Alcohol Inks Project - Buttons!!
This is a box I made for storing the random buttons I find lying around the house. I made it using a small cardboard box. First I painted the box bright green and left it to dry off for a day or two.
I used a 6x4 piece of Ranger paper, 3 Ranger alcohol inks (slate, currant & meadow) and one Ranger mixative (gold). I put a few drops of each of the inks onto the ink blender and dabbed all over the paper. Then I used Blending solution and blended the colours together. I then cut the paper into slim strips and then cut the strips to make tiles.
I added a little lace trim to the front of the box and then I stuck on the tiles randomly usingdouble sided tape. Then I added purple cardstock along the edges. To finish it off I stuck on some of the buttons from the box on the top.
This was the first project I'd done using alcohol inks and I loved it! They are such fun to work with and the effect if brilliant!!
All linked items are available over on Pez-A-Doodles Designs

Alcohol inks & Skittles
Today I played around with alcohol inks. I am working on a project using them and have been practicing with blending/adding colour/changing effect/adding metal mixatives. They really are quite addictive!! The best thing I've found so far is that if I don't like the colour it's coming out I can just add a different colour or a little blending solution, onto the applicator tool or straight onto the paper, and it changes the whole look of it. And there are so many different colours to choose from, the colour combinations are endless.
I am using Ranger paper specifically designed for the alcohol inks and that also makes a world of difference. I tried using regular glossy paper but the inks soaked in too much and it was impossible to blend them. It's just so worth it to have the right paper.

Here is something else I wanted to show you...
These are the new GLITTERED skittles now available on Pez-A-Doodle Designs webite!! They are just gorgeous!! Notice the melon ones too??? Well there are also Bees, Ladybugs and Snails. Check them out HERE!!

Split Coast Stampers Sketch & Just Magnolia Challenge
Split Coast Stampers Sketch #229.
I stamped Butterflies A-Flutter with TH distress ink and then brushed Heirloom Gold Perfect Pearls over it before it dried completely. It's hard to see in the picture but the image shimmers. Then I distressed the background with Antique Linen and spritzed it with glimmer mist. The background papers are Papermania - Exquisite and Core'dinations cardstock, which I ran through the cuttlebug and then sanded to bring out the core colour. I just added some adhesive pearls to finish it off.

Cleo's Cupcakes - PDD Wednesday
I made this card for PDD Wednesday!! I'm so into cupcakes right now and wanted to do something a little different but still using the gorgeous Princess Cleo stamp from Pez-A-Doodle Designs.
I stamped one cupcake, from Polka Dot Pie Chocolate Treats 1 .... masked it and stamped another cupcake to both the left and right of it. Then I stamped Princess Cleo and cut her out. I coloured all my images using distress inks, added some stickles to the cupcakes and then used foam dots to mount them onto the backing paper. I added some Pez-A-Blings to the corners and some pink ribbon to finish it off. The sentiment is one of my Studio G's... love 'em!!

Hugs for my Niece
I made this card for my 3yr old niece, who fell yesterday and broke her leg. She was in such a lot of pain and had to endure surgery last night, as the bones had moved and needed to be set right. Hopefully she will be home today :) She is such an active child who loves to run around and be outdoors all the time so this is going to be so hard on her. She's too young to have crutches and will have to be pushed around either in a wheelchair or stroller. I've no doubt that it's going to be equally as tough on her mum.
I also carried the design to the inside of this one. This is the first time I've done the inside and I like it!!!!
Card ingredients:
Papers: Pink Paislee Fascinating, K & Co. Que Sera Sera and BG Urban Prairie
Distress Inks - Fired Brick, Broken China, Frayed Burlap, Dried Marigold, Tattered Rose & Spiced Marmalade.
Blossoms: Prima - Got Flowers Winter
Ribbon - East of India

PaperPlay Challenge - Week 16 - Flying High
This weeks Challenge was set by Jackie
How I did it:
I distressed the background with Fired Brick, Antique Linen and Broken China distress inks and stamped the swirls using Brushed Cordoroy and then brushed some Rust Perfect Pearls across it before it dried fully. I used crackle paint on the wings and heart and used a heat gun to both dry it faster, and to curl the wings up. I glued the wings onto the tag and then the heart onto the wings. I'm not sure what brand the sentiment is as it was sent to me by my dear friend Dee Dee. When everything was just about dry I spritzed the whole tag with copper Glimmer Mist and again used the heat gun to dry it off.
Tag ingredients: (all linked items are available at Pez-A-Doodle Designs)
Tim Holtz - Grungeboard Wings & Heart, Crackle Paint,- Fired Brick, Old Paper Distress Stickles - Fired Brick, Distress Inks - Fired Brick, Antique Linen & Broken China
Swirl Stamps - Inkadinkadoo
Perfect Pearls - Rust
Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist - Copper.
Once I had that one finished I did another -
This time I applied a TH Mask and distressed the tag using Faded Jeans, then I removed the mask and applied Fired Brick. I spritzed the whole tag using glimmer mist. Then I distressed the edges of my patterned paper and glued it to the bottom of the tag.. then added a little bit of ribbon, a button and a tiny tag onto which I stamped a cute bird from the Inkadinkadoo Flourishes.
The challenge is to use Wings on your project, Birds, butterflies, fairies whatever you like as long as it has wings.
This week I did a tag for my challenge entry. How I did it:
