ABC Challenges - V for Vintage & a card for Jayme

I have 2 cards I want to share today. First up is a card made by special request.

This is taken from Lisa's post:

I am having a special event for my sister Jayme. She is in her early 50's and has terminal lung cancer. To make it worse, her sweet dachshund Molly passed away a couple weeks ago. Today we learned her cancer has spread to several other areas and her time is running out. I am asking for all my card making friends to send her a fun card...not really get well cards obviously, but something pretty or funny that will make her smile. She is a frog collector so frog cards would be awesome! I have been blessed by all those I design for to have a wonderful offer of blog candy. Details are below on how to enter. I will choose a winner June 2nd.

I used another image sent to me by Jan (thanks hun!!) as part of the request was to use a frog if you had one.  I coloured her using copic markers and H2Os on the wings. I also used H2O's for the grass and on the frog.

My sentiment is computer generated and is the start of the story inside.. which is quite funny I think..

I am also entering this card into Simon Says Stamp colour combo challenge which is to use Pink (or Blue) with Brown and Green and I used the sketch from Papertake Weekly.

Directions to enter Lisa's challenge:
1. Create a card that is funny and a frog if you have one! (NO get well cards please)
Inside please include a note saying that you are a stamping friend of her sister Lisa's.

2. Mail your card to:
Jayme Clevenger
2826 Wilshire
Woodward, OK 73801
USA

3. Post your card on your blog (if you have one) and directly link back to my event here.

4. Enter your direct link below (at Lisa's blog)
Please leave a link to your card created and mailed to Jayme. Thanks for helping me make her smile!

V is for Vintage.

We are sponsored by Kellie and her wonderful shop of Tickled Pink Stamps. She is offering the prize of one Lil Lolita Stamp to our winner.

This challenge took me right out of my comfort zone but am very pleased with how my card took shape.

My papers are by Jillibean Soup, G.C.D. Studios (striped) and Creative Imaginations (music). They have all been distressed with Tim Holtz distress inks. I even broke out the sewing machine and stitched my papers!!

The postcard is from a kit I bought .. must be 2yrs ago now.. but I can't remember who it's by. The gorgeous flower and pearl swirl is from Prima, of course :)

Lace, button and bakers twine from my stash.

I am entering this card into
Create 4 Fun - Vintage
Die Cut Dreams - Words
Creative Inspirations - Distressed
The Town Scrapper - Flowers and Lace

Thanks for visiting today. Please do visit my teamies' blogs to see their vintage creations.
Have fun and happy crafting

Creative Card Crew - Pink & Green

Good morning everyone!! I hope you are all enjoying the beautiful weather that we've been blessed with. Apparently it's not to last long so I guess we'd better make the most of it!!

Today I want to share my DT card for Creative Card Crew

. The theme this fortnight is
Pink & Green

Our sponsor for this challenge is Crafty Addicts

Your eyes do not deceive you.. I have not used an image on my card today... therefore I am entering into Die Cut Dreams challenge  - Words Only.

My papers are PM Rose Garden and I've distressed them with Victorian Velvet distress ink. I used MS Doily punch and layered the papers.

The sentiment is from the set I won on Jo's blog as part of the Simon Says Stamp blog hop ... I can see me using these A LOT!! The circle and scalloped circle were cut out using Nestabilities. The ribbon and brad are from my stash.

Thanks so much for visiting me today. Please do check out my teamies' blog and I'd love you to link up if you participate this week.

Crafty Angels meets Just Magnolia

Good morning!! On Crafty Angels this week we have a fab colour combo for you  - Teal & Brown. I absolutely love this combo!! I used the sketch from Just Magnolia but flipped it sideways.

My teamie, Jan, from Stampin' for the Weekend was kind enough to send me some Magnolia Fairytale images this week and she also included this Edwin.. already masked on the fence! Happy days!!

As I am still building my copic stash up I didn't have any teal so I used both distress inks and copics on my image. Edwin's clothes are inks, the rest is copics. For a change I decided not to add stickles to the wings.. for now, lol!!

My papers are from the Brook Collection by Crate Paper Inc. I've edged them all with Vintage Photo. The background of my image is very lightly shaded with Stormy Sky.

The pin is from Tim Holtz. The ribbon is another from a Raspberry Ribbons kit and the buttons are from my stash.

Other challenges I'm entering:
Practical Scrappers - Patterned Paper
Creative Cottage - One for the Boys
Sew Many Challenges - Anything Goes

Thanks for looking and have a wonderful Monday!

Friday Sketchers #103 ... and a Whiff of Joy ;)

Hi!! I hope you are all having a great Sunday. It's very warm here today, perfect weather for a BBQ... certainly too hot to cook indoors, lol.

My card today is created using the awesome sketch over on Friday Sketchers. I also made my card with the guest DT call on Whiff of Joy in mind. The colours to use are Red, Orange and one of your choice, so I chose black. Of course when I read what the colours were BG Marrakech sprang to mind.. but I was all out.. typical. However I did have some Ambrosia left and they were perfect for the colour combo Katharina asked for.

Angel Charlotte is the newest addition to my collection of Whiff of Joy stamps. I have coloured her using copic markers. I've added stickles to her wings and glossy accents to both her halo and the star on her necklace. She has been cut out and mounted her on 3D pop dots.

My ribbon is from one my favourite Raspberry Ribbon kits - full of wonderful browns and oranges. The beautiful orange pom-pom ribbon in the kit was quickly claimed by a 4yr old who insists it was meant for her!! hmmmm....

I complemented the colour combo with co-ordinating flowers, all of which are from Wild Orchid Crafts, and finished off with some black gems.

I am also entering into the following challenges:
Your Next Stamp - Cut it out and Pop it Up
Papertake Weekly - Say it with Flowers

Thanks for stopping by :)

Stampin' for the Weekend DT & Stamp Something DT

Good morning!! If you're looking for the Stamp Something blog hop then please scroll down to the previous post.

Today I have 2 cards to share, both DT cards.

First up is Stampin' for the Weekend. Our challenge to you this week is to make a card that will put a smile on someone's face, cheer them up!

There is a 2nd part to this challenge, which is optional - we would love if you were to mail your card to a child on the Post Pals site. You could even make the card with a specific child in mind. It would really make their day!

All we ask is that you keep images and messages light and child friendly :)

The design team have each made a card for a specific child on the Post Pals site and we will be mailing our cards to them.

About Post Pals:
Post Pals is an organisation that was set up to create smiles for children who suffer from life threatening and long term illnesses. We ask people to log on to send the children featured on the website ‘happy post’. When a child is very ill, often a visit from the postman can make their day. A cheery card or letter can make them feel less alone and bring welcome distraction from what they go through each day.

We are being sponsored by the wonderful Katharina from Whiff of Joy and she has very genrously offered THREE stamps up for the prize, 2 of which are from the Happy Mail Collection. Please check out the SFTW blog to see which stamps they are :) I have used one on my card today.

I made my card for Alice P. Alice herself loves card making so I hope my card can give her a litle inspiration while also putting a smile on her face.

I am also entering this card into the Whiff of Joy Challenge which is "Brown, Yellow and a Colour of your choice"  -  I chose green.

**************************

Next up is Stamp Something - and our challenge this week is "2 of Something". I've used 2 patterned papers and my image is of 2 little people :)
We are being sponored by Karen's Doodles

My image is from Karen's store. It is called First Kiss - aren't they little cuties!! I have coloured using copic sketch markers. Added a little stickles here and there for a bit of sparkle ;)

The 'admit one' ticket is a Tim Holtz stamp which I've stamped using Momento Cocoa ink and distressed with Antique Linen. I've sewn the heart button on to the ribbon to keep it in place. They are both gifts I recieved from kind friends.

The papers are Hampstead by PaperMania.. I'm loving the designer ranges they are coming up with lately. They are also textured and feel very luxurious!! My flowers have been inked and stickled .. boy do I go through a lot of stickles, lol!!

Thanks so much for visiting me today. Please don't be shy - say hello :)

Don't forget that Stamp Something are having a blog hop this week to celebrate their 2nd birthday!! Some of the DT are offering candy on their own blogs and Simon Says Stamp are offering $20 gift coupon for our overall winner on the Stamp Something blog! My candy is of the surprise variety!! I LOVE surprises and I also love to send surprises!! Leave a comment on my blog hop post below to be in with a chance of winning a ... well you'll have to wait and see, won't you, lol!!

Have fun and happy crafting!

Stamp Something are 2yrs old and to celebrate we are having a blog hop!! If you've arrived here via Dorte's blog then you are on the right track. If not, you need to start on the Stamp Something blog and follow the link on to the next stop.

Our fantastic regular monthly sponsor, Simon Says Stamp is again going above and beyond and Heidi is offering a little something to one lucky winner on the hop - a $20 gift cert for the store!! Big thanks to the Simon Says gang for all the support they give our challenge blog.

Now on to our Hop!!

Here is a list of the blogs that you need to visit.
Stamp Something
Tanja
Janna
Melissa
Guest Designer Lols
Dorte
Sandie (you're here!!)
  Denise
Diana
Lisa
Erin - where the hop will end.

The theme of the hop is CUPCAKES or CAKE. So we've all used images, papers, colors and/or embellies that are inspired by cake!

I  used one of my cute Bildmarna stamps and coloured her using copic sketch markers. The little cupcakes have been stickled, of course!! lol.

My papers are BG Cupcake, and to be honest they are not my favourite of papers. Maybe it's the boldness of them, not sure.. but anyway there are cupcakes on them and  you can never have too many cupcakes :D

The sentiment stamp is from the set of Simon Says Exclusives range of stamps that I won on their recent hop. Love them!!!
Don't forget to leave your name below before  7am EST on May 27th to be in with a chance of winning a little surprise candy.

oooooooooooh, I love surprises!!!

Your next stop on the hop is Denise's blog. Have fun!!

I have coloured my image using copic sketch markers. I am trying to nail the distress ink look using copics.. not sure I'm there yet!! Practice makes perfect though? :)

My flowers are, as always, from Wild Orchid. I have inked them all using Brushed Cordory and then added some Star Dust stickles. The pin is also from WOC.

The ribbon, heart shaped doily and pearls are from my stash.

Crafty Angels meets Simon Says Stamp

Morning all :) We're off to the zoo today, naughty parents taking the kiddos out of school for a day of fun, lol.

Before I set off I would like to share my DT card for Crafty Angels. The theme this week is "Ripping and Tearing". I used the sketch from Simon Says Stamp so am entering into their challenge.

These hAnglar stamps are sooo running close being my favourite cutsie stamps. I tell ya, they are giving my Maggies a run for their money.... of course I don't have any of the fairytale Maggies yet so I'll hold off on judgment for now, haha!!

I have coloured using Copic sketch markers and gave her an outline to make her 'pop'. The papers have been ripped and inked with vintage photo.

I've used Star Dust Stickles on all of my flowers, the butterfly and the wings on my image. I've also inked the flowers with Victorian Velvet distress inks. I made the photo corners using the co-ordinating cardstock and have also inked & stickled them. The ribbon and white ric rac is from my stash.

Image: hAnglar and stAngler kit 4
Papers: PM Rose Garden & Coredinations cardstock
Tools: TH distress inks, copic markers, x-Cut 3D butterly punch, oval & scallop oval
nestabilities, cuttlebug

Stamp Something - Celebrate Somethings

Good Morning and happy Friday!!

Before I get to my card I want to share some good luck I've had this week. We all know that there is some very generous candy on blogs each week but Jacque from Jacque's Joie de Vivre is the most generous lady in blogland when it comes to candy.. and I was one of the VERY lucky winners only yesterday!!

I've followed Jacque's blog for a long time as her creations are just wonderful and even as she battles with her health she is still always very upbeat and is an inspiration to many. Her blog posts are always perky and fun. If you haven't checked out her blog before now, please do.. you won't be disappointed.

I must also mention Jo from Rambling Boots as I won her Simon Says Stamp blog hop candy on Wednesday.. (yes, yes... I've had a very lucky month, lol!! ).. which was a SSS Exclusives set of stamps. I picked a sentiment set as it's about the one thing I am desperately short of.

Now.. on to my card.. The Stamp Something challenge this week is Celebrate Somethings.

We are being sponsored by Motivet

and the DT have used their wonderful images in their samples. Do make sure to check them out.

This card is on it's way to Germany right now.  Domi, from Simon Says Stamp, is getting married tomorrow and Simon Says had a special challenge to celebrate the occasion. All you have to do is make a wedding card, link it in Mr. Linky but you MUST mail the card to Domi too.!!

The sweet image is called Doraline and Dexter, Bride & Groom and I have coloured them using copic markers.
My papers are Victoria & Albert from PaperMania and they have the most gorgeous texture to them. Perfect for wedding cards!! I matted them with 'cappucino' coredinations. The heart is grungeboard and I painted it with crackle paint. When it was dry I inked over it with Brushed Cordoroy.

I'm also entering into Cute Card Thursday's challege - Someone Special and By the Cute and Girly's challenge - Celebrations

My flowers are, as always, from Wild Orchid Crafts. And finally the sentiment is from a CC. Designs kit.

Pearls and ribbon are from my stash.

Thanks for popping by, do make sure to visit my lovely teamies' blogs to see what they've created.

Have a great weekend and HAPPY CRAFTING!

ABC Challenges & Paperplay .. and a DT call reminder.

Hello, well at this point I think I'm NEVER gonna shift this cold that I'm fighting all week and I'm getting impatient to feel better. However, the thud of my hAnglars being dropped in the letterbox yesterday cheered me right up!!! Love these stamps and am thrilled to have finally got some of them :)

First up  - Just a quick reminder that the DT call on Stampin' for the Weekend ends tomorrow, May 14th. If you would like to join our team for a 6 months term then drop us a quick email to sftw2010@aol.com so that Jan or myself can visit you.

(a day late due to a few hiccups)
The theme for this challenge is "U for Unused Stash".. yeah, we all have some!! I have loads of 'unused' on my card...

...the mountains of BG 12x12's that I've accumulated and never got around to using....

...the rolls and rolls of American Crafts ribbon I have. It's in a box at the back of the cupboard so I rarely think of it.....

.... and the Sugar Nellie stamp. It's called Reflective, isn't it just so pretty??!!.. I used copic markers to colour and my colourless blender to do the 'grass'. My flowers have been inked and stickled and I've also added stickles to the flowers in her hair. The DREAM ticket is from Tim Holtz.

I used the sketch from Sketch Saturday, so am entering this card into their challenge :)

I did 2  projects for PaperPlay this week. Our theme was set by Julie and she wants to see "Brown & ... a colour/colours of your choice"

I did a layout of my husband. The photo isn't great as he took it on his phone, lol, but I love it. I have a big pack of Jolee's Boutique firefight stickers but I'm soooo not a sticker person so I just used a number plate as the title. I really like  how the whole thing came together.

(more details of this layout on my scrappy blog)

Out of my leftover papers I made my first ever hAnglar card. I stitched it as I did on the layout. The sketch came from Friday Sketchers. To celebrate their 2 year Anniversary they are also having a special, fun blog hop! Be sure to check it out. There are prizes up for grabs on each of the DT's blogs as well as on the Friday Sketchers blog.

I coloured using copic markers but used my colourless blender with them to give the distress ink look. I am playing around with my camera settings (and yes, reading the manual, lol !!) as I'm finding I'm not getting true colours. The edges of my image are more defined IRL and the colours are bolder. Anyhooo, I'll get there.. I mean I only have the camera 2yrs.. and still haven't read the manual!

I stamped the hearts and inked the edges. The heart stamp is also from a hAnglar kit. They are mounted on 3D foam dots and I've added stickles around the edges. The birthday sentiment is from a sheet of die cuts called In Circles Sentiments.

Phew!! That's it from me today. I will be back tomorrow with another DT card.
Have a great day

Creative Card Crew - Emma's Sketch

Hello!! I hope you all had a great Monday. Mine was interesting, lol. My keys have been retrieved so the kiddos are safely in school today and I can get to doing the work I had planned on doing yesterday. But first I want to share a card with you...

On Creative Card Crew this week Emma has designed a beautiful sketch to work with. I am so in love with these CC Designs images and am slowly getting around to inking them up. How cute is this little one??!!

We are sponsored this fortnight by Simon Says Stamp

Heidi is kindly offering a $20 gift certificate as the prize to one lucky winner.
Anyone for Anya have a theme of "Lucky Numbers" this week and I thought the "4U" was a clever idea... even if it's by no means original, lol. Using a bingo card was my first instict but I didn't have any suitable ones. Aw well...

I coloured  my image using copic sketch markers. I really could not decide if she was sitting or standing so I went with standing.. but the more I look at it now, the more I believe she's actually sitting... haha! Too late now, eh?!

I cut the circle using nesties and then shaded the background with distress inks. Then I cut matching card with the scalloped circle nesties and mounted it onto 3D foam dots.

The border was punched using MS Scallop Dot punch and I've added some gorgeous lace too. My pins are from both Tabby Crafts (pearl top) and Wild Orchid (heart).

My flowers are also from Wild Orchid Crafts.. no surprise there!! I have used cherry blossoms (and inked the edges), 25mm roses and 10mm roses. Shock, horror.. I didn't use and stickles on them!! LOVE the different sizes and range of colours available.  I could do very serious damage to my credit card on this site.. lol.

So hop on over to the Creative Card Crew blog and see what the other girlies have come up with. If you do use the sketch this week please do link up so that I can visit you!

Thanks for visiting and have a wonderful Tuesday!!

Crafty Angels - One for the Girls

Good morning!! I have the kiddos home with me today as I went and left my car keys in my hubby's jeep and he's gone away for the day... of course the kids are delighted, lol, but me.. not so much!! They are being really good and even want to help clean today so I won't complain too much :D

Our theme on Crafty Angels this week is ONE FOR THE GIRLS.

I am also entering into Just Magnolia's special monthly challenge which is "It takes 2". They are asking that you use 2 or more Magnolia images on your project (not including sentiments)

I have been meaning to finish off this album for a while now. It's the one I had planned on doing for a class a while back but the event was unfortunately cancelled. However, since I'd already come up with the idea of using these coasters as album pages AND I had the papers I had requested for the class (K&Co. "McKenna") in my stash I went ahead and made it for myself anyway - only I turned it into a recipe book.

I used Magnolia's "Yummy for your Tummy" collection and in total I used 15 of their images throughout the book. There are 3 on the front cover not counting the 'Recipe' stamp.

I am still deciding on recipes and will take pics of the inside pages as soon as I have them added.

Most of the supplies I've used are avaiable on Crafty Angels website.

Papers: K & Company 'McKenna'
Images: Magnolia
Flowers: Wild Orchid Crafts
Lace & Pearls : Crafty Angels
Tools (including inside): Copic Markers, MS  Doily Punch, X-Cut Scallop Punch, MS Heart lace Punch, TH distress inks & stickles.

My sparkly flowers :D

Thanks for popping in, please do visit my teamies' blogs to see their girly creations!!

Happy Craftying
