Back to School with Creative Card Crew

Ok, so who else is having trouble believing it's the last day of August?!! The kids are back to school tomorrow and my little Princess will take her first step into a whole new world of learning. My stomach is in knots thinking about leaving her at those school gates :'( :'( Of course she is so excited and can't wait and thankfully she'll be finished at midday for the first week and a half.

So we have quite an appopriate theme on Creative Card Crew this week

Back to School

We are breing sponsored by Simon Says Stamp, our regular and valued sponsor.

My Greeting Farm image is a digi download and I've coloured her using copic sketch markers - which are on sale at a great price over in the Simon Says Stamp Store.

I've been trying to use up papers that have just been sitting in my paper box begging not to be ignored any more. The ones I used on this card are from Kaisercraft's Gypsy Sisters collection. The red/yellow paper on the front panel is glittered and just so lovely. As the papers were such deep colours I brightened it up with a white doily, white ribbon and light coloured Wild Orchid flowers.

Thanks so much for looking in today. Be sure to visit my teamies blogs to see their wonderful creations.

I am also entering this card into Stamp Something's challenge - Back to School

PaperPlay Challenges & a Waltzing Mouse Sketch Challenge

Hi!! I have 2 cards to share with you today. The first is one I made for PaperPlay Challenges. We have a Sketch Challenge for you this week, with the added option of using new stash.

My card is quite a loose intrepretation of the sketch and I did move elements around to suit my image, which is called Little Bird, and can be found HERE. The sentiments also come with the image.

My papers are Webster's Pages - I'm still having issues with covering up these beautiful papers!! lol. I used the MS Cornice punch to do the brown border and used some Prima packaging for the pale green border. The flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts. The daisy head pins and ribbon is from my stash.

I'm also entering this card into Wild Orchid Crafts Challenge which is Make it Sparkle

Next up is another entry into the Waltzing Mouse Sketch Challenge. The head Mouse-tress, Claire, has kindly offered up 2 sets of stamps for the random winner of this week's challenge :D

I am really pleased with this card. I love the sketch and I've used my all time favourite christmas papers, Figgy Pudding (still using up scraps!!), with a deep red and plain white cardstock. The sentiment is from Waltzing Mouse "Seasons of Love - Tags", which are nestie friendly too!!

I've added some Wild Orchid flowers that I've inked with Fired Brick distress ink. The sentiment has also been stamped and the background shaded using Fired Brick. I used my circle and scalloped circle nesties to make the card base and for the layering.  I've also added a white button threaded with red Scrapper's Floss and a beautiful MR crystal pin. The lace is from my stash - part of my great ebay bargain that I bought about 6mths ago & the red rhinestones are Kaisercraft!!

Thanks for popping by!! Be sure to visit my teamies to see their wonderful creations this week. Have a great day!

Stampin' for the Weekend - Anything Goes

Happy Friday!!

Well only another week and a half until the little ones are back in school. Life is very, very busy right now and I'm sure I'm not the only one, so to make things a bit easier we have an ANYTHING GOES challenge on Stampin' for the Weekend this week.

I recently purchased some Kenny K images but haven't had time to play with them so I decided to use one for my card this week. I have to say I really love these images. My daughter picked which one I had to use as she said it's her, lol.

I used the sketch on Sunday Sketch & Stamp and followed the challenge on Kenny K's challenge blog which was BOLD & BRIGHT. The colours I've used are certainly bolder and brighter than I'd normally use... this challenge dragged me  right out of my comfort zone!!

My papers are Basic Grey Olivia, LOVE THEM!! The colours are just fantastic!! I used copic markers on my image and added some star dust stickles to the ice cream :)

The flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts and I'm also going to enter their challenge ONE FOR THE GIRLS.

The pearls are from a prima swirl, the ribbon and sentiment are from my stash.

Thanks for visiting! Have a wonderful weekend.

PaperPlay Challenges - Pink Pink Pink

I'm baaaack!! lol. I survived the camping trip of Murphy's Law and am now safely back home. We had a great time even with all the hiccups we had to contend with. My mojo is a little slow about disembarking from the ship but I'm gently coaxing it home.... ;)

This week on PaperPlay Challenges our theme is quite simply PINK! We want to see all things pink on your creations.

We are being sponsored by Bunny Zoe Crafts and the prize is a $15 store voucher.

I am having a little girly get together for my daughter and her friends before they start school in Sept and yesterday we made invitations to send out.

I used the wonderful Afternoon Tea stamp set from Waltzing Mouse Stamps for both the sentiment and the tea pot. The tea pot has been paper pieced. The stamped border is also by Waltzing Mouse, from the Victorian Frippery set.  I based my invitations on the Waltzing Mouse sketch this week

My K & Company papers are from Crafty Alley's August kit and they have been inked with Victorian Velvet distress ink.

The lace and pearls are from my stash.

Thanks for popping by today. Be sure to check out the rest of the DT's wonderful PINK creations on the PaperPlay Challenges blog. Have a wonderful day and happy crafting!!

Our challenge this week on Anyone for Anya? is a colour challenge based on the picture below.

I downloaded this super cute image, called HG Classy, from the Greeting Farm and coloured her with copics. I cut her out using my octogon nesties and shaded the background with Spun Sugar distress inks. The sentiment is from Waltzing Mouse's Afternoon Tea stamp set.

My papers are BG Kioshi and I've used white, pink and purple cardstock. The ribbon and pearls are from my stash. As always I've added Wild Orchid flowers.

PaperPlay Challenge - Bon Voyage

Well I'm really hoping y'all are reading this because if not then blogger didn't publish my scheduled posts, lol.

This week on PaperPlay Challenges our theme is Bon Voyage - as August is the month a lot of people take vacations. However Bon Voyage could also mean leaving your job, moving home or moving to a new country.. the choice is yours!!

We are being sponsored  by Simon Says Stamp and Heidi has very generously offered our winner a $15 voucher to spend in the Simon Says Stamp store.

I used one of the new Tildas from Magnolia's Summer Kit and coloured her with copics. Have to say, this poor Tilda looks a little tubby around the middle, lol. Maybe she's coming home from a great vacation and forgot the diet ;) !! The shells are also from the kit. Of course my flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts and I've added loads of my favorite embellies.. PEARLS!! lol.

Well that's it from me for today. I am probably washed out of it in the UK but hopefully not washed out to sea!!

Thanks for visiting!!

Pocket Full of Posies - All that Glitters

This fortnight on Pocket Full of Posies we have a shiny, sparkly challenge for you all - All That Glitters.

I've combined this card/gift box with Just Magnolia's special monthly challenge of using acetate,  Stamp Something's photo inspiration challenge and 7Kids College Fund Challenge of Pink & Dots

I made a card that houses an acetate gift box inside using very glittery Melody Ross papers from the Homespun Chic collection. I cut out some of the flowers and adhered them using 3D pop dots.

from the side..
the inside..

I also made the front of the card to the sketch on Waltzing Mouse Sketch challenges but I missed the deadline, lol.

I kept the inside pretty basic as I didn't want to make the card too bulky to close down.

My stamps are :
Magnolia - Yummy for your Tummy collection - coloured with copic markers
Waltzing Mouse - Rescue Remedies & Oven Fresh Gingerbread Joy - stamped using Tim Holtz Victorian Velvet

Thanks so much for stopping by, be sure to go leave my teamies' a little love. Have a great day and happy crafting

Good morning. I hope you all have a wonderful Sunday. We are off out in a bit while the rain has stopped. At this point we're all in dire need of some fresh air. - guess I'll be getting plenty of that from Tuesday on as we're going camping ..eeek!!

My papers are one of my all time favourites - Basic Grey Figgy Pudding. I'm still hoarding a pack and am using up scraps sparingly from the last pack I cut into, lol.

I got my ribbon from Fanstastic Ribbons - excellent value @ 20 rolls for £25 AND there is so much choice!! I've linked it up for reference only.. I can't be held responsible for any impromptu spending sprees!!

My fabulous poinsettia and leaves are from a jar of Prima Floral Embellishments. I just added a white button threaded with scrappers floss to the centre.

Be sure to check out the Anyone for Anya? blog to see what my very talented teamies' have created for Christmas in August.
