PDD Friday / Papertake Weekly & Just Magnolia
This week's challenge on the Magnolia Challenge Blog is "Ribbons & Bows" while on Papertake Weekly there is sketch #22 to follow.
I used distress inks to colour my Tilda image and shade the background. I then cut the image out and put her 'sitting' on the ribbon. I used some prima flowers and made a bow for the centre. I finished it off by adding some orange gems and white pearls around the card. The sentiment is a Studio G.
Ingredients:
Papers: KaiserCraft Pina Colada Collection & PM cardstock
Image: Magnolia - Tilda
Sentiment: Studio G
Flowers: Prima
Distress inks, adhesive pearls, gems & ribbon from my stash
Fiskars border punch

SFTW meets Friday Sketchers
This week over on Stampin' for the Weekend the theme is Pink & Grey, ABC Challenges is 'B is for Buttons' and on Friday Sketchers they have sketch #66 to follow:

PDD Friday & Just Magnolia
This week over on Just Magnolia there is a wonderful sketch by Rach to follow. I've moved a couple of things around to suit my image.
On my card I used the Tilda as Dragonfly image and masked her to add some flowers, which is also a magnolia stamp. I coloured my images and shaded the background paper with distress inks. Then I highlighted with my Inkssentials white gel pen and added some Star Dust stickles to her wings.
I cut a scalloped circle using my nesties, stamped the Butterfly Scallop Frame and also used my distress inks to colour that.
Then I added some primas, and using a little flower punch, I made some smaller flowers for the centre and then added some crystal gems in the centre. I also punched out a little butterfly.
I followed through to the inside using the flower stamp and shading the background papers.
Ingredients: Papers: MME Laundry Line & Gemstones cardstock
Images: Magnolia. Pez-A-Doodle Designs Butterfly Scallop Frame
Flowers: Prima
Tools: Nestabilities curved rectangle, circle and scalloped circle. Cuttlebug
Adhesive gems, stickles, distress inks

Whiff of Joy#44, Papertake Weekly #100 and PaperPlay#31
Whiff of Joy meets Papertake Weekly
This week over on Whiff of Joy Challenges Rach has made a wonderful sketch to follow. I used one of the new Whiff of Joy Fall kit stamps and coloured her with my trusty distress inks, then shaded the background with Dried Marigold. I added some flowers and leaves that I won recently and some adhesive pearls to finish it off. I'm trying to used up all of the little pearls that are always left over so you may notice quite a lot of them on my cards recently, lol.
I'm also entering this into Papertake Weekly Challenge who are celebrating their 100th challenge this there's a choice of 99 different challenges!!! That's because you get to pick your favourite PTW challenge and re-do it. I picked Seeing Spots.
Ingredients:

PaperPlay Challenges #31
This is my DT card for PaperPlay Challenges this week, which is a sketch by Mandy :) I just love these Gorjuss girl images.. and of course mine are predominantly blonde, lol.
Tab inadvertantly reminded me that I had a cute little butterfly punch from back in the day when I'd just started making cards and had no clue about what I should have been buying so I ended up with a load of things I never use!! This was actually a box of tiny punches and I made the little flower centres using 2 more of them. I guess they did come in handy after all. Again, I have added tons of little adhesive pearls :D
Ingredients:
Papers: BG Urban Prairie & Gemstones cardstock
Image: Gorjuss Girl
Ribbon: Making Memories
Flowers: Prima
Distress inks, adhesive pearls
Tools: Nestabilities oval and scalloped oval, cuttlebug, Craft Tonic punches (Do Crafts)

For a Princess
I have to make just a very quick post today as I am up to my eyes in disinfectant. We took in a stray kitten a couple of weeks ago, until we could find him a new home, and it turned out the poor thing has ringworm .. totally grosses me out but it's not the cat's fault. Unfortunately it means my whole house has to be disinfected and the kitten quarantined!! As someone recently said "no good deed goes unpunished!" .. how right they were!!
I made this card using the Princess Anya image that I got in some blog candy. I coloured her with distress inks and added some glossy accents to both the crown and the wand. I also added some stickles to the bottom of her dress. I cut out some flowers on the cricut and distressed the edges with ink. The ribbon is East of India and the charm is from The Hobby House.
Ingredients:

Papers: PM Blueberry Hill & cardstock

PDD and some exciting news!!
Boy am I having a great weekend!!! Before I get into that I'd like to share with you a fantastic stamp idea exclusive to Pez-A-Doodle Designs. Nestability Frames!! This particular one is called Blackberries and it comes in 2 sizes per pack, the one I used is the bigger one. Also available is Butterfly Scallop Frame which is compatible with the circle nesties. I've a feeling these will sell out fast, so if you want them you'd better not delay!!
It's been a while since I've done a clean and simple card :) I put my card through the cuttlebug using the 'Thanks' folder and tied some multicoloured tulle around it. Then I cut out my nestie label and stamped the frame on it. I coloured the blackberry image with distress inks. Then I cut a bigger frame and mounted the smaller one onto it. The sentiment is a Studio G. I mounted the frames onto my card using 3D foam dots and finished it off by adding some white pearls to the centres of the flowers and along the bottom of my bigger label.
The other PDD DT members have also been busy, please do check out their blogs to see what they've been up to. Links are on my side bar!!
NOW.. on to my great news!!!!!
Firstly, I've been selected to join the Stamping' for the Weekend design team!! I am so thrilled to be joining this team as it's been a favourite challenge blog since it started up. I am so thankful to Kimmi, Donna and the rest of the team for selecting me and I can't wait to get started :)
And if that didn't make my weekend.... I won BLOG CANDY too!! woooo!! The lovely Amy had some wonderful blog candy which included a High Hopes stamp set. I've been dying to get some High Hopes stamps so I was exceptionally delighted to win. Thanks Amy :)
Finally, don't forget that Basic Grey challenges is back with their first challenge on the new blog - a great sketch by Tara G!!
And on that note.. I'm off to do my Saturday morning cleaning... ugh!!

Princess and the Bug..
I'm so excited with what I have to show you all today... finally, the new releases from Pez-A-Doodle Designs!!! 2 new Princesses AND 2 new Bugs!!!
This first card introduces Princess Priya. I really adore this stamp and BG Marrakech papers sprang to mind when I first saw her! I love how it all came together and I know I'll be using this one over and over again!!
I am entering this card into the Truly Scrumptious Challenge as I followed their sketch :)
I had little tiny self adhesive pearls that fit perfectly on her head dress, and for the red 'gem' in the middle I used glossy accents.
The next card is the new Picnicin' Ladybug.. cute, cute, cute!!!
After I coloured the ladybug I felt it needed 'something' .. so I added some glossy accents to the black spots. It added a little dimention and made the spots pop out more.

Paper Pieced Somethings - CHALLENGE
The challenge on Stamp Something this week is to paper piece something.
I got this wonderful Doraline stamp, by Motivet, in the mail last week and was itching to use it!! I coloured her up with a mix of distress inks and paperpieced her dress. Then I distressed the background with Frayed Burlap. I distressed my background papers using an edge distresser and ripped back a bit on the side. Using an eyelet setter I made 4 holes and threaded some ribbon through, then tied it up. Finally I added a bingo card and 2 buttons threaded with scrappers floss.
Ingredients: Papers: Basic Grey Bittersweet and PM cardstock Image: Doraline by Motivet Bingo card: Jenni Bowlin Tools: eyelet setter, Heidi Swapp edge distresser Distress inks, ribbon, buttons, scrappers floss all from my stash.

A trio of Challenges
Finally hubby is starting to feel a little better and it's not raining today so the little ones are outside playing.. while I get to play inside :)
I made this card for 3 challenges:
- Just Magnolia, week 16 - Distressing (as if 2 weeks of listening to an ill hubby isn't distressing enough, lol!!)
- Stampavie & More challenge #54 - School
- Friday Sketchers - 63 had this wonderful sketch to follow -
I used Magnolia's Edwin and coloured him using distress inks. I distressed the background using Broken China. Then I cut edwin out using my octagon nesties, and mounted it on a scalloped octagon. I distressed the backgound papers with an edge distresser.
Then I made a little folder using the cricut and the Plantin Schoolbook cart. I used white cardstock and distressed it with Old Paper. I cut out a little piece of my dp to slip into the folder. Then I stamped "A" on the front. (to give the impression that it was a report card!!)
I finished off the card using 3 buttons threaded with scrappers floss and some stickles on Edwin's wings. I decorated the inside using the same papers, but no stamping :)
