo of Orange, Teal & Pink!!

These are not colours I would have normally put together but they look FAN.TAST.IC!!

Also this week we have two wonderful guest designers, Carlie (who is only 11yrs of age!!) and Lorraine. Please do check out their wonderful blogs :)

I used Tilda from the Magnolia Fall Kit and coloured her with distress inks. Then I cut her out to 'sit' her on the bottom of the curved rectangle that I cut out using my nestabilities. I distressed the background paper with Tattered Rose and added stars using Studio G stamps. The sentiment is also a Studio G. I used a lace trim that I found in An Siopa Bui, isn't it just divine!!! I'll definitely be back for more :) My papers are MME Bloom & Grow.
