ABC Challenges - E for Easel

Good morning! It's been such a busy week and my little blog has been sorely neglected. I have a couple of things to share with you today. First up is my ABC Challenges DT card. This will be my last time joining ABC as a DT member but it's time for me to move on. I've loved being on this team and will miss them.

This challenge is E for Easel and we are being sponsored by Secret Crafter

The image I used is from Waltzing Mouse's newest releases and the set is called Half Pint Heroes. I coloured it using copic markers and added glossy accents to the moon {yes, the green moon, lol}. Boy did it take forever to dry. The stars and sentiments are also from the set.

My papers are BG Oliver - deeelish papers!! And to hold the easel in place I used 2 glittered skittles.

Be sure to pop over to the ABC blog to see my teamies' wonderful creations.

Next up is the double layout I did for my class last weekend. Apologies to the ladies waiting for me to blog it - I don't know where the days have gone!!

I just loved working with these Sassafras papers and although I'm not usually a fan of 'pre-made' pages I decided to use one {first layout} for the class and layer it up.. turned out pretty ok :)

Thanks for stopping by, have a wonderful day

This week our challenge on PaperPlay Challenges is COFFEE AND CREAM. Use only shades of brown on your creation. I love this colour choice, it's the one I usually do when a monochromatic project is needed. I really, really enjoyed making this card.

My image is called Connected Boy and is available HERE

I've coloured him using copic markers and shaded the background with Brushed Cordoroy distress ink.

Just Inklined - Halloween Challenge

Ok Ok, so you're probably sick of looking at me popping up over the past couple of days and I promise this is the last post.. well 2nd last, lol. I came across Just Inklined through Facebook and they are giving away a free Mummy image for a limited time. As I downloaded it I felt it was only right to enter their challenge - which ends at midnight tonight (GMT) so I'm scooting in on the dying hours..*edited to add that it seems there are still 14+ hrs left in which to get an entry in - why not give it a bash!!*

I recently found a little box of Halloween stash that I'd put up and in it were some scraps of paper from Imaginisce. They are last year's halloween papers and I can't remember the name.

The tiny bit of Trick or Treat ribbon is all I had left from what my friend Dee Dee sent me. She gets the most scrumptious ribbon - I wanna live in the States!!  I used the MS  Drippy Goo punch for the border and the sentiment is from Waltzing Mouse Stamps "Midnight Feast" set.

The copics I used on this image were W7, W5, W3 & W1.

Thanks again for looking in on my blog. I really appreciate your visit.

Music Saves My Soul Saturday & Anyone for Anya? Challenge

Good morning. Something a little different to start off with today. Marcea from Marcea's Crafting Corner has resumed her Saturday music posting with a great name - Music Saves My Soul.

I love 80's music.. I was a teen child in the 80's and always loved music of any genre, depending on my mood at the time. I guess some things never change.... who wants to guess my mood today?? ;)

To play along please post the picture of 'Music Saves My Soul' to your sidebar and link it to Marcea's blog to help spread the word. Then share your music video on your blog and link it up and Marcea will send a little candy to her favourite song each week. Fun or what??!!

Now then, on to my Anyone for Anya? DT card and this week we want to see MONOCHROMATIC creations - which means different tones/shades of the one colour.

The first thing that popped into my head when I read the challenge was Basic Grey Capella. Perfect!! I matted it with tan coloured cardstock. The border work was done with MS's Doily Lace Punch.

I coloured my image with copics sketch markers -
Skin: E21, 51, 00, 000, 02(blush)
Shoes, Coat & Hat: E44, 43, 42, E35(buttons)
Scarf & Flower: E50, 51, 53
Hair: E35, 33, 31

and I distressed the background with Brushed Cordoroy ink.

The yummy lace is one of ebay bargains - and that reminds me, I need to restock :D To embellish I added Wild Orchid flowers, 3mm self adhesive pearls and a Tim Holtz adage ticket.

This week we are sponsored by Crafty Sentiments

and the prize is a fabby Christmas digi image. Be sure to hop over to the BLOG to check out both the prize and my teamies' wonderful work.

Have a grrrreat Sunday!

A few challenges in one...

Hi everyone. Well another card from me :)  I got a couple of hours to play today so I made a card to enter some challenges with.

My papers are Basic Grey Kioshi and they've all been inked with Victorian Velvet distress ink. I've coloured my sweet Maggie with copic markers and paper pieced her skirt. The lace I've used is from Craft Brulee and at it's thickest it is 3.25" in width. I've added some stickles here and there on the flowers and image for a little bit of sparkle and shine :D

The Challenges:
Basic Grey Challenges - Paper Piecing
Papertake Weekly - Photo inspiration
Just Magnolia - Lace it up
Wild Orchid Challenges - Pearls and Pins

Now I'm off to watch a movie. Don't you just love how Tesco sells cheap movies AND chocolate.. they make it too easy, lol.

CES Challenges Baby Bonanza & Tag it for SFTW

Good morning!! I have 2 baby cards to share today.. one for a {late} Stampin' for the Weekend and the other for CES Challenges.

I'll start with CES Challenges and our theme is BABY BONANZA.

I am also entering this card in to the Waltzing Mouse Sketches challenge.

My papers are Pink Paislee 'Cupid' and they've been inked with Antique Linen distress ink. I used both lace and pale pink sheer ribbon - I love how lush they are together!! I made the tag myself and stamped a Studio G sentiment on it. The image stamp is one from a huge box of wooden stamps I bought on QVC aaaaaages ago!

The prize for this challenge is a set of gorgeous fabric brads and ribbons by My Mind's Eye.

Next up is Stampin' for the Weekend and our challenge this week is TAG IT. Quite simply, use a tag on your creation.

We are being sponsored by Meljen's Designs and my cute image is called Cuddle Cloud Baby. I've coloured it using copic sketch markers. My papers are MeLody Ross 'Homespun Chic' and they've been distressed with Victorian Velvet. To embellish I've added some Wild Orchid Crafts flowers, some pearl spray and a butterfly that's been punched out using the X- cut 3D punch.

I'm also going to enter this into a few challenges:
Cute Card Thursday's challenge - A tweet and a flutter.
Secret Crafter - Anything Goes
Stamp Something - Use A Digi

Well that's it from me for today. I have promised my kiddos I'd bring them to the play centre this morning and hopefully it will tire them out so that I can have crafty play time this afternoon.

Thanks for visiting :)

Waltzing Mouse September Blog Waltz

It's that time of the month again - Waltzing Mouse's monthly blog hop!! This month the theme is Halloween.

To play along you must add your blog link HERE

I just fell in love with the WMS Halloween release and used both the Wanda's Pantry and the Midnight Feast sets to make my project.

For my jar of decomposed fingers I used sponge fingers and orange jelly (jell-o). My kids LOVED the very idea of it, lol. And the company name - S. Lyme & Co - ingenious!!

I went all out with nesties, using 5 different ones, including the Fleur de Lis that I've had since last year and never used.

The papers on my card are last years Basic Grey halloween line, except for the orange dot which was in my scrap folder.

I had so much fun making these and am really looking forward to making up some pretty cool goodies for the trick or treaters this halloween!!

Thanks for stopping by!!
Have a wonderful day

Good afternoon. I hope you're all having a wonderful day and the weather is better than here, lol. As one of my Facebook friends has just said "Tá an gheimhridh anuas orainn... :( "
 - which means "The winter is upon us". I will admit that it's my favourite season though :)

On ABC Challenges this week our theme is D for Distressing and we are being sponsored by Simon Says Stamp

I recently found the instructions for making a Desktop Calendar Box and love this kind of project so I really enjoyed making it.

I used a beautiful WOJ image called Dreamy Willow with Flowers. It's been a while since I got to use a Whiff of Joy image and thought I was using Shy Willow, lol, but they are both fabulous to colour.

Some yummy peanut butter cups hidden inside....

I'm also entering this into a few challenges:

Whiff of Joy - Layers
Wild Orchid Challenges - Pearls & Pins
Sir Stampalot - All Distressed
Stamp Man Challenges - Distressed

Creative Card Crew - Autumn/Halloween

Hi!! So, so late with this today. Such a busy week, I'm running in and out of the house so much that I'm almost meeting myself in the doorway.. only a few more days and hubby will be back to share the driving :S
On Creative Card Crew we have an Autumn/Halloween challenge this week.

We are being sponsored by Sassy Cheryl and the team have all been given images to work with.

My image is called Pumpkin Wagon and is available HERE

Sandie

I love this time of year, Autumnal colours are my favourite. I coloured my image using copic markers and added little pearls to her hat and trousers. The pewter peals were the last of a Prima pearl swirl, broke my heart to use it up, lol. My flowers are a mix of Wild Orchid Crafts and Prima and for little extra touches I added peals and an uber orange bow!!
Thanks so much for visiting me today. Be sure to say hello to my teamies, they've all created wonderful Autumn/Halloween projects using Sassy Cheryl images.

Back tomorrow with ABC Challenges!!

PaperPlay Challenges - Autumn is Coming

Hi everyone! We have a great challenge for you over on PaperPlay Challenges

Autumn is Coming

We would love to see creations using the colours of Autumn.

Our fabulous regular monthy sponsor, Simon Says Stamp, is offering $15 to spend in their store to the very lucky winner of this challenge.

I've had this free Tea Baggie template from Waltzing Mouse Stamps for a while and finally got around to playing with it this week. I used some wonderful Basic Grey 'Green at Heart' papers and inked them all with Brushed Corduroy distress ink.

I used both the circle and scalloped circle nesties and the sentiment is also by Waltzing Mouse, from the Afternoon Tea set. I added some Wild Orchid roses and rose leaf -  and a little teapot charm I had in my stash. The big yellow button was, I'm sure, sent to me by my good friend Dee2.

Now, I am off to clear up the mess I made last night while doing Kirsty Wiseman's online crop. It was so much fun that I almost didn't get my layout done - I will be posting it on my other blog in a while.

Thanks for popping by! Be sure to go over and say hello to my very talented DT on PaperPlay!!

Pocket Full of Posies - Floral Fantasy

I've got the distinct feeling of de ja vú with my project for this morning - could that be because only a couple of days ago I posted with almost the same challenge?? LOL. Funny how that happens, makes one wonder who's got a fly on whose wall.. ooh crafty espionage.. haha!!

The challenge on A Pocket Full of Posies for this fortnight is Floral Fantasy {<-- see what I mean!!}.. and instead of a card I made a favour box. I got the template from SCS but adapted the top by adding a panel that can open up.

The box only requires one 8.5 x 11" sheet of DS paper or cardstock as it is an all-in-one. I used cardstock for the base and Basic Grey's Green @ Heart papers to cover it.

I followed the sketch on Waltzing Mourse Sketches challenge blog for the extra panel I added. I will also enter into the Stamp Something challenge - Something Cute

When the ribbon is opened the top panel flips back. To make it, I simply cut the square to size but left one size  0.5" longer. I scored it at the 0.5" mark and folded it underneath, adhereing the 'flap' to the top of the box. I also had to cut the ends of the flap diagonally to make sure it didn't overlap the openings on the top of the box.

To open the box and fill with goodies, all you do is pull upwards.... wonderful idea!! Once filled, you simply push the top part back down and tie up the ribbon.

Tip: If you do attempt to make this box then I would advise watching the video tutorial on how the bottom of the box is assembled. I went by the instructions  - read it, and read it again.. tried it.. screamed at it.. scratched my head.... and eventually gave in and watched the video.. THEN it all made sense, lol!!

Well that's my project. I really enjoyed making it and am all set to make another later today. Please do pop over to the Pocket Full of Posies blog to see what the other ladies have created - and if you're interested in joining our DT then all you have to do is email us a link to your blog to be considered.

Have a great day!

Anyone for Anya? - Back to School

Happy Sunday!! Wow, I can't believe the weekend is almost over.. yesterday just flew by in a haze of cleaning products and laundry, but it means that I have some free crafty time today :D

This week on Anyone for Anya? the theme is BACK TO SCHOOL.

We have a brand new sponsor - Debbie from Stampeezee, and the prize on offer is £10.00 to spend in the shop!
I decided not to make a card for this one, instead I made a mini coaster album to keep pics of my little ones first day of school.

I used a cute CC Designs digi download, called Sugarplums School Emma With Pencil,  from All That Scraps.

The papers are MME and were free on a magazine a while back. I coloured my sweet image with copic markers and I added some pearls & flowers to the album for a touch of girly-ness-nesssss, lol.

The album title is made up using Thickers and a Dymo label maker.

Be sure to hop over to my teamies' blogs to show them some love and see their wonderful creations.

Now, I have just enough time to finish my coffee before heading out with the kiddos, they're not so patient.. at all!! Daddy is totally on duty this afternoon, lol.

Have a very happy day!

CES Challenges - Floral Frenzy

I'm running a little late this morning - hubby is in the UK, the little ones are full of big demands and something is affecting my laptop!! I'm not sure if it's slow internet speed or there is a conflict going on within the laptop but it's painful to even get Picasa to work. I tried to add pictures last night but that ended in a very frustrated Sandie.. anyway, it's all good for now (touching wood!!) ...

This week over on CES Challenges the theme is FLORAL FRENZY!! Woot!! Who doesn't love flowers??!!

I was given some very cute Wild Rose Studio papers in my DT kit and I love making Christmas cards in non tradtional colours. I matched the papers with purple cardstock.

My image is from Lili of the Valley and is coloured using copic markers AND promarkers - yes, I delved into the world of Promarkers - not sure how much I like them yet, they feel so different to use, but I needed purple in a hurry one day last week and our local bookstore sells them. We'll see.... lol.

I've added loads of sparkle to the image too and will enter this into both the Lili of the Valley challenge, which is a sketch by the wonderfully talented Bev, & Wild Orchid challenges with 'Make it Sparkle"

Well that's it from me for today, I hope you like :) Please be sure to visit my teamies' blogs to see their Floral Frenzy projects.

Have a great Saturday & happy crafting

ABC Challenges & more.

Hi everyone! We got over the first day at school with just a few tears (mine!!). Miss Princess LOVES her new school and "had lots and lots of fun" Hopefully I can relax a bit more tomorrow and get some crafty time.

Before I get to my card I would just like to spread the word that Pocket Full of Posies are recruiting new DT members. We currently have a very small team and are hoping to expand the team quickly. If you would like to be part of our florally obsessed family you can find all the details HERE

The challenge on ABC Challenges for this fortnight is ....

C is for Charms

We are very very lucky to be sponsored this week by BunnyZoe Crafts

My card for today is a Christmas card using a Lili of the Valley image, and I've followed their challenge theme - Circles and Dots. I've also used the sketch over on Friday Sketchers.  I'm also entering into the Basic Grey Challenge who are asking for Fabric.

Wild Orchid Challenges want to you to Make it Sparkle so I have added loads of star dust stickles to the Wild Orchid Crafts Flowers and to my image.

Thanks for dropping in!! Have a great day
